«Ugh, but why do you guys have superpowers and I don't? I wanna be a superhero too!»

It's been a week since the night they fought Raelos, and ever since, that's beco Lucrezia's new mantra.

She nags Hakuto and the others day and night, saying—word for word—that she wants to "fight bad guys with super punches and energy blasts".

Definitely not the reaction anyone expected—they all thought she'd be traumatized at the very least.

After all, that night she'd been kidnapped by Tony Caspada, now a vampire, and then witnessed the attack on Hakuto and Chantal by Raelos and Ana.

The clash caused massive destruction across the city—wiping out electronics for hundreds of ters, raising the air temperature so high that nearly ten thousand people, mostly elderly and children, died.

Fires broke out everywhere.

It was like a war zone.

In the following days, witnesses reported violent lightning and purple flashes shaking Ro's skies for nearly an hour.

Authorities called it an "extrely rare electromagnetic storm", but to conspiracy theorists, that didn't fly.

Many believed it was a secret governnt experint gone wrong, blaming it on weapon tests at the long-abandoned Old General Markets.

Others blad a terrorist act or even aliens.

The funny thing is that for the average person with no clue of the truth, all those theories actually sounded more believable than what really happened.

Of course, HESPARC Italy agents rushed to the scene right after.

But luckily for Hakuto and Chantal, the plasma spheres Raelos had summoned before dying wiped out all their biological traces.

Not that they would've been in danger—they had just taken down a mber of the Cult of the Primordial Shadow—but they would've been dragged into an endless round of questioning.

As for Tony, no one has seen or heard from him since that night.

He vanished into thin air after bringing Lucrezia ho.

Since then, Lucrezia's obsession with supernatural creatures and powers has grown worse by the day.

«Lucrezia, it's not like I don't want to say yes! It's just not possible!» Hakuto grumbles.

They're sitting on a bench in a huge park downtown—she's on his lap. Technically, they should be in school, but she begged him to skip together. Clearly, her plan is to wear him down with sheer persistence.

«You can do it! Tony beca a vampire, and you told Chantal used to be human too... So why can't I beco one?!» Lucrezia huffs, clearly annoyed.

«I've already explained this! Only an original vampire—soone born a vampire, not turned—can transform soone else. But it's basically impossible. Both Chantal and Tony are walking miracles, probably thanks to their strong bodies and even stronger wills... and you have neither! You'd definitely die!»

«Then let's find the vampire who turned Tony and ask him to turn too!»

Hakuto sighs and shakes his head.

«What part of "you'd definitely die" didn't you get? Anyway, tracking down the vampire who turned Tony is already on my to-do list—and not because of your tantrums. Without Tony, though, I doubt we can trace him.»

«Then help get superpowers another way! Those two winged people from that night... they didn't seem like vampires... Can't I beco like them?!»

Truth is, she absolutely could. And Hakuto knows exactly how.

The recipe to gain succubus powers—without turning into a real succubus—is simple:

Step 1: locate an incubus. This is not an easy task, as such beings are extrely rare on Earth.

Step 2: beco that incubus's Soulmate. This step depends entirely on fate. Unless soone attempts to forcibly create the bond—as Raelos tried to do with Ana, sothing a human would have no ans to accomplish—each incubus or succubus is destined for only one Soulmate. That Soulmate can belong to any humanoid race, making the chances of eting one incredibly small.

Step 3: persuade the incubus to sacrifice their own life in order to transfer their energy to the Soulmate. Even in cases of genuine love, incubi and succubi are not naturally inclined to such an act. It requires a powerful emotional shock. In Ana's case, it was her desire to save Hakuto—whose death she had caused—and her determination to destroy Raelos.

So, while it is theoretically possible, the chances of a normal human gaining the powers of an incubus or succubus are close to zero.

«No, you can't!» Hakuto snaps, clearly irritated by her persistence. «I'm sure there are ways for a normal human without Sacred Fla to get superpowers, but I have no idea how. Chantal knows tons of stuff—way more than or anyone in our group. Why don't you ask her?»

«She doesn't seem all that helpful, but I'll try...» Lucrezia mutters, visibly upset by his tone.

Still sitting on his lap, she looks him in the eye with a mischievous grin.

«Since you didn't help get superpowers, you have to make it up to with a kiss!»

Hakuto doesn't even get the chance to respond—Lucrezia throws herself on him, slipping her tongue into his mouth.

Not that Hakuto had any intention of stopping her.

He was just about to say, "Maybe we should go sowhere more private—there are too many people here, it's embarrassing", but Lucrezia moved faster than any demon ever could.

«H-Hakuto...» Lucrezia murmurs, cheeks flushed. She feels sothing big and hard pressing against her butt through his jeans and her leggings. «...didn't expect that much libido. If you wanted more than just a kiss, you could've told . We'd have gone sowhere quieter...»

«That's exactly what I was about to say, but you didn't give the chance...» Hakuto mumbles.

Lucrezia jumps off his lap, and Hakuto quickly pulls down his hoodie to cover the very visible and very inconvenient bulge.

Not exactly sothing you want to show off in a park full of moms and kids.

But they don't even take a single step away from the bench before—

«Well, Hakuto Tendo. How do soone else's leftovers taste?»

A deep voice, one he knows far too well, rings out behind them.

Both of them recognize it instantly.

Tony Caspada.
