"You’re acting strange!"
Sister Hua? Could it be that she’s finally found romance? No, that doesn’t sound right. Is it okay to speculate about Sister Hua like that? But Sister Hua and Wei Liangxiao... those two... Wait, have those two even t? How did they... get in touch?
Chu Tian’s thoughts drifted further and further, but from Wei Liangxiao’s perspective, Chu Tian was staring intently at him, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
"Hey, why are you staring at ? I was talking about the ’King of Mask Singer’ finale concert in a few days. You told not to contact Xu Qingqiu, so I had to contact soone else, right?"
"Is that so?"
"What else could it be?"
Chu Tian frowned at Wei Liangxiao. He had a nagging feeling Wei Liangxiao wasn’t telling the whole truth, yet his explanation sounded plausible.
Could I really be overthinking this?
Mainly because the words Xu Qingqiu had said to him were still echoing in his ears.
"Do you think Sister Hua is going to spend her whole life like this?"
"We were both single before, but now that we’re together, Sister Hua doesn’t seem very happy whenever she sees us. Do you think we should find her a boyfriend?"
Chu Tian hadn’t thought about this initially, but Xu Qingqiu’s reminder made him realize it.
Although Sister Hua had always been supportive of their relationship, cheering them on and helping things along, whenever they showed a bit of affection, Sister Hua indeed seed unhappy.
So, Chu Tian had been pondering this. Just because a woman is a strong career type, does that an she can’t fall in love? Not necessarily. The key is what kind of person Sister Hua likes.
Now, hearing Wei Liangxiao suddenly ntion it, he subconsciously assud sothing was going on between them, but Wei Liangxiao’s words made him think he was mistaken.
"Whatever. Contact whoever you need to. The main thing is, if it’s about collaborations or anything like that, it’s best you tell ."
Seeing Chu Tian had no objections, Wei Liangxiao also breathed a sigh of relief.
"Of course. You’re the boss. If I don’t tell you, who else would I tell?"
Chu Tian rely rolled his eyes at Wei Liangxiao’s insincere flattery.
"Alright, you’ve had a tough trip and faced a lot of danger. Coincidentally, I just saw President Hou has so goodies. Let’s sit down and try them."
"Goodies? What goodies?"
Wei Liangxiao was still curious about the good stuff, but Hou Yichuan imdiately beca alert.
"Hey, President Chu, who taught you that? Taking my things to let others try? Besides, what good stuff could I possibly have?"
Chu Tian ignored him completely and turned towards the nearby bookshelf.
"Isn’t this it? Where did you get this tea? It looks pretty good to ."
Hou Yichuan was flabbergasted. How could he have seen that?
"You could even see this? Your eyesight is incredible."
Hearing his aggrieved tone, Chu Tian laughed.
"What? Feeling the pinch, are you?"
How could he not feel the pinch? Well, it wasn’t exactly that, but he hadn’t brought himself to drink it, and now Chu Tian had spotted it.
But he couldn’t say that outright; after all, the other person was his boss. He could only prevaricate and subtly test the waters.
"President Chu, at your age, shouldn’t you prefer drinking cola? Why are you interested in tea now?"
"Who drinks cola? That’s for youngsters. I’ve started liking tea now."
Hearing Chu Tian spouting such serious-sounding nonsense, Hou Yichuan was too exasperated to even comnt.
You’re a 25-year-old yourself, who are you calling a youngster?
Chu Tian hadn’t realized this. So of his mindsets and habits were, in fact, largely inherited from his previous life.
It wasn’t that he disliked cola; having drunk it since childhood, how could he not like it? It wasn’t as if reaching a certain age awakened so tea-drinking gene; that sort of thing didn’t exist.
For people of his generation, even in their forties or fifties, many still loved cola. After all, it was a habit that had accompanied them for half their lives and definitely couldn’t be shaken off.
The key was that in his past life, he had high-intensity work, irregular eating habits, and a lack of moderation. This eventually led to nurous health problems, and his doctors had forbidden him from consuming carbonated drinks like cola, as well as coffee, because continuing to drink them would cause further issues.
Later on, he started learning to drink tea from so older, more experienced colleagues and, after a few years, genuinely grew to like it, even developing a certain level of connoisseurship.
Actually, just now, he hadn’t seen the tea leaves; he had rely caught a whiff of its aroma as he passed by. From that scent alone, he could tell the tea was good.
Seeing the slightly apprehensive look in Hou Yichuan’s eyes, Chu Tian’s interest was piqued.
"What? Does this tea hold so special significance?"
"No, no..."
Hou Yichuan quickly waved his hands. Seeing that he really couldn’t save it, he gave up.
"It doesn’t have any special aning. Actually, I just swiped it from my dad. I was planning to take it to my wife’s parents’ place next ti for my father-in-law to try."
He paused for a mont before saying quietly, "Since I was planning to give it as a gift, I couldn’t bring myself to drink any of it."
Chu Tian understood imdiately, but that didn’t stop him in the slightest from opening it.
"Alright, I get what you an. But the seal on this one isn’t good anymore. If it sits too long, it’ll get damp and the flavors will get muddled. I’ll give you a better one later. Let’s just open this one."
He was telling the truth. It would be fine if Hou Yichuan drank it himself, but for a gift, it really wasn’t ideal. After all, the bag was already leaking air; anyone with a discerning palate would taste the difference imdiately.
"Really?"
Seriously, why the disbelief? Chu Tian also had plenty of good tea at ho. Though he’d bought it all himself out of boredom, it was definitely better than Hou Yichuan’s.
Anyway, he had money and not many other hobbies, so he had to spend it sowhere.
