Swish—

The wind howled violently as they plumted, the jagged remains of the upper floor disappearing above them. Volta’s instincts kicked in—lightning surged through her limbs, her body drinking in the kinetic energy of the fall.

Without hesitation, she twisted mid-air and wrapped her arms around Cruxius, pressing his face tight against her chest.

"Trust , Cruxius—we’ll be okay," she whispered fiercely, more desperate than confident.

She shifted their angle, making sure her body would take the full impact. His weight crushed into her, the fall sharpening every contact point between them. She aid toward a massive advertisent hoarding, adjusting her descent with one last pulse of stored force.

Thud

They hit the tal surface, the blow muffled by the surge of absorbed energy. A jolt rocked her spine, but she held on, cradling him against her as they slid to a stop.

Her back ached. Her breathing was sharp. But they were alive.

"Cruxius...?" she whispered, voice tight, arms still wrapped around him.

No reply.

His face was still buried between her breasts, pressed deep into the soft curve of her cleavage.

The front of her bra strained lightly under the pressure of his cheek, the fabric slightly damp with sweat. He felt hot—his breath warm against her skin, slow and deliberate.

"Cruxius," she said again, more firmly now, trying to pull back just enough to see his face.

He didn’t budge. His arms were limp at his sides.

’N-no, please—’ An anxious terror dawned on her as panic rose, feeling him still unmoving.

Until—she felt movent from his hips.

She froze.

There was movent. Subtle. Rhythmic.

She felt it—his hips moving in a slow, almost grinding rhythm against her thighs, sothing hard poking her through the thin layers of fabric from his pocket.

It throbbed gently, insistently, pressing into her like it had a will of its own.

’Probably just... sothing in his pocket?’ she wondered, though the way it shifted against her made her cheeks warm for reasons she couldn’t quite place.

Heat rose into her face.

"...Why are you rubbing against ?" she asked, low, wary, unsure whether to be furious or flustered.

Cruxius shifted just slightly, his voice muffled in her chest.

"...Oh. Uh... okay."

"...I didn’t ask—" she muttered, slightly angry, the stress of falling slowly giving way to a different frustration. A nerve bulged on her forehead, her mouth clearly twitching. But before she could gather her anger—

"Aarghh!" Cruxius suddenly lurched back and fell beside her, both hands pressed beneath his thighs.

Of course, he got hard.

"What happened!? Are you alright?" Ytrisia stood frozen, shocked at the sight, and leaned toward him with a worried look.

’...Ah, shit,’ Cruxius thought, following her movent. As her voice reached him, he looked up. She was bent over his body, both hands on either side, her perky breasts beneath the latex suit clearly defined in the moonlight, the sweat on her face glistening.

"Ahem. It appears I got hit in the balls," Cruxius stated with a serious look, the heat of embarrassnt rising from his throat to his face.

Her face turned crimson as if slapped, and she quickly yanked herself back, stumbling and landing on her hips, staring at him as he slowly sat up, legs folded beneath him.

"Y-you’re kidding ," Ytrisia muttered, making sure he hadn’t hit anything too hard, prompting her to glance at his crotch area.

And there she really saw it—the swell.

The bulge was evident through his pants, making it clear he might not be lying.

"Leave it. I’ll just privately consult with Doctor Seleyena again," Cruxius said, amused, as he knew that at that mont she may have told him she would beco his private dic, but would soon contact him to cancel the arrangent.

So, she was secured to co searching for him once the effect of that supervillain’s ability wore off on her.

He also not forced Ytrisia as he sensed she might grow suspicious and leave him alone here—an opportunity he could use to score so emotional points.

After all, in relationships, it often ca down to a simple truth: n were generally more physically driven, while won, in a broader sense, leaned toward emotional connection.

So, he decided now was the right ti to form that emotional bond.

Beneath the moonlit sky in this night, he sat beside a woman who could be his wife.

"Who... Leave it. Wait here, I’ll be back," Ytrisia said reluctantly. But then her gaze drifted toward the hospital building.

This might be her chance—not to hold back this ti.

After all, superheroes were used to restraining their powers to avoid harming nearby structures.

And being an S-rank gave her the liberty to flatten a few buildings, if needed.

"Hey, don’t leave ," Cruxius said, stretching out his hand and catching her wrist just as she began to stand.

She turned, eyes eting his, and paused.

His expression was troubled—perhaps even shaken.

He was still just a civilian, and after falling from such a height, along with what happened last ti in Spain, he might truly be traumatized.

So she nodded and sat back down.

"Okay... but what about her?" Ytrisia asked. She agreed to stay, but the attack on him still felt like a critical incident.

If she could catch Eventide and force a confession that the Hero Association had acted against Cruxius, she could expose their true motives.

"Co on, Ytrisia. Don’t be childish. Just for a mont, think rationally," Cruxius said, shaking his head with a soft chuckle. He appeared resigned, as if defeated. Sliding his hand over hers secretly, he added gently, "Do you think the Hero Association would have attacked in a hospital without a backup excuse?"

"I... I don’t get it," Ytrisia murmured. She felt the chill of his fingers slowly interlocking with hers. Though she wanted to pull away, her mind was too focused on his words.

"They’re most likely going to kill Alvian—the dean of this hospital—and fra him as the real target, not ," Cruxius explained.

He brought the pieces together for her, dispelling any lingering doubt.

The truth was clear: the Hero Association aid to eliminate the dean. And Cruxius, using them to his advantage, now had the perfect scapegoat while subtly controlling the narrative.

It was as if the destination had always been Dean; he just chose the path through the event to bring him near Ytrisia’s heart.

’?!’

"What? Why would—so, that’s how it is..." Ytrisia whispered. She wanted to deny it, but the realization hit hard.

The dean had been involved in the attack on Channel Poggo’s headquarters. That ant the association could easily spin this into a justified act.

’Hm...,’ Cruxius thought, distracted, tracing the lines of her palm.

He admired the softness of her palm, having already savored her ravishing body as a test sample.

Still, he felt no threat from Ytrisia taking any rash action.

He had already steered her thoughts. By now, she would likely drop any intent to investigate further, especially since doing so would drag a small child into the ss.

And just as he expected, she sat quietly, not resisting his touch, her mind following the path he had set for her.

’I need to stop... or else,’ Ytrisia thought. Her gaze drifted blankly ahead.

She knew if she pushed too far, the Hero Association might expose the child who had attacked poggo channel’s headquarters—an innocent, manipulated by her mother’s foolishness.

That child would be labeled a villain.

So Ytrisia gave up the idea of pursuing it any further. She couldn’t let an innocent life be destroyed.

But she gulped, turning towards Cruxius to apologize for not being able to take revenge for the attack on him. She added, "I... am sorry for—"

"Co on, Ytrisia, aren’t we friends?"

He friend-zoned her
