The reason I was so scared to et her was simple.
She hated variables.
In [WOMD], only Charles was supposed to survive in carriage [8], but my interference had changed that outco completely, raising the number from one to eleven.
That alone was enough to draw her attention, and this psycho didn’t like that. She had already killed three of my people without hesitation, trying to force things back into their original flow.
As if that wasn’t enough, Charles himself was another problem.
My luck was already bad, and this idiot only made it worse.
If I rembered correctly, he was soone Victoria recruited during her 6th regression, but instead of becoming a useful subordinate, he caused nothing but trouble for her.
Toward the end, when she was weakened after a fight, he betrayed her, poisoned her, and ran away. After that, he never appeared again in the [6th] scenario.
It was as if he had never existed in the first place, and Victoria never got the chance to take her revenge. He must have hidden like the coward he was.
The way she was glaring at him right now made one thing clear. She hadn’t forgotten about it, and she definitely wasn’t over it.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t let Charles die here. He was unreliable and difficult to control, but if handled properly, he would beco a valuable asset in the future. Losing him now would be a waste.
Thankfully, Victoria’s attention wasn’t on him right now. It was on .
[Character ’Victoria Veritas Auctor’ has used Eyes of Truth on you.]
[Dream Boundary has been activated. All effects of ’Eyes of Truth’ have been negated.]
For a brief mont, nothing happened. Then suddenly my body was lifted off the ground with terrifying ease. And the one holding in such a shaful position was a toddler.
"Who are you?" Victoria asked once again, her voice calm but carrying an unmistakable edge.
Her mood was already unstable, so I didn’t hesitate.
"Arin Aisling."
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she studied , her grip tightening just enough to remind how easily she could crush my neck. "Then answer properly. Why can’t I see your stats window?"
Her ’Eyes of Truth’ allowed her to see the stat windows of others. It was one of its many abilities, but for so reason it wasn’t working on . Even I didn’t expect that.
[Dream Boundary.]
I had never co across a skill like this in [WOMD]. For it to completely block a top-tier ability like ’Eyes of Truth’, it had to be sothing extraordinary.
"I won’t ask again. Why can’t I see your stats window?"
There was no point resisting. "I don’t know."
Her expression didn’t change, but her fist did. It drove straight into my stomach, forcing the air out of my lungs in a single violent burst. Pain spread instantly through my body.
"That’s not an answer,"
"I really don’t know,"
[Character ’Victoria’ has activated ’Lie Detection Lv. 3’.]
[’Lie Detection Lv. 3’ has judged your words to be false.]
Before I could react, another punch slamd into my stomach, harder than before.
"Answer truthfully while I’m still being patient."
I didn’t want to reveal it but I had no choice.
"I have a skill, but I don’t fully understand how it works... Victoria Veritas Auctor."
There was a brief pause.
[’Lie Detection Lv. 3’ has judged your words to be true.]
"Oh? You know ?"
"Who wouldn’t?" I replied, managing a faint smile despite the situation. "Three-ti Oscar-winning actress. Even soone living in isolation at the top of a mountain must have heard your na at least once."
"Flattery won’t help you. And you’re missing sothing. The Victoria they know doesn’t look like this."
Her fingers tightened again before I could respond. "If you won’t answer properly, I’ll make you."
The next instant, a current of electricity surged through her hand and into my body. My muscles seized up, and I began to convulse uncontrollably in mid-air as the pain spread through every nerve.
My vision blurred, and I couldn’t even think.
Shia tried to step in, but a single bolt of lightning struck her and sent her flying several ters away like she weighed nothing.
[The Constellation ’Forgotten Shore’ is enjoying the show.]
I clenched my teeth. Who was this bastard? He hadn’t sponsored a single coin and was enjoying this like it was entertainnt.
I needed to get out of this situation fast.
Forcing my mind to work through the pain, I grasped onto the only option I had.
"I know the future," I said. My voice was strained but steady enough to be understood. "Yours too, Victoria."
The electricity stopped instantly, though her grip didn’t loosen. Her eyes locked onto mine. "Go on."
"This is your 7th regression, isn’t it?" I continued, watching her reaction carefully. "And you’re not losing because you’re weak. You’re losing because soone keeps interfering.
The Ninth Order. They’ve been disrupting your plans in every regression. The reason you can’t deal with them is because they have a Seer. Soone who can see the future."
Her grip tightened just a fraction. "...And?"
I t her gaze directly. "If you let live, I can help you deal with them."
"So you’re a Seer?"
[Character ’Victoria’ has activated ’Lie Detection Lv. 4’.]
Of course she did.
Seers were extrely rare, even in [WOMD], and the Ninth Order had one of the strongest among them. With that advantage, they had been sabotaging Victoria’s plans for multiple regressions.
She had been hunting them since her 3rd regression, yet she still had no concrete information about them. Even when she managed to capture one, they killed themselves before revealing anything.
They were careful.
But I was different. I had seen her 1513 regressions, and by the 15th, she had already started walking over them. I knew information that I thought I could offer for my safety.
But there was a problem. I wasn’t a Seer. I was just so guy who happened to dream about a world that turned real one day.
If I claid I was, the Lie Detection would expose instantly. If I refused to answer, she would grow suspicious.
My next words would decide everything. Whether I lived... or died.
