Kyra stood up, and Lucas and Vincent frowned as they followed her.
Kyra opened the door and saw a crowd gathered in front of her house, led by Sally.
The entire house was surrounded by beasts.
"You’re back. Why didn’t you call us?" Sally said, displeasure clear in her voice.
"Why should we need to tell you?" Kyra replied, standing near the railing and gripping it tightly.
She didn’t step down because the ground was muddy and wet from the rain.
"Of cour—" Sally began arrogantly, but her voice faltered when she noticed Vincent tilting his head to the side.
His expressionless eyes bore into her as if she were already dead, and he hissed at her without making a sound.
Her fear intensified when she saw him smirk.
He is feral! He doesn’t even care if he kills a female, Sally thought, swallowing hard and looking away from Vincent.
When she turned her gaze to Lucas, she found him staring at her without his usual expression.
His eyes were dark as he raised his hands, displaying his sharp nails.
Sally bit her lip and, pulling her mate close, shouted, "Ask this female if she has received the mark of the feral snake!"
Most of the crowd were males, there to see Kyra.
They murmured among themselves about how beautiful she was and how lucky Lucas was to have her.
The main reason they followed Sally was to show themselves to Kyra, hoping to be chosen as her mate if they got lucky.
"Why are you so concerned if I have received his mark or not? Are you up to sothing?" Kyra asked, sensing that Sally was acting suspiciously.
When they first t, Sally had been friendly and cute.
Now, she seed different—arrogant and annoying.
Kyra couldn’t shake the feeling that sothing was off.
Seeing Kyra’s suspicious gaze, Sally’s lips tightened.
She bit her lip to hide her nervousness.
Did this female notice sothing? Her heart pounded as she shouted, "You lied about mating the feral king! If you don’t have the mark, you’re a liar! I will ask Partrich to throw you out!" Sally’s anger was palpable, and her palms were sweaty.
No way, Kyra can’t notice what’s happening, Sally thought.
"Show your mark! Show your mark!" the crowd began to chant.
"Shut up!" Vincent growled. Shifting into a half-snake form, he raised his tail sharply.
"Anyone who dares to shout at her again will be thrown out of this world." he said coldly.
"And it’s none of your concern whether she has the mark or not. I’m counting to five. If you all don’t disappear, I’ll be happy to have a bloodbath," Vincent said, smirking. "And don’t think I’m joking. I’ve done it alot before." he added, laughing evilly.
His laughter and voice sent chills down everyone’s spines. Even Sally, usually bold, was terrified.
She had never faced such a powerful beast before, and his aura conveyed his high rank and authority.
"Five..."
"Four..."
"Three..."
"One!"
Everyone ran away, pushing each other in their haste to escape.
"You forgot to count two!" Lucas said from behind.
"I don’t care," Vincent replied, rolling his eyes.
These beasts are so weak and scared, Vincent thought.
How can they even protect the tribe?
Then he looked at Kyra, who was lost in thought as she looked down.
"What are you thinking, Ky-Ky?" Lucas asked, also noticing her distraction.
"Lucas, you knew Sally before, didn’t you? Don’t you think she’s different now? I haven’t known her for long, but she used to be friendly and approachable. Why is she behaving so differently?" Kyra asked, looking at Lucas. "You knew her before, right? She wasn’t like this before, was she?"
Lucas thought for a mont before speaking. "Yeah, she used to be friendly, though she had a bit of a an Evil because she tried to ss with my looks. But she wasn’t like this... It’s weird. Even though Sally loved Nathan, she didn’t react strongly when he got injured in fights with other males."
"Don’t think about her. She tried to harm Rainbow. She doesn’t deserve to even be ntioned. Let’s go inside," Vincent said as he put his hand on her back and led her inside.
When Kyra ntioned that Sally had changed, Lucas rembered many things.
It did feel like Sally was entirely different now. Sothing was wrong with her.
He thought deeply as he walked inside.

"I’m thinking about going back to the castle tomorrow to see little Toma. Do you want to co along?" Vincent asked as he saw Kyra sitting on the ground again, sketching.
"Yeah, I’d love to. I haven’t seen him for many days. I miss the little guy," Kyra said, rembering their first eting.
The little snake had climbed over every snake to see her, and she smiled a little at the mory.
"Why do you only have one room?" Vincent asked Lucas when he ca back.
"Because I used to live alone," Lucas replied without looking at him.
Vincent stopped asking questions and sat next to Kyra, watching her draw.
She was deeply focused, her attention entirely on the sketch in front of her.
While Vincent found the blueprints boring, he loved watching her hands move gracefully across the paper. Her fair, soft hands seed perfect to him, and he imagined how they would fit in his larger ones.
Since Vincent was there to take care of Kyra, Lucas decided to check the back of his house and the roof.
He needed to ensure everything was in order because last year, heavy rain had damaged his roof, causing water to drip into his room.
Although the rainy season was over, the weather had been unpredictable lately, and he didn’t want to take any chances.
Shifting into his wolf form, Lucas quickly jumped onto the roof.
He surveyed everything, looking for any signs of damage.
The cold, fresh air ruffled his fur as he looked around, checking for loose shingles or leaks.
From his vantage point, he could see his carrot farm and the mango tree that used to be filled with fruit but was now empty.
"WHAT?"
