Ye Anhao was awakened by the sound of rushing water. She rubbed her aching head and groggily got up from the bed. The thin blanket slid off her body, leaving her abruptly cold. She instinctively lowered her eyes, and in the next instant, she stood frozen on the spot as if an immobilization spell had been cast on her.
She stared fixedly at her bare upper body, which was covered in bruises. Even if she were a fool, she would know what had happened.
Ye Anhao felt as if she had been struck by lightning. She painfully scratched her disheveled hair, her mind in chaos.
How could this happen? How could things turn out this way?
She tried to recall. Yesterday, she had gone for a job interview. Later, seeing that the place was full of shady characters and not sowhere a decent girl should stay, she didn’t linger and left. Just as she was taking the elevator down, she suddenly felt unwell. She thought she might have caught a cold and decided to go to the hospital. However, upon exiting the elevator, she unexpectedly bumped into a man’s arms. She instinctively looked up to apologize, but then the world spun, and she fell into his embrace. Afterwards...she seed to have been taken into his car, and then...
Fragnts of embarrassing and heart-pounding mories flashed through Ye Anhao’s mind. The hot breaths and urgent panting seed to still linger in her ears, almost driving her to collapse.
It was clear she had been set up.
Ye Anhao thought, a common cold wouldn’t make her feel this way. She suddenly rembered that as she was about to leave, the person in charge of recruitnt handed her a drink. Seeing that person’s enthusiasm and feeling a bit thirsty herself, she had let her guard down, took the drink from them, and drank it without thinking.
Now that she thought about it, there must have been sothing wrong with that drink.
Oh Ye Anhao, how could you be so naive? How could you drink sothing from such a place?
Ye Anhao hadn’t yet stepped into society, and society had given her a harsh lesson, making her realize how treacherous people can be, though the price was too high.
She wiped her face forcefully, realizing it was already cold and wet. She gave a bitter smile; she had cried without realizing.
Hadn’t she stopped crying after her mother passed away? So what were these cold droplets on her face now?
She picked up her clothes from the floor, putting them on piece by piece. Just as she was about to leave, the bathroom door suddenly opened, and a tall man walked out.
The man was only wearing a towel around his waist, his bare upper body openly displayed in Ye Anhao’s view. His physique was excellent, those defined muscles possessing a sense of aggression.
Ye Anhao’s gaze slowly moved up, finally settling on the man’s chiseled and handso face. His features were exquisite but not feminine. His eyes were deep and sharp like an eagle’s, making it hard for people to look directly at him.
Ye Anhao’s gaze lingered on the man’s face for a few seconds. Just as she was about to look away, the man’s gaze fell on her.
"Awake?"
The man’s voice was very alluring, a popular male baritone, rich like aged wine, making one want to imrse in it. However, Ye Anhao could hear the disdain in his voice.
Ye Anhao glanced at the man’s cold and handso face and found it laughable. This man had taken her first ti, yet he wore a face like Guan Gong’s, as if she had taken advantage of him. It was utterly ridiculous.
She didn’t plan to pay him any mind, but the man wasn’t going to let her go. His sharp eyes locked onto her, and he said in a llow voice, "Speak, what do you want?"
