As we kept talking with everyone we had saved in Yuandu, the prince told us about how, right after he planned Yujun’s escape, he was taken to the dungeon.
Apparently, Vyrazul would beat him almost daily as punishnt for "embarrassing her in public" and "withholding information from her," which referred to him helping his little brother.
After the royals finished their side of the story, Jackson and Karla ca next.
They ca to Guanghua directly after leaving End Town, which made no sense to since they were adventurers, and this place didn’t have any guilds after Vyrazul beca the empress.
However, Jackson knew this, but he also knew about Vyrazul’s plans and decided he would do his best to stop her.
"Why would you do that, though? I thought you wanted a peaceful life..." I said to my friend.
Jackson smiled, looking a bit regretful. "Heh, I guess I just wanted to ease my friend’s burden..." he replied.
After Jackson left the devils’ side to beco a human, he always felt guilty inside as he felt that people in the world would suffer because of their presence there.
He beca an adventurer so that he could help other people and make him feel more human, but after hearing about defeating Armaros and Zagor, he decided to take action against them, too.
Nessa left the devils’ side a few months later, wanting to follow Jackson’s steps toward true freedom, but she never managed to find him until now.
When Jackson and Karla arrived at the capital, they were lucky enough to see the attack on Leslie’s family, so they interrupted it.
Leslie’s father perished under the hands of Sinoc, but her mother got saved thanks to the potion that Karla dumped on her before running away with Leslie.
Jackson made a deal with Vyrazul that he wouldn’t interfere with her plans as long as he allowed Leslie and her mother to keep living.
Vyrazul agreed, but she still took the mother to the dungeon, saying that as long as she didn’t die, then their contract wouldn’t be broken.
Of course, that wasn’t exactly what Jackson had in mind when making the demonic vow with her, but it was a better alternative than having her killed.
A few days later, they witnessed the attack on Yujun and his guards, but since Jackson couldn’t interfere due to the vow, it was Karla who rushed in and saved the kid.
That sa day, they received a visit from Vyrazul, who looked angry at Jackson for using a loophole against her, even though it was the sa thing she had done to them.
The devil said she would kill the child herself, but Jackson added another condition to their contract, saying that Vyrazul could take him to the dungeon in exchange for the kids to be spared.
Vyrazul thought about it for a mont and said that she would do it as long as Karla was also sent to the dungeon.
Jackson tried to decline, but Karla was ahead of him and accepted the devil’s conditions.
After the two of them said their goodbyes to Leslie, they were sent to the palace’s dungeon, where they had been waiting for .
It took a few years, but I eventually found them.
Once their report was done, lina spoke up about her findings and introduced us to two "demonoids" that she encountered when kidnapping the old man Yushan.
I was shocked at first when I saw the two demonoids were the sa two from the Scarlet Trio that I beat up quite a bit before they rushed out of our battle.
I thought that lina would either kill them or leave them unconscious, but I truly wasn’t expecting her to befriend them.
Well, to be fair, they looked pretty scared for their lives, which made think that lina wasn’t being super friendly with them. Nonetheless, they explained in detail what Vyrazul had been doing at Phelena’s temple.
I didn’t even know that there was a temple in Guanghua, which would explain why I had no idea of the experints that Vyrazul was conducting there.
Kana and Igor, the two demonoids, explained that hundreds of people had been taken to the temple to go through the demonic energy infuse operation. However, they were the only two survivors.
They told us that the devil had slowed down her experints, but there were still people inside the temple that were being used for newer ones. Nevertheless, they didn’t know the details about it.
I asked how Vyrazul got a hold of Minotaur, and they said that it had been a gift by another devil.
’Hmmm, that sounds like Drakzen. He is the one going around creating Accursed Beasts...’ I thought.
I also asked about Sinoc, and while Kana and Igor didn’t know much about him, they said that he was the only person at the temple who willingly went through the procedure of infusing demonic energy into his body.
The difference was that Sinoc beca a "superior demonoid," which was supposedly stronger than colored demons.
Once the demonoids were done with their explanations, the battle-maids gave us a report on the settlent.
Yuandu had grown quite a lot after we sent thousands of enslaved villagers there, and while plenty of them decided to take other magic quartz to other countries, lots of them were staying there, saying they wanted to help the revolution.
In between those villagers that we saved, there were blacksmiths and tailors who were now working to make weapons and clothing for the people at the settlent.
They even organized large teams of soldiers to free more slaves in small towns that were closer to our settlent.
Considering that most of their defense would be focused on the capital, it was a great thing to have smaller militias attacking small towns and freeing the slaves there. That way, Vyrazul would have more trouble delegating her troops.
All we could do now was wait a few more days for the food supply in the capital to dwindle with the absence of the Yushan family.
Once the capital was unrested, our ti to attack and take down Vyrazul would arrive.
