As I quickly flew to the other side of a hill, where I sensed Drakzen’s demonic energy, I used telepathy to inform Vespera of my arrival.

Nessa and Jackson promptly stepped away from Drakzen, allowing Frost to use his ice magic to freeze the ground in an instant, halting the devil’s movents for a brief mont.

Drakzen didn’t look stressed about his situation, but when Vespera used all her spider legs to whip and stab him in a relentless barrage of attacks, he had no choice but to divert all of his attention into defending himself.

’Perfect...’ I thought, and taking the opportunity to catch him by surprise, I cast lightning and fire magic to increase my speed drastically.

In the blink of an eye, I landed right beside Drakzen, who couldn’t step away as his feet were frozen to the ground, and his hands were busy protecting himself from Vespera’s onslaught.

Striking him in the head with such force that his feet were separated from the frozen ground and blasted away over twenty ters to the side, Yoru used his shadow to appear right below Drakzen and clawed his chest, pushing him upwards into the air.

Following up on Yoru’s attack, Vespera caught up to the devil, stabbed his ribs with one of her spider legs, and kicked him back down to the ground, generating a massive crater on the spot where he landed.

Still, our combo wasn’t over, and as the smoke and dirt slowly dissipated from the crater, I was hovering in the air above it, pointing my palm up into the sky.

When I waved my arm down and pointed at Drakzen below , a massive and blinding beam of light shot down from the sky directly into the crater, generating an enormous explosion that pushed all of us away.

Even though any other demon general would’ve probably died to that combination attack, I was sure that Drakzen was still alive since he hadn’t even unleashed his final form.

As long as Drakzen stayed in his hybrid form, where he looked like a human with horns, he wouldn’t be pushed to his limits.

"Not bad, Ichiro..." Drakzen muttered from below.

"It’s our turn now," he continued, making look around for Agares, whom I had blasted away seconds before.

Taking his wings out from his back, Drakzen flew up into the air, but instead of targeting , I noticed him flying way higher, so I understood that he wasn’t referring to when he talked about "their turn."

"lina!" I shouted, using sound magic to make my voice resonate as loud as thunder.

For that brief window of ti that didn’t last more than five seconds, my senses were sharper than ever, as if I could sense every single living being in a massive radius around .

In the sky, a little over 300 ters away from , lina and Xalathas were fighting, but I could sense Agares approaching her from behind and Drakzen from the bottom.

I couldn’t see lina since the dark and thunderous clouds generated from their battle covered them from our field of vision, but my senses allowed to pinpoint her exact location.

Even if I used lightning and fire magic to propel myself, I could tell that I wouldn’t be fast enough to reach in ti, and in that split second that felt much longer to , I charged my body entirely with light magic.

’I’ve never tried this, but it’s my best option...’ I thought.

As my body literally turned into light particles, I was sent flying at light speed and reappeared behind lina, placing my bo in front of and deflecting Agares’ surprise attack, which was aid at her back.

Agares widened his eyes in disbelief, though he still had a smile after I blocked his claws. "Woah, sage... Are you telling you can move at lightspeed?" he asked with a smirk.

lina, who instantly understood what was happening, moved to the side to avoid Drakzen’s attack and cast a powerful wind spell to blow him away.

"Enough!" lina shouted with a commanding tone that resonated in the skies.

Clenching the hilt of her blade, streaks of lightning began to appear around her body, and when Arashi let out a powerful roar that made the skies rumble and thunder, her weapon changed shape and turned into a spear seemingly made of pure electricity.

"Aha! That must be the ’Awakening’ I’ve heard so much about..." Agares comnted, and his excitent instantly died down when lina fixed her gaze on him.

*Bzz* A faint buzz could be heard, and before anyone could notice, lina was standing face-to-face with Agares, her hair flowing in the air and her eyes glowing with the sa blueish hue as her magic.

lina didn’t move a muscle, and as Agares raised his claws to attack her with a bit of hesitation, a massive bolt of lightning appeared from above and struck the demon, utterly blinding everyone else and making Agares plumt to the ground.

I didn’t want us to use our ’Awakening’ powers before the demons showed us their true forms since our transformations usually burned through our MP at a rapid pace, so it was an ability that was better suited to finish the battle.

We had both received a few boons from the gods to help us with those limitations, but I was still playing it safe by not revealing my ’Awakening’ just yet.

Right after lina got Agares away from our sight, her attention switched to Drakzen, who instantly charged himself up with power, understanding that he could die if he weren’t careful.

"I see... That’s a mighty power indeed," Xalathas comnted after seeing lina bolting down towards Drakzen.

I was left hovering high up in the air, facing the Demon King himself, who kept his attention on lina with a mix of interest and wariness.

"If you surrender and go back, you won’t have to deal with that..." I said. While I knew they weren’t going to give up that easily, I still thought it was worth asking.

Xalathas started chuckling until his laugh beca louder, confidently locking his eyes with mine.

"Your kindness is being wasted, Sage Ichiro... I would suggest you keep your head in our battle," He said, changing his stance and preparing himself to attack .
