At the appointed restaurant, Wayne t Kell, as well as the “ugly sister” he had ntioned.

Must say, she really was beautiful.

She was a brown-haired beauty with an excellent figure and appearance, especially her dignified deanor, and the red lips plus glasses look gave off a hint of naughty sexiness amidst the intellectuality.

“Let introduce you, this is my sister, Mona Horson.”

Kell enthusiastically introduced them, “This is Wayne, the one I’ve told you about.

Don’t let his youth fool you; he already owns his own detective agency.

He is talented and not short of money, the type of young success that you like.”

Young and successful might be an overstatent; my detective agency was started with financial support.

Wayne looked at Kell with confusion; wasn’t she your sister, why do they have different last nas?

Kell shrugged offhandedly, “Blended family; it’s quite normal for her to keep her own surna after reaching adulthood.”

Yeah right, as if I’d believe that!

Wayne rolled his eyes and politely reached out for a handshake with Mona, unconsciously sizing up her attire and appearance.

She looked very young, hardly thirty based on her looks, with appropriate and bright, yet fitting makeup and clothing.

The over-the-knee black skirt and stockings hinted at a decent financial capability.

At the sa ti, Mona was sizing up Wayne.

She was very thorough, looking beyond what a detective’s habit would warrant.

The tea ti wasn’t long, but Wayne turned the eting into a recruiting session.

Trusting in Kell’s character, he hired this female detective on the spot.

Mona was registered in the White Glove Association with the sa blue level as Wayne, beautiful and capable with an expected salary that wasn’t high.

Wayne had no reason to refuse her.

All detective employees were male; recruiting a female detective would make handling certain cases more convenient.

After a pleasant afternoon tea, Wayne left his business card and departed.

Just by looking at Mona’s detective level in the White Glove Association, Wayne didn’t need to think to know she was a mage, and her visit was certainly about more than just becoming his subordinate.

No matter, Wayne’s approach was to keep work strictly work and personal life separate, confident that there was nothing to fear from her involvent.

After Wayne left, Kell turned to his ‘sister’ and whispered, “How did it go?

Did you see anything?

Is he the one you’re looking for?”

“It’s not that easy,”

Mona shook her head, “We can’t confirm it yet, but since you ntioned he can transform into an angel, this lead is worth following.”

“Can you tell what the Church is actually looking for?”

“Kell, it’s been pleasant chatting with you, and I appreciate your help.

That’s it for today; I have other matters to attend to,” Mona said before she swayed away, leaving Kell rolling his eyes on the spot.

If she wouldn’t tell, he’d investigate on his own.

“Wait a minute, why am I the one paying the bill?”

————

Wayne returned to the detective agency and told Wesley to stop the recruitnt of detective employees.

Including himself, the boss, the detective agency now had three detectives; there was no need to hire more for the ti being.

The business had just started; they shouldn’t overextend too soon.

Ti passed quickly, a black sedan arrived on Comrcial Street, and the butler Philark ca to pick up the master from work.

Wayne sat in the back, fiddling with an ancient silver coin.

The six elents needed to build the hexagram were all maxed out, and the Four Elents of earth, fire, water, and air were overly abundant, but he was still unable to link up the hexagram.

So much for things falling into place; his drain was about to overflow!

At the mont, the ancient silver coin wasn’t much use to Wayne anymore, mainly because The Book of Greed kept consuming it, like a black hole, endlessly devouring within the Grey Space.

The black sedan turned onto Jazz Road, and a torrential downpour suddenly erupted, with the grim sky looking as if it was about to collapse.

“It’s too dark…”

Wayne realized sothing was amiss and signaled to Philark to stop the car, but strangely, the butler did not obey and turned into a dark, narrow road instead.

Darker and darker it grew.

Wayne squinted his eyes, sensing what might be happening and stuffed the ancient silver coin into a crevice of the leather seat.

The car stopped, and an Undead Infantry opened the door and sat next to Wayne, greeting him with a villainous cackle.

Wayne rolled his eyes, “Dean Plank, you don’t need to hide your face every ti.”

“That’s not possible; one has to be trustworthy, and I promised the High Priest,” said Dean Plank, who believed in being forthright, assuring that he had vowed never to reveal himself to Wayne unless necessary, a promise he could not break.

Your god sure is easy to fool!

Wayne muttered to himself then saw Dean Plank retrieve the ancient silver coin from the seat crevice.

“How strange, this silver coin looks like the one I lost,” said Plank, delighted with his luck, happily pocketing the ancient silver coin.

My coin!

Wayne watched the ancient silver coin being taken, vowing in his heart to rember this humiliation forever, determined to retrieve what he lost with his own hands.

“Wayne, I heard you encountered an Evil God on Dragonheart Island, and an Ancient God as well?”

“The Dean knows about it too?”

“Of course, that was, after all, an Ancient God.”

Plank went straight to the point, candidly revealing the relationship between the White Glove Association and the Liberty Mage Alliance to Wayne.

The Windsor Royal Family indeed had a vast reach, and the White Glove Association was just part of it.

“Did you see the Ancient God?”

“No, it was very noisy around , and then I knew nothing.”

“A pity…

but it’s to be expected; an Ancient God cannot be gazed upon, cannot be described.”

Plank sighed, caught in the sa dilemma as the Evil God, desiring the sweets of the Ancient God but fearing the excess sugar intake might be overwhelming.
