The receptionist, who’d been keeping a low profile off to the side like an invisible person enjoying candy up close, watched the two leave the company lobby and imdiately pulled out her phone. She was too eager to share in the FS anonymous gossip chat group what she had just witnessed with her own eyes.

Here’s what happened, they were coming out of the private elevator one after the other. It seed that President Fu said sothing that upset the Boss Lady. She stord out of the elevator with a frown on her face, looking furious, with President Fu sweetly calling after her. It must not have been anything serious because the Boss Lady was soon appeased. Then, noticing it was windy outside, President Fu coaxed the Boss Lady to button up her coat. She thought it looked ugly but he kept complinting her, saying his ’baby’ looked the prettiest, and he buttoned up her coat himself. In the end, President Fu left holding the Boss Lady’s hand, sweetly, as I watched with eyes full of envy. Ah! Dear Lord, please bless with such a "daddy-like boyfriend" too.]
It was lunchti and everyone was on their phones. As soon as this ssage was sent, there was an imdiate chorus of responses.
[Deep Diver 1: Is he looking for a wife or did he just find himself a daughter!]
[Deep Diver 2: I have gossip too, I have gossip. A couple of days ago, during work hours, I sneaked out to buy a cake and unexpectedly ran into President Fu and the Boss Lady. I was stunned, it was like being caught playing with your phone in high school when you look up and find your horoom teacher peeking through the back window. But I quickly found a way to save myself. I struck up a conversation with the Boss Lady, asking if she was buying cake. When she said yes, I ntioned I often bought here and could recomnd so. After she nodded, I recomnded several types. Not only did President Fu not mind that I had skived off work, but he also bought my share of the cake. Afterwards, when the Boss Lady said she didn’t feel like walking anymore, President Fu simply squatted down in front of her, carried her on his back, and I silently swallowed a big bowl of ’dog food’.]

The anonymous gossip group was created by FS employees and Fu Jinghen wasn’t part of it. Since it was anonymous, nobody knew who anyone else was, so people spoke without any reservations.
The gossip was in full swing, and the two subjects at the center of the talk had no clue.
Wen Qiao was still wallowing in her sorrow over feeling like a "bucket," and after who knows how many sighs, Fu Jinghen bought her so sugar-roasted chestnuts from a street stall, which finally diverted her attention.
The hot pot restaurant was in the city center, not far from FS. Instead of driving and facing the hassle of looking for parking, Fu Jinghen and Wen Qiao decided to walk there.
The hot pot restaurant was decked out in red, and two large red lanterns hanging on either side of the entrance made it stand out among many other places.
It had quite the festive New Year vibe.
The restaurant had been open for a while and though it wasn’t as crowded as the first few days of its opening, it was still bustling.
A waiter approached them, "Hello, do you have a reservation?"
"Ah? Do we need a reservation?" Wen Qiao looked sowhat dismayed at Fu Jinghen, "Does that an we can’t eat here today?"
