Wen Qiao closed the magazine in her hand and placed it on the table. She stood up from the sofa, walked over to Fu Jinghen in her high heels, and naturally took his arm.

"This is Wang Shunze, the organizer of the Jinhua Award and the director of Hai City TV Station, as well as the vice chairman of the Radio and Television Association."

Wen Qiao nodded: "Hello, Chairman Wang."

As he ca closer, Wang Shunze carefully surveyed Wen Qiao from top to bottom and finally nodded: "Miss Wen and Younger Fu really make a perfect couple."

He had been in the entertainnt circle for many years, eting all sorts of people, able to distinguish between genuine and disingenuous at a glance.

The young woman appeared fair and spirited, neither humble nor pushy, composed and natural. While Fu Jinghen exchanged pleasantries with him, she sat quietly waiting, not rushing Fu Jinghen to introduce her. Upon learning his identity, she didn’t show any intent to ingratiate herself, truly likable.

"Finding such a spirited and transparent artist," Wang Shunze added, "President Fu indeed has good fortune."

Fu Jinghen humbly smiled: "You’re too kind, Mr. Wang."

"I won’t disturb you any longer; there’s a pile of matters backstage I need to handle."

Fu Jinghen nodded: "Take care, Mr. Wang."

Wen Qiao also politely said goodbye.

"That Chairman Wang is quite handso," Wen Qiao remarked casually, watching Wang Shunze’s retreating figure: "Perfect for the role of a little uncle in a younger uncle or young master romance, or as the ntor or adoptive father in a period drama, a deeply loyal and silently devoted second male lead."

Finally, she sighed: "These forbidden relationships and plotlines are truly captivating."

"..."

Fu Jinghen glanced at her without expression, raised his hand to cover her eyes, and led her towards the lounge: "As you said, he’s the second male lead, which ans he can never get the heroine, no matter how handso he is."

"Hey!" Wen Qiao tugged at his hand, "You’re touching my eyes, don’t ruin my makeup."

"Fix it if it gets smudged, that’s what makeup artists are for."

"..."

The door to the lounge closed, and the two overlapping figures disappeared behind it.

In the corner, a woman slowly erged, her serene gaze fixed on the closed door, with flashes of jealousy in her eyes.

Wen Shu and Qi Ming’s relationship hadn’t been made public either, to avoid suspicion, they hadn’t entered the venue together.

By the ti Wen Shu arrived at the center of the venue, the lounge was already occupied.

Wen Shu lowered her eyes to the still-damp water stains on her dress, her jealousy slowly turning into resentnt.

Why could Wen Qiao receive special treatnt from the Jinhua Award organizers, while she had to squeeze into a lounge with others, enduring their ridicule and being compared to Wen Qiao?

Everything Wen Qiao had now was clearly ant to be hers.

Fu Jinghen was supposed to like her too.

Wen Shu stood in the corner for a long ti, until her calves began to feel numb, before she ca back to her senses.

At the makeup room door, she recalled the unpleasant incident just now, and the hand she had placed on the doorknob fell, as she turned and walked away.

Behind the convention center was a small park, filled with osmanthus trees, the air scented with their subtle fragrance, soothing to the senses.

In the center of the park was a swing. Wen Shu walked over, adjusted her coat, sat on it, and gently swayed.

She glanced at her phone, noting there was still an hour left until the ceremony began.
