When we made our way out of Black Ice Pinnacle, Fuego was kind enough to lower all of the walls in the labyrinth, making it a single path that we needed to follow to get out of the cave.

Vespera made a little pouch to carry the egg, which had an enchantnt to keep it warm inside.

I couldn’t just stow away the egg inside my void pocket. Since everything stored inside was frozen in ti, the egg would halt its process of hatching if I put it in there.

Our next stop was reuniting with Rio and Lampart, the two mbers of the Dawn’s Defenders (DD) who were sent to the north along with half of the other mbers.

They were the ones who sent a ssage saying that they needed backup soon, or I would have traveled to Vista with lina. However, they were taking a long ti to send their exact location, so I started getting worried.

While we got out of the cave, I sent them a couple more voice ssages asking them for directions until we reached the outside.

Fuego and my companions must have noticed my stress and said that we should start making our way to the southwest, which was the last location that Rio ntioned to us.

"We can’t be too hasty. What if one of those eyes sees us?" I said to my group, who seed eager to fly away into the distance.

Still, just as I finished speaking, my voice crystal lit up with a ssage, and I quickly grabbed it to listen to it.

["Ichiro... Accursed Beasts... west..."] said Lampart’s voice from the crystal.

His ssage sounded like it was being interrupted by static, which made no sense since it wasn’t supposed to work like a telephone.

I supposed that sothing must have been releasing a lot of MP or demonic energy to ss with the magical wavelengths that the voice crystals used.

Nevertheless, I heard the words "Accursed Beasts" and "west," so we at least knew which direction to take.

I was still a bit worried about getting spotted by Baelzor’s eyes, noting that we still had the elent of surprise to play to our advantage, so Fuego had a solution for us.

"Even if the eyes see , I don’t think the devils will act on it..." he elaborated.

The devils were solely interested in Fuego’s egg, so if they knew that he was flying around the continent, they were most likely going to try to avoid him instead of fighting him head-on.

"If anything, they’ll probably send soone to look for the egg in my cave once they see outside," Fuego continued.

"But they won’t know that we are the ones who have it..." I finished the sentence, believing that it was our best option.

Fuego nodded before having his body magically covered in lava, asking us to step away from him as he transford into his "second largest form."

I asked Vespera what he ant by that, and she told that dragons were able to alter their size with magic.

It was pretty much the sa magic that Yoru would use to make himself smaller when we went into cities, as his actual size was pretty intimidating.

However, a dragon could get fifty tis bigger than Yoru in his largest form, so it wasn’t even comparable.

Fuego wasn’t even in his most prominent transformation, and he was still the size of a castle’s tower, which made wonder how much larger his final form would be.

Still, size didn’t equal more power. In fact, having a massive size compared to your opponents could be seen as a disadvantage, depending on who you were fighting.

Fuego wasn’t transforming to beco more powerful but to have enough space for all of us to ride on his back and stay hidden from Baelzor’s eyes.

"We’ll make it to the west shore in a few minutes..." said the dragon as we all climbed on his back.

’A few minutes!?’ I thought, wholly surprised.

It would have taken us a few hours of flying at max speed to reach the west side of the continent, so I was starting to think that we should ask Fuego to fly us more often.

Before taking flight, I sent a voice ssage to Rio and Lampart saying I would be on the west shore soon.

We didn’t even know if they were that far west. Still, Fuego said that the west side of the continent was relatively narrow, so he would be able to feel any disturbance from hundreds of kiloters from his location.

As soon as the dragon launched himself high in the air, my group and I had to hold tight onto his scales to avoid slipping. Suddenly, it felt like a sonic boom retumbled around us as Fuego started flying faster than a jet.

I could feel my cheeks getting blown away by the strong wind that was hitting us, which made realize that Fuego didn’t cover his body with wind magic when flying.

Whenever I flew, I used a wind spell to have an almost invisible sphere of air around , which would deflect away any dust, insects, and strong winds that could hit us while flying.

Obviously, the dragon didn’t need to do that, which was fair. However, we were the ones suffering from it, so I helped out and cast the wind orb around Fuego, making the high-speed flight sowhat more enjoyable.

After flying for a little over six minutes, the west shore of the continent was visible in the distance. However, Fuego reduced his speed to the point where he almost fully stopped mid-air.

"That way..." said the dragon, turning slightly to the north.

’I don’t sense anything...’ I thought.

From what I could tell, Fuego was using his own version of a "search" spell, but compared to mine, he could sense enemies in areas that we weren’t even able to see from the sky.

"I’m trusting your instincts..." I replied, allowing the dragon to travel to the area of interest.

A few seconds after he got closer, my group and I spotted a trail of black smoke coming from the place where Fuego was taking us, so I confird that the dragon’s senses were the real deal.
