Kyra decided that three mates were more than enough and that she wouldn’t be taking on any more—it was simply too much trouble.
She adjusted the capsule settings, making both the outer and inner door wall layers transparent, allowing her to keep an eye on any potential threats outside while providing a clear view of the surroundings.
Kyra chose a warm sumr cottage the for the capsule, hoping it would bring so comfort from cold, as she entered, the living room greeted her with its cozy charm. An overstuffed sofa, adorned with floral-patterned cushions and a soft, woven throw blanket, stood invitingly in front of a rustic coffee table made of weathered wood.
A vase of fake wildflowers added a splash of color to the room, while the walls, covered in light pastel wallpaper, created a warm, welcoming ambiance.
The kitchen was a quaint, cottage-style haven with whitewashed cabinets and a classic farmhouse sink. Pale granite countertops and a wooden island with barstools added a touch of rustic elegance. The light blue floral-patterned backsplash and colorful dishes on open shelves brought a cheerful, sumry feel to the space.
Adjacent to the kitchen was the movie theater. Plush, overstuffed chairs were arranged in a semi-circle, each with a small wooden side table. Light, airy curtains lined the walls, and a large high-definition screen dominated one wall, Soft sconces provided a warm glow, creating a perfect setting for unwinding with a good film.
The office area was a quaint retreat with a vintage dark wood desk and a comfortable upholstered chair. The desk was neatly organized with frad scenery photographs, a small lamp with a stained glass shade, and a stack of notebooks, while the walls were decorated in calming colors and frad nature scenes.
"Little thing, how does your capsule work?" Damon asked, his voice curious as he trailed behind her. "I an, every ti you change the the, everything adjusts accordingly. How is this even possible?"
Kyra paused just as she was about to enter the room. She turned slightly, her eyes softening as she thought of the answer. The technology of her world still felt like a distant mory, yet it was a huge part of who she was. Adaptive Habitat Technology had been a breakthrough invention during the apocalypse in her world. It was designed to protect humans from zombies that had evolved into advanced predators, and only those who proved themselves through tasks in the base were given one. Over ten thousand capsules had been made, but each one had taken imnse resources and effort. They had beco symbols of survival and safety, not sothing handed out freely.
"It’s advanced technology," Kyra said softly, glancing back at Damon. She saw the understanding in his eyes and smiled aningfully. "From my world."
"Your world?" Damon echoed, the words sounding foreign on his lips. His silver eyes searched her face as if trying to grasp the full weight of what she had said.
The words sounded strange, as if they carried a deeper aning that was just out of his reach. Kyra didn’t say more, just smiled and walked further into the room. Lucas, standing nearby, bit his lip, recognizing the importance of what she had just said. She was about to tell Damon the truth—about where she ca from, what she had been through.
That ant she was beginning to accept him in ways she hadn’t before. The fact that she was even considering opening up about her past made Lucas’s chest tighten. Kyra wasn’t just revealing her world; she was making a choice, a choice to trust Damon more, to bring him deeper into her life.
"Your world..." Damon repeated, his voice soft yet full of curiosity as his hand gently closed around Kyra’s wrist, stopping her in her tracks.
Kyra smiled, stepping closer to him. She reached up and rested her hand on his rough cheek, gently stroking it as she whispered, "Let take a warm bath, and I’ll tell you everything." she whispered, her voice a soft promise.
She slowly moved away, her fingertips brushing his skin one last ti as she turned towards the wardrobe. Kyra’s hand slipped over the fabric as she selected a pink satin nightdress, the smooth material delicate beneath her touch. With that, she glided toward the bathroom, her thoughts swirling as she closed the door behind her.
Inside, she indulged in the warmth of the shower, letting the water cascade over her body, washing away the tension that had built up from the day. She took her ti washing her hair, the familiar motions soothing, and applied a delicate body scrub, working it gently into her skin to exfoliate and restore its softness. But as she looked around, Kyra realized her capsule’s body care supplies were dwindling. She’d need to find a solution soon—Though this world had basic soaps and shampoos, none of them could compare to the luxuriously formulated products from her own world.
Stepping out of the shower, she wrapped herself in a towel, patting her skin dry. She stood before the mirror, examining her reflection, noticing the slight flush in her cheeks as she smoothed scented lotion over her body. Her gaze flicked to the satin nightdress draped nearby, and she slipped it over her head. The cool fabric against her skin sent a shiver down her spine, though it wasn’t just the material that stirred sothing deep within her.
Kyra bit her lip, the stirrings of a new, unspoken desire rising within her. Her thoughts turned to Damon, Vincent and Lucas—how close they had beco, how their touch lingered on her skin even in their absence. She felt a pull, an unfamiliar yearning to be close to them in ways she hadn’t anticipated.
’Yes! I told you, you’d beco shaless!’ Kaia’s playful voice chid in her mind, teasing her as always.
Kyra rolled her eyes, though a small, knowing smile tugged at her lips. Perhaps Kaia was right. Perhaps she was beginning to unlock parts of herself that had been dormant for too long. A part of her that was ready to embrace sothing more, sothing deeper.
