"Co with ," the man said, taking Lin Yixun’s hand.
As if guided by a mysterious force, Lin Yixun forgot to struggle and allowed Leng Yixiu to lead her out of the hospital room.
As they made their way to the garage, Lin Yixun couldn’t help but ask, "Where are you taking ? Yixun is about to wake up. If she doesn’t see us, she’ll cry and look for us."
"I already told her this morning that I would be taking you out to run so errands. Besides, Sister Yi is there. It’ll be fine."
"Where are you taking ? What do you need to do?"
"You’ll know when we get there," the man replied with a cryptic smile.
Lin Yixun had no idea what Leng Yixiu was up to, so she reluctantly got into the car with him.
The car finally pulled up to a beach house. The villa had two floors above ground and a basent, with the structure mainly made of glass. There was a large garden full of lavender in front of the house, while the backyard had a swimming pool.
By the ti they reached the beach, the sky had already darkened. The villa appeared to be inhabited, with lights glowing inside. In the dim moonlight, it looked like a crystal palace.
"Shall we take a look inside?" the man suggested with a smile.
Lin Yixun lowered her gaze and followed him in silence, walking behind him into the villa.
As soon as they entered, a young woman approached them. "Sir!"
The woman respectfully greeted Leng Yixiu, then turned her gaze to Lin Yixun and smiled politely. "You must be Miss Lin. I’m Ying Xia, the housekeeper here."
"Hello."
Lin Yixun looked at the woman in front of her, even more puzzled as to why Leng Yixiu had brought her here.
"Would you like sothing to drink? A cup of milk tea, perhaps?" Ying Xia offered.
"Thank you!"
Lin Yixun took the milk tea from Ying Xia and took a sip. It was just the flavor she liked. Was this intentional, or simply a coincidence?
She lifted her gaze and saw Leng Yixiu holding his cup, drinking gracefully without a hint of discomfort. She was surprised, knowing that Leng Yixiu had never liked this type of drink. Back when they were married, she had made him a similar milk tea, and he tasted it only to pour it away with a frown.
As Lin Yixun was lost in thought, staring at his cup, Leng Yixiu’s phone suddenly rang. He stood up and walked to the garden to take the call, leaving Lin Yixun and Ying Xia alone in the living room.
"Is this house Leng Yixiu’s property?" Lin Yixun asked.
"Yes, he bought it four years ago. After renovations, it sat vacant for two years. He only recently asked to move in. I used to manage his old house in A City."
"The old house in A City?"
Could it be...?
"Yes, it was once your marital ho. After you left, he never sold it. Despite being busy, he would occasionally stay there for a night or two."
Lin Yixun’s eyes flickered. She had always thought that their marriage was an indelible stain for Leng Yixiu, and that he despised everything about her, including that house. She assud he would sell it after their divorce. Yet, he had kept it and even had soone look after it.
Why would he do that?
A sudden, absurd thought crossed Lin Yixun’s mind, but she quickly dismissed it. It was impossible. Back then, the person he loved was Cheng Ying. How could it be...
