Liang Chen noticed Jing Haohao’s persistent silence whenever the topic of pregnancy arose. Feeling a twinge of hurt, he diverted his gaze to a wedding invitation lying on her bedside table. He reached over, picked it up and flipped it twice before recognizing it as Shen Liangnian and Qiao Wennuan’s invitation. In an effort to dissipate the tension erging from the discussion about children, he asked, “Did they send it over?”
“No, I ran into Qiao Wennuan when I was out shopping today,” Jing Haohao replied.
“Hmm…” Liang Chen nodded, fidgeted with the invitation card for a while and tossed it back onto the bedside table, saying, “We’ll both go on their wedding day.”

The foreign client stayed in Jiangshan City for a whole week before leaving. At the sa ti, Jiangshan Group resud its normal operations, marking the start of the New Year’s work. Liang Chen was swamped with work.
During the first week, Jing Haohao conveniently hid her nstruation from Liang Chen. The second week, just as Jing Haohao contemplated plausible excuses, Liang Chen had to go on a business trip and left Beijing.
By the ti he returned, it was already midnight on the 13th of March. Jing Haohao was fast asleep. Thinking about Shen Liangnian’s and Qiao Wennuan’s wedding the next day and the fatigue from his journey, he did not want to disturb Jing Haohao and quickly fell asleep.
The next day, when Jing Haohao woke up, Liang Chen was already gone. She only realized his arrival when she saw his clothes strewn on the sofa.
While eating breakfast, Nanny Lin inford her, “Master Chen went to a eting at the company this morning. He said he would pick you up later to attend a friend’s wedding.”

At ten in the morning, Liang Chen returned ho just as Nanny Lin was helping Jing Haohao choose from a pile of clothes. He randomly picked out a suit for himself from the dressing room, then pointed out a dress that complented his choice and said, “Wear that one.”
Nanny Lin presented Jing Haohao with the dress Liang Chen had chosen. Jing Haohao nodded in agreent without any objection.

When Liang Chen and Jing Haohao left the house, it was already half past ten.
The wedding venue for Shen Liangnian and Qiao Wennuan was in Lavender Manor, in the suburbs, not far from Liang Chen’s villa. It only took half an hour’s drive to get there.
Liang Chen parked the car in the manor’s parking lot, then got off the car and walked in with Jing Haohao.
There were already quite a few people in Lavender Manor. The outdoor wedding was decorated romantically with a canopy of lilies and roses. A red carpet, strewn with multi-colored rose petals, stretched underneath. The scent of blooming flowers wafted in the breeze.
