After being able to mute myself for a few seconds, I knew for a fact that sound magic was possible.
Aside from eliminating the sound waves, I could also amplify them, making my voice sound as loud as a speaker. Maybe even louder.
However, I didn’t try it, knowing it was nightti in the castle. The least I needed at that mont was a bunch of people barging into my room, thinking sothing was wrong.
As I started to create the enchantnt, I used one of the small rubies to see how much magic it could take before shattering. To my surprise, it could take quite a bit.
With the first ruby turned to dust, I grabbed another one and kept the magic dose smaller. However, as soon as the spell turned into an enchantnt, the second ruby shattered, too.
’Hmm. It can contain raw magic, but it can’t hold the full enchantnt...’ I thought, Vespera watching work closely as she didn’t want to miss any details.
Grabbing one of the larger sapphires, I tried doing the sa enchantnt, and to my surprise, it was able to hold it. The blue gemstone now produced a shine every few seconds, which told that the magic inside was successfully contained.
Holding a second sapphire in my hand and placing it close to the enchanted one, I cast a second spell, connecting both gems by using the sound waves in the environnt.
With the two sapphires producing the sa glow and feeling the connection between them, I tested them as I elaborated to Vespera how the enchantnt worked.
The gemstone’s enchantnt was done with sound magic, and it allowed voice ssages to be recorded and sent to the other crystal.
It didn’t work exactly like a phone, but it was close enough.
Gemstones could only send voice ssages to the ones they were connected to, so if I wanted to talk to several people, I would have to carry a few more of the gemstones with .
Vespera pondered if the distance wouldn’t disturb the connection between the gemstones. However, since the ssage would travel with magic using sound waves, I deduced that voice ssages would take longer to receive relative to how far they were.
Now that I had created the new enchantnt to record sounds, I went ahead and tried making another variation. This ti, it would be a single gemstone that could produce a recorded ssage.
My idea was to create sothing that resembled a music box, but instead of playing music by using engineering, it would simply play a pre-recorded song using magic.
I had an idea of how to make it more presentable so that it wasn’t just a gemstone. However, since it was late at night, I had to wait until the following day to continue.
Early in the morning, I left the castle quickly before lina could see and visited the blacksmith called Leonard, who specialized in making scabbards for weapons.
He was the craftsman that made the scabbard coated with adamantite inside, which allowed our mithril weapons to be teleported with us since both tals canceled each other’s effects.
Inquiring if I had a new project, I confird it and explained my idea as I showcased the sound magic with the gemstones.
I asked him to make a small wooden box coated with adamantite on the inside. That way, I could cast extra enchantnts inside the box, and the tal coating on the inside would keep the magic flowing.
Luckily, Leonard said that it shouldn’t be too hard of a task for him. Even though he had never made a small box like that, he had crafted way more complicated pieces.
"Co by tomorrow morning. I’ll have it ready," Leonard said.
’Wow, that’s fast...’ I thought, believing that it would take him several days. However, Leonard had already proven himself to be extrely good at his job, so I had no reason not to believe him.
After quickly returning to the castle by teleporting to my room, I found the princess, my companion, and the maids inside.
As soon as I appeared, she instantly asked about my whereabouts, but to hide the gift, I told her that I had gone for a quick walk to check on sothing.
"Check on what?" she asked with genuine curiosity.
"It’s a surprise," I replied, making her pout adorably.
"I promise I’ll tell you, okay? Just give a few days." I continued, making her smile as she grabbed my hand and pulled all the way to the garden to have breakfast.
After relaxing the rest of the day, I kept working on my sound magic at night, making a few other "voice gems," as I called them.
I made the first pair so I could talk with lina when she attended the academy, but I was starting to think that others would appreciate having sothing like this, and I was sure the king and queen would like one, too.
The following day, I returned to Leonard’s store, and just as he said, he had finished the box. The wood on the outside had a refined burnish, and when opened, I could see the adamantite layer covering all the corners of the box like a perfect puzzle piece.
I paid the man for his work and quickly returned to the castle to spend the day hanging out with lina, although I couldn’t wait to keep working on the project.
That sa night, I teleported back to my ho in End Town and went to the small terrace where we had the piano that the king had sent .
Grabbing one of the enchanted gemstones, I placed it on top of the instrunt and started playing as the gem recorded the music.
A few minutes later, the ssage was recorded, and I could hear it from the gem whenever I applied a hint of magic to it. However, that was only the first step.
Teleporting back to my room in the castle, I placed a gravity enchantnt inside the box. Of course, it wasn’t a powerful enchantnt by any ans.
The point was that the gem would gently levitate and slowly spin when the box opened. It was a simple decoration, but one I thought made it look ten tis better than having the gem simply sit inside.
The whole point of the adamantite layer inside the box was for this reason, so the magic wouldn’t dissipate as long as it kept flowing through the tal.
I nodded as I stared at the final result with pride, Vespera and Yoru carefully examining the box with curiosity.
I wanted to show it to the dwarf who sold the gemstones, Dhorc since he seed interested in my experint. However, I couldn’t think of a way to do it without the princess noticing other than going early in the morning.
’Oh well, I’ll show him whenever I can...’ I thought as I stood up and crashed on the bed.
I was exhausted after days of secretly experinting throughout the night. Nonetheless, instead of having a nice and comfortable sleep after burying my face in the pillows, I suddenly felt my body shifting as if soone had moved the room around .
When I looked back up, I was in an ethereal plain, similar to the one where I t Phelena and the other gods. However, I couldn’t see any of them around.
Instead, I saw the silhouette of a man wearing a robe, standing quite far from where I appeared.
"Is that another god?" I pondered out loud, and right then, the man appeared in front of in the blink of an eye.
He locked his eyes with while keeping his cold expression, making feel slightly intimidated. The man was tall and slender but portrayed an aura of danger.
His eyes shined purple, and his hair seed to change colors between light blue and purple.
Suddenly, the man nodded with approval, as if he was checking for sothing, and stepped back a few feet away from .
"It’s nice to et you, little brother. My na is Asys," he said, his tone soft and gentle.
"I’m Ichiro. It’s nice to et you too, but ummm..." I said with a hint of nervousness.
Asys nodded, knowing the questions that plagued my mind. "I’m the God of Magic. I brought you here because I found you fit for a title," he stated.
Hearing him talk, I rembered the ti I t Sirica and Hephaestus. They were both quite bubbly for being gods, but their presence still felt quite intimidating.
I t them because they were interested in the stuff I was making at the ti, and they ended up giving a title after our eting.
Now that Asys had called , I believed it had sothing to do with the sound magic I had recently developed.
"Your assumptions are correct, Ichiro," he comnted, but I hadn’t said anything other than being deep in thought.
"You have created quite a few different spells, and I believe it is ti for to reward you..." he continued.
