During our fight with Drakzen, we all suddenly felt an incredibly powerful presence coming from the area where my companions were fighting Salamandra.
Sohow, it made and Drakzen worried, which was strange since he was a devil and always acted calmly and sarcastically. Still, he looked clearly distressed by the mysterious presence.
When we both flew up, we saw a blue beam of light coming from the sky, followed by fire explosions that were lighting up the entire forest.
The power that we felt was so overwhelming that it made us stop fighting for a mont, almost as if we were taking a break.
"Seems I need to check sothing out..." Drakzen said.
Realizing that he was about to leave, I quickly rushed and used my bo to attack his face, which, of course, he blocked with his forearm.
"And why would I let you leave so easily?" I asked.
"Heh, how annoying..." Drakzen replied.
"You are one to talk!" I said, feeling frustrated that the most annoying person in the world called that.
"You are distracted..." lina muttered as she appeared behind Drakzen, using her estoc to slice an "x" on his back.
The devil turned and used his blood magic to create a slicing arc, but lina had already left his blind spot and avoided his counterattack.
"Heh, he really is distracted..." I muttered to Nessa, who stood next to with anger in her eyes.
Taking the opportunity, the three of us kept attacking Drakzen without leaving him any room to breathe or think. Even then, the devil was keeping up with our movents.
Suddenly, I felt as if the lunar energy that covered the forest started to envelop my body—a familiar feeling.
’Is this... Yoru’s moon buff?’ I wondered as I stared at my hands, oozing with moon magic.
’I can do it... I can use the moon awakening right here, right now...’
Taking a deep breath, I started to focus my MP inside of and recalled the feeling I had when I awakened for the first ti.
Looking back, it was always my emotions that let tap into that power, the feelings of desperation and helplessness when facing off against these powerful beings.
However, I was now fighting with all my close friends and didn’t feel as powerless as before. It was a new feeling that I had now.
’I’ll protect everyone...’ I thought.
As my figure glowed even more, shiny, runic tattoos appeared on my skin, and I could feel my hair flowing from the overwhelming energy coursing through my body.
"Seems like it’s really ti for to leave, then..." Drakzen muttered.
Before he could take one step, I was already standing next to him and pointed my palm at his face.
"Disappear, then..." I said, generating a massive lunar blast from my palm that literally vaporized everything in front of , not even leaving a patch of grass untouched.
’I missed...’ I thought, still feeling Drakzen’s demonic energy around us.
Using my "search" spell that could now reach even longer distances thanks to the moon buff and the awakening, I noticed that he was rushing to the location where my companions were.
lina and Nessa started making their way there, using their powers to boost their speed. Still, I was at least ten tis faster than them in this form.
On our way, I saw massive fiery hands towering over the tall pine trees in the forest, which made worry a little since I knew it was Salamandra’s power.
But, just as quick as they appeared, they suddenly dispersed into thin air.
’What the hell is happening there...!?’ I wondered, boosting my speed even more and catching up with Drakzen, who was re ters away from the site.
Arriving at the sa ti as my opponent, we found a beastkin with long black hair and wolf features oozing incredible amounts of lunar energy.
He was standing on top of Salamandra’s decapitated corpse as his shadowy claw dripped with the blood of the Accursed Beast.
’Who the hell is this dude!?’ I wondered.
As the man turned around and made eye contact with , I instantly recognized him.
"Yoru...?" I hesitantly asked.
I could tell it was my companion. He was hard to recognize at first from the back, but his eyes looked exactly the sa as they always had.
Yoru didn’t respond, and as I got distracted by his appearance, Drakzen suddenly appeared next to him and kicked him away from Salamandra’s corpse.
My companion did a flip and skillfully landed on his feet after receiving a kick from the devil, but Drakzen was mostly focused on the corpse of his subordinate.
"This is quite the problem..." the devil muttered.
Right on ti, Vespera returned holding two greater demons with her spiderwebs and dragging them to us, followed by lina and Nessa’s arrival.
Everyone was focused on Drakzen, but it was still hard to ignore the powerful wolf beastkin standing with us.
"Umm, who’s this?" lina asked with confusion.
"You don’t recognize him?" I asked, making her widen her eyes as she realized who it was.
Drakzen stood alone before our group.
The Legendary Beast Vespera could easily keep fighting.
The new Legendary Beast Yoru, who was probably the strongest in our group at that mont, was also ready.
Nessa, who had released her full powers; lina, who could keep casting powerful spells; and I, who had been awakened.
Even the maids stood up and raised their weapons, and while they were exhausted, they could still prove to be a big problem to Drakzen if he lost his focus.
"This is just one battle. The war is yet to be decided..." Drakzen muttered.
Suddenly, his demonic energy increased drastically. I’m talking about an increase of at least twenty tis as powerful as before.
Even when I was in my awakened form, it made my body shiver as it felt like his evil aura covered the entire area we were in.
Everything turned black, and I found myself standing in the middle of nothing.
’What the-?’ I thought.
Still, the feeling only lasted for a few seconds, and when I returned to reality, I was standing next to my group in the sa spot we were before.
The two greater demons that Vespera caught were gone, along with Drakzen, whose demonic energy had disappeared entirely.
