After seeing Fu Jinghen, they all started teasing him.
"Wow, the big star who goes on variety shows has arrived."
"President Fu is sothing else, getting all romantic on a variety show with his own wife."
"Who would have thought that in our lifeti we’d get to hear President Fu sing? You looked so devoted that it made want to marry you."
"After my mom saw President Fu on a variety show playing the guitar, she nagged for ages. And when she still wasn’t satisfied, she insisted I show her so talent, which I obviously don’t have. I’m not like President Fu, who’s good at everything and always been the envy of other parents."
When this group got together, they were always joking around, without any malice, and Fu Jinghen didn’t mind.
In response to their teasing, Fu Jinghen was as composed as ever, sitting down on the couch and pouring himself a glass of wine.
"Brother Fu, when are you going to bring sister-in-law out to et us again? Apart from the engagent banquet, we haven’t seen her since."
"Yeah, sister-in-law is so beautiful, don’t just let us see her on TV. Bring her out so we can all envy you."
Hearing them praise Wen Qiao, Fu Jinghen’s mood got even better. He swirled his drink, his eyes brimming with laughter, "She’s busy filming right now, maybe after so ti."
Qin Xiang, sitting beside him, saw his beaming face and was speechless, "They’re not praising you, why are you so happy about it?"
"You wouldn’t understand, Qin Laoer. When soone praises Brother Fu’s wife, how could he not be pleased? But you wouldn’t know, having no wife yourself—it’s excusable."
Qin Xiang grabbed an orange from the coffee table and threw it at him, "All you do is run your mouth, always showing off."
The man on the other side dodged with a smile.
With that exchange as a starting point, the conversation drifted towards girlfriends.
"Ren Chao, what about that new girlfriend of yours? Why did she not co with you? She’s usually glued to your side, isn’t she?" asked Zhang Tian, who had just had the orange thrown at him by Qin Xiang.
"She went shopping with her girlfriends," Ren Chao chuckled, "Give a break, will you? This ancestor of mine acts like she needs to stick to 24/7. Sotis she’ll even cry if she wakes up and can’t see , way too clingy."
"A woman clinging to you ans she likes you. I had a girlfriend like that once. I’d go out for etings, and she’d call to check in on all night. When I got busy and couldn’t pay her much attention, she’d throw a tantrum and made choose between her and the company—that’s just unreasonable," another person shared his experience with a knowing tone, "The one I’m with now is different, all about the money, doesn’t even like , but is very understanding."
"There was a ti I had made plans with her to go on a trip, but then sothing ca up at work last minute. As soon as I told her I couldn’t make it, she told to go back and take care of business, and then she was off with her bag."
Fu Jinghen paused with his swirling glass and asked, "Isn’t being understanding a good thing?"
Ren Chao laughed, "Brother Fu, you don’t know this, but when a woman is too understanding, it ans she’s not that into you. When a woman truly likes you, she’ll stick to you like glue and have high expectations—being at your beck and call is the minimum. Just last ti, I was an hour late picking up my girlfriend because of sothing, and she really gave an earful when I got back."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, but you, Brother Fu, definitely don’t need to worry about this. Sister-in-law looks like she’s really into you. Look at you, running off to Hang City every chance you get, even putting your company second nowadays. Who would’ve thought that could happen in the past?"
As Ren Chao spoke, he winked mischievously at him.
