As they walked back inside, Kyra looked up at them, her expression curious but calm. Damon approached her, his voice steady. "Everything is settled," he said. "We’ll be staying here for a while."

The healer took a seat in another chair and looked at Kyra kindly. "What’s your na, female?"

"Kyra." she replied with a smile.

"Good, good. So you have two mates, right? Where are they now?"

Kyra’s smile faded as she thought about that day. "I got lost here and separated from them." she said, her eyes becoming gloomy.

Seeing her distress, the healer stopped, not wanting to push her further. Damon watched her with his arms folded, his expression unreadable.

"Damon, I will give you dicine. Feed her after dinner and breakfast for three days. You can go to that ho; it’s empty. Your female needs rest, so all the processes will be done tomorrow." the healer said.

"Thanks, healer." Damon said.

Kyra also thanked him, and the healer waved his hand, smiling.

"There aren’t many beastn outside because it’s the ti of heavy winter. Although we have winter all year round, this ti is the most intense, and there might even be snowstorms." Damon said as he opened the door to a two-story wooden cottage. His eyes glinted as they fell on a wooden cottage beside their house, and his lips curled up in a smirk.

He opened the door, and Kyra was surprised to see the house was clean.

Noticing her expression, he chuckled. "The empty houses are cleaned weekly by council groups of males, so it’s clean," he explained.

Kyra stepped inside, her eyes taking in the interior. The wooden floors were polished, and a stone fireplace dominated one wall, already stocked with firewood. A simple but sturdy table stood in the center of the room, surrounded by four chairs. Shelves lined the walls, filled with jars and pottery.

"This is nice," Kyra said, running her hand along the back of a chair. "It feels... warm."

Damon nodded. "I thought you’d appreciate it. Upstairs, you’ll find the bedrooms. You can take the one on the left."

Kyra headed up the narrow staircase. The bedroom was just as well-kept as the rest of the house. A large bed with a thick quilt took up most of the space, and a window overlooked the snowy landscape outside, including the cottage near their house.

Downstairs, Damon busied himself with lighting the fireplace. Soon, the room was filled with a warm, flickering glow. He glanced up as Kyra descended the stairs.

"You look very familiar with this house." Kyra asked, noticing how Damon knew where everything was and how he lit the fireplace without hesitation.

The firelight cast a warm glow on his sharp features, but his hands paused at her words, gripping the wood log tightly. His expression darkened for a mont.

"Of course, I know," he replied, his voice tinged with an emotion she couldn’t quite place. "It used to be my house once." He looked at her, a fake smile masking whatever he was truly feeling.

Kyra’s curiosity grew, but she decided not to press him further.

However, she couldn’t resist asking another question. "Then why do you have to process for this house again?"

Hearing her, he chuckled. "I left this house three years ago, so I have to re-register and give council so hunt to reclaim," he explained, and Kyra nodded her head.

"Damon," she began hesitantly, "thank you for taking care of . I know you don’t have to."

He paused and looked at her, his eyes softening for a brief mont. "You should rest in your room. I’ll prepare so food for us." Damon said, turning away.

"I’ll help you," Kyra insisted, walking toward him.

"No, little thing, you need rest," Damon insisted. "I have to get sothing to eat from the council ration store for you. Don’t worry, I’ll lock you in from the outside so you can rest well inside. I’ll be back soon."

Kyra nodded, smiling faintly as he patted her head. Soon, she was alone in the house. She walked upstairs and looked out the window.

Her eyes fell on a large window of the cottage next door, where she saw movent and the flash of a silk white robe. Curious, she watched for a mont but soon dismissed it and lay down on the bed, lost in thought.

This place, though warm and safe, still felt unfamiliar. Thoughts of her mates filled her mind, and she wondered where they were and if they were looking for her.

Her eyelids grew heavy, and despite her worry, the exhaustion from the day’s events soon lulled her to sleep.

In her dreams, she saw the faces of Lucas, Toma, and Vincent, their expressions a mix of worry and fear for her.

She reached out to them, but they always seed just out of reach. The sense of longing grew stronger, making her heart ache.

Suddenly, she was awakened by a noise downstairs. Her heart pounded in her chest as she listened carefully, trying to determine what it was. Rembering Damon’s words about the lock, she felt a bit safer.

Kyra walked down carefully and saw Damon opening the door.

"Litle thing, why are you still awake?" Damon asked, putting down bags of vegetables and packs of at.

"I just woke up hearing the sound," she replied. "You just ca back?"

"Yeah... I’ll make us sothing soon." he said, walking toward the kitchen with the bags.

"I can really help you." Kyra said, following him.

"Fine," he said, irritated. "You can help."

They both moved around the kitchen, and Kyra noticed how seamlessly Damon navigated the space, his hands skillfully handling the ingredients. Despite his initial reluctance, he didn’t protest as she chopped vegetables and handed him spices.

"You’re good at this." Kyra remarked, watching him work.

Damon glanced at her, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "I’ve had a lot of practice."

However, Damon was surprised to see that this female knew how to cook. He watched her as she moved around the kitchen, her delicate profile illuminated by the warm glow of the fire.
