The day after we defeated the dune worm, we had breakfast with the sultan and his family and teleported straight to the capital of the Droman Empire.

It was quite a big jump, and after we arrived, we instantly drank an MP potion so we wouldn’t feel too dizzy and walked around town for so ti, admiring the scenery with lina.

Later that day, we went to the castle to et with Empress Lysandra since she told she wanted to et lina during our ti in the war.

When we arrived, the guards opened the gates for us without asking any questions, and a servant ran inside to alert them of our arrival.

I didn’t like making a big deal of my visit, but lina was the princess of another nation, so they had to show their respects nonetheless.

After we were guided to a waiting room by another servant, the imperial family made their entrance. Empress Lysandra, Prince Cedric, and Princess Arabella—the three living mbers of the Argentum family.

For whatever reason, Arabella looked a bit dejected when she first saw us, but after lina introduced herself, the two princesses moved to the side of the room to talk with each other.

I couldn’t really tell what they were talking about, but I did hear my na ntioned a few tis in their conversation.

Still, I wanted to talk with the empress about Jen joining our alchemists at End Forest.

I had discussed it with the empress before, and now that I brought it up again, she told that she had completed the written contract with all the details.

Jeniffer could co to End Forest to study alchemy as long as a steady supply of potions was sent to the Droman Empire, which wasn’t really a problem since I wanted to export my potions all around the continent.

"Well, we still need Jen’s approval. If she doesn’t want to go, I will not force her..." the empress said, calling one of the servants and asking them to bring Jeniffer to the castle.

Lysandra told that, usually, a summon from the imperial family wouldn’t be sent to soone on the sa day. But given that the Argentum family and the Lovegrad family had a strong bond, it was more like a friendly invitation.

Cedric seed interested in our conversation and joined us. anwhile, lina and Arabella were gossiping with each other on the side of the room and chuckling to themselves.

A few hours later, everyone was sitting down around a table eating when Jen arrived, and after introducing herself to lina, we began discussing with her the opportunity to go to End Forest with us.

Jen had already seen so of my potions, especially the holy panacea, which was used to heal the curse that was placed on her and the other victims of Zagor’s plan.

I showed the other types that we had created as a way to persuade her and told her that we wanted to continue the research on the blue herbs from the Illusive Forest that she had started.

During Jen’s ti in captivity, she was tasked with creating a hallucinogen poison from the blue herbs, but the alchemist saw that it could be used for sothing entirely different and began her research in secret in her cell.

However, after I arrived and took care of the bandits, she had to stop her research to go back to her brewing of healing potions that were needed for the war.

Honestly, I thought it would take more to persuade her to co with us, but the alchemist wholeheartedly agreed, saying that she didn’t see any downsides to the deal.

That night, Jen went back to her ho to pack her things, and I went to the underground tunnels with lina and my companions.

The underground area was where the bandits in Droman were hiding, but now, it was the base for the Dawn’s Defenders. (DD)

After the war ended in Kalusia, I told the people of DD that our job was completed with the intention of stepping down as the leader.

The ex-bandits had made their leader after I freed them, which was fine with at the ti since they ended up helping us a lot.

However, there was no reason for to keep them tied up, so I explained that they could disband or choose a new leader as long as they didn’t go back to their old ways of banditry.

Still, they did not want to step down and voiced their disagreent with my decision.

Nisa, who was standing at the front of the fifty mbers of DD, spoke up.

"Ichiro, most people here have nowhere to go. This is what we are good at..." she said, making the other mbers nod in agreent with her.

"It was Ichiro who freed us. Who the hell would we have as a new leader!?" another mber comnted.

As everyone voiced their concerns, I understood that they wanted to keep leading their group. However, I just felt a little worried any ti I sent one of them on a mission since I didn’t want them to die because of an order I gave.

"Ichiro. Everyone here trusts that you want the best for our world. We will follow you, no matter what you ask of us." Tony said, letting out a slight smile, which was quite out of character for him.

lina chuckled behind , saying how nice it was to see how much people liked , but I was feeling more embarrassed than proud, to be honest.

I let out a sigh, defeated by the determination of the mbers of DD, and decided that if I would be leading them, then we would start our work as soon as possible.

There were a few things on my mind that I wanted to investigate, but I wouldn’t have much ti since I needed to fulfill my end of the deal with the headmaster of the academy.

’With all these guys wanting to work with , I could probably manage to do both things at once...’ I thought, coming up with a way to fulfill my deal with the headmaster and use the DD mbers to gather information.
