I had no ti to react.
The anchor collided with my head, and the world turned into a blur of destruction.
My bones crunched, my organs twisted, and my skin exploded into shards of pain—liquid of gold was sprayed in every direction.
The deck beneath us splintered, as if the very ship had been cleaved in two by the sheer weight of the malevolent destruction. I felt myself flying, smashing through debris, the wood of the cursed vessel erupting like brittle bones.
"Aaaa…"
The force hurled into the lower levels of the ship, where the remnants of undead sailors and tendrils were scattered like ragdolls, blown away by the shockwave. Darkness started to swallow as the world trembled under the Revenant's wrath.
My body scread in protest, my Valtherion's Blood working frantically to repair the rupture from the blow. But before I could fully recover, the Revenant was there again, as if he teleported, unrelenting. His anchor ca crashing down toward once again, a world-ending weight that threatened to bury beneath the depths.
I barely managed to roll to the side, but the impact sent ripples of destruction through the ship, and the surrounding air seed to crack like brittle glass.
"Argh…!!"
The Revenant swung again, not giving a mont to breathe, and the ground beneath buckled.
Every ti I tried to stand, the anchor would co down, and I had no choice but to dodge, to move, to survive.
But just like before, there was this ntal barrier that prevented from fully committing to escape his attack, as if the immortality curse that was attached to also act as a catalyst for this suicidal tendency.
Each strike was like a cot crashing to earth, the sheer force tearing the world apart around , both physically, and ntally.
It was endless. The Drowned Revenant was truly a force of nature—no, sothing beyond nature, sothing that had transcended the laws of reality. His very existence twisted the world around him, bending the air, the water, and ti itself to his will.
Finally, by so miracle of my blood, I slipped out of his assault.
"Looks like I'm no longer affected by your mind tricks!"
My regeneration spiked at just the right mont, and I sprang to my feet, summoning all the strength I had left. My Stormhooks, damaged from the relentless onslaught, glowed faintly with the arcane remnants still clinging to their edges.
Wait, arcane remnants? Was this Kuzunoha doing? She must be worried that I would be weaponless, if the thing that she strengthened was my weapon and not myself.
Now that I think about it, that cheeky secretary of mine really insisted on getting pounded to the ground.
"Kuzunoha, that rascal."
Regardless, that didn't matter much now.
My Sanity didn't worsen, but my Consciousness did. As of now, it was sitting at a scary 65%, and it kinda affected my brain-processing capability.
I'm still in the state of painful euphoria, and I'm trying my best to not moan incessantly in front of the Drowned Revenant, with all of the pain that he inflicted to my body in just a single sequence of action.
"That thing stopped being aggressive all of a sudden…" I scouted the current level of the ship that I'm in, roaming around with blitz speed as I keep an eye on the Revenant. "This might be my chance."
It was possible to just tank all of the Drowned Revenant's attack since I was nothing less than an immortal with miraculous healing ability, but seeing how my Consciousness stats have a hard ti recovering, I'm afraid that being submissive would cause to receive so permanent damage, even after Kuzunoha was done subduing it.
"Hehehehe, looks like I'm done acting like a beast, for now~"
The attack from the Drowned Revenant felt different. Instead of receiving physical damage, I'm afraid that I would get sothing like spiritual damage or so sort.
But was it wise to to start going full defensive when that bastard was barely keeping attention from like a toddler? No.
I want to see the extent of its defensive capability.
Everything within this ship can spawn and revive.
But none of them can regenerate.
"Let's took my spear for a test drive~"
I lashed out, driving the hook toward the Revenant's torso. It scraped against his barnacle-encrusted armor, sparks flying, but he barely flinched.
I followed up with another strike on the neck, arm, and multiple different areas that were much weaker than his armor—my blood roaring in my ears as I aid for a gap in his defenses.
For a few seconds, she was tanking all of it like a sitting duck, probably due sothing that Kuzunua perford when she was performing her existence cracking, or whatever the hell she was doing—but at one mont, her head and gaze started to latch on again like an automatic receptive drone.
The bastard didn't imdiately attack, however.
He moved with eerie grace for sothing so large, sidestepping my attack with a flicker of unnatural speed.
Then, his arm whipped out, catching across the chest with a backhanded strike that sent careening through what remained of the ship's hull.
The impact knocked the wind from my lungs, and before I could react, the Revenant was upon once more. His next strike sent sailing into the cursed sea itself.
And if my vision didn't betray at that mont, I glimpsed that the entire ship was split in half from that one devastating attack.
"Gurhah!!"
The water was colder than death, thick and oily, clinging to my skin like a second layer of suffocation. The spell of buoyancy on my feet flickered and waned, the arcane energies weakening under the strain of the battle.
I fought to keep my head above the surface as the Revenant waded into the water, his massive form parting the sea like a god of old. His anchor hung nacingly at his side, dripping with seawater and the void itself.
