The two arrived outside Netherworld City, slowly following the people entering the city.
"Hurry up and show your Identity Jades!" the city guards shouted at the people in line.
Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen took out their newly obtained Identity Jades and handed them to the guards for inspection.
The guard glanced at the Identity Jades and continued to check the next person.
Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen walked into Netherworld City, which, unlike other realms’ cities, lacked Spiritual Energy.
Entering a shop, they sought information about the Tree of Life and first needed to learn about the geographical layout of The Peaceful Realms.
The shop assistant saw Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen enter but did not co forward to serve them. In The Peaceful Realms, Ghost Cultivators were also hierarchically ranked: Ghost Spirit, Ghost Soldier, Ghost Envoy, Wangliang, Ghost General, Ghost Marshal, Ghost Immortal, Ghost King, and Ghost Emperor.
The Death Energy emanating from Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen clearly marked them as Ghost Soldiers. The assistant, being a Ghost Envoy, would hardly stoop to serve two Ghost Cultivators of lower rank than himself.
Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen looked at the items in the display case but did not find the map they needed.
Qin Yushen asked the assistant, "Do you have any maps for sale?"
"No," replied the assistant coldly.
Since the shop didn’t have what they wanted, Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen naturally didn’t linger.
They walked out and moved on to the next shop but found no maps after inquiring at several places.
A Ghost Cultivator hurried past Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen and called out to another in front, "Brother Shang, please wait!"
The Ghost Cultivator in front stopped and turned to the enthusiastic newcor, "Ah, Brother Gu."
"Brother Shang, are you off to Netherworld Ghost Lake in search of the Death Spirit Pearl?" Gu Bingru asked. In The Peaceful Realms, Death Spirit Pearls were not only used for cultivation but also served as currency, though they were extrely hard to find—only Netherworld Ghost Lake had them.
Shang Yan nodded, "Sheng Comrce’s auction is starting in three months. I heard that this ti there will be many valuable items like Ghost Spirit Grass and Netherworld Pills for sale."
He glanced around, speaking in a low voice, "I even heard that the seeds of the Tree of Life will be sold."
"Really?!" Gu Bingru asked excitedly. Who wouldn’t want the seeds of the Tree of Life? Consuming these seeds would increase the veins in one’s body, greatly enhancing the probability of becoming a Ghost Emperor.
"It’s an internal tip. I can’t be sure yet," Shang Yan said with a smile.
"Then let’s hurry to Netherworld Ghost Lake," Gu Bingru said impatiently. He wanted to gather as many Ghost Spirit Pearls as possible while there was still ti, to ensure he could bid on the desired items.
Hearing the ntion of the seeds of the Tree of Life, Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen stopped in their tracks. Once the two left, they stepped up to follow them.
Three days later, Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen faced an endless, dark lake where the Death Energy was so thick it almost solidified.
As they saw Shang Yan and Gu Bingru entering the Netherworld Ghost Lake, Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen also prepared to enter.
"I advise you not to go in, or with your current strength, you’ll just end up as one of the Ghost Spirit Pearls in this Netherworld Ghost Lake," a woman in black with red hair said as she approached Song Yan Ning and Qin Yushen. The Ghost Spirit Pearls in the Netherworld Ghost Lake were actually Ghost Cultivators who had entered and transford depending on their strength—the lower the rank, the lower the level of Ghost Spirit Pearl ford.
The lake water of Netherworld Ghost Lake had a suction force, growing stronger toward the center. Low-level Ghost Cultivators entering were simply courting death.
