When facing Xalathas while hovering high above in the skies, the demon clenched his large blade, which made feel as if his aura had changed, growing more eerie and nasty.

I couldn’t tell if Xalathas was showing his final form, but considering he hadn’t changed his appearance since the beginning of the fight, I thought that he still had a lot more power in store.

Holding my bo tightly, the two of us propelled forward in the air and clashed our weapons, breaking the thunderous clouds in the sky and releasing a shockwave that reverberated in the area.

After deflecting a few of Xalathas attacks and jumping back to gain so distance, I pointed my finger up and waved it down, making the demon king drop his head laterally for a mont in confusion.

"What did you just do?" Xalathas calmly asked .

"I wonder..." I replied, instantly propelling forward and unleashing a barrage of attacks with my bo.

The demon king was exceptionally experienced in holding a sword, which was strange since they obviously never received any proper training, and while he didn’t have any form or stance, his slices and blocks were perfect.

’30 more seconds...’ I thought.

As I rushed for another attack, Xalathas raised his blade over his head and sliced down, making the space around his blade warp and wrinkle as if it were paper, generating a flying black slice directed at .

The arched projectile seed to twist the space around it, and its speed and size made it difficult for to avoid altogether.

Normally, I could have used other spells to protect myself, but the energy coming from his attack was so powerful and mysterious that I wasn’t sure which kind of magic I should use for it.

’It’s slicing the space itself...’ I thought, my eyes widened, thinking of an alternative.

I had used "barrier" magic before, but it was so taxing on my MP that it never seed worth using. Still, since I couldn’t visualize any other magic that could stop the attack, I had no other choice.

Raising my arm forward with my palm open, I focused on creating a magical barrier, which looked as if a thin glass screen was hovering in front of .

However, when the space-slicing black projectile made contact with my barrier, it warped along with the rest of the space and broke through, hitting straight in the chest and leaving a diagonal slash traveling from my shoulder to my waist.

Everything slowed down for a minute. Or, at least, that’s how it looked to , and when I saw my own blood bursting out, my body reacted on its own and completely covered myself in gravity magic.

The attack I received was so severe that my body used gravity magic to prevent my blood and guts from gushing out—it was a lethal attack.

When I raised my gaze in that brief mont that felt slowed down, Xalathas raised his blade in the air again and prepared himself to release another space-slicing attack. Nevertheless, Yoru instantly appeared from behind the demon king and bit his raised arm with ferocity, severing it from the king’s body.

["Ichiro!"] Vespera’s voice echoed in my head.

Looking to the side, I spotted Vespera flying directly towards the demon king, but before she could reach him, she threw sothing at that I barely managed to catch with one hand as my body started to feel the pain from the slash.

"Heh..." Seeing the healing potion, I smiled and quickly took a swig not to die.

"Now!" I shouted to my companions, making them separate from Xalathas in an instant as the sun was darkened by my magic.

It had already been thirty seconds since I pointed upwards, and the teorite I called using gravity magic was finally coming down.

When I called down a whole rain of teors in the Northern Empire, I had to use quite a bit of MP to bring them down. However, I didn’t want to do the sa aimlessly, so I tried to find a teor that would follow my target.

Xalathas looked up at the massive flaming ball coming down, and his eyes widened montarily with shock, which was the most emotions the demon had shown since the start of the battle.

Still, even with one arm, Xalathas was able to summon his blade and make it appear in his hand, releasing his mysterious power at the teor.

Before the spell struck, I could already tell that it would slice the teor in half. However, I had done more than simply bring the asteroid down.

As the black slice made contact, a massive explosion was generated from the impact that was absorbed by the arched projectile, slicing the flaming boulder in half and making it seem as if the two remaining pieces would fall around Xalathas.

Closing my fist tightly, I commanded the two pieces of the slashed teorite with gravity magic and forcefully slamd them together with Xalathas in the middle, crushing him between the two flaming boulders.

When I clenched my fist harder, the teorites started to crumble from the pressure of pushing against each other. Moreover, I could sense Xalathas demonic energy increasing dramatically.

For a mont, I really thought that I could end it all there, and as the demon king kept getting crushed by my spell, I decided to use my Awakening.

Taking one deep breath and calmly exhaling, I thought about using my "phoenix fire" awakening, as I considered it was one that I had mastered already. However, when I began to charge my body with MP, I felt Ovi touching my cheek with his face.

"Hmm?" I humd, looking down at my shoulder and seeing Ovi’s body producing a faint glow, which was the sa color as the aura that oozed from .

"Ovi, what are you– !?" I tried to speak up, but before I could finish the question, I felt like another type of Awakening was trying to co out.

I almost tried fighting the urge of Awakening with a magic that I wasn’t familiar with, but strangely, I could feel Ovi’s determination and hope—an effect of our familiar contract.

"Alright, Ovi... I’ll listen to you," I muttered, letting go of my resistance and allowing the new Awakened form to take my body.
