What defines one's strength? This was a question Ryan Whitemane asked himself over and over again. This simple question proved to be very complex for him, to the point where he spent an entire year researching this question. Investigating, improving his grades, and delving deeper into the magical world.
"Then I will battle Rin" he said, as he rembered the duels he had watched of her.
The ranking of the Neodrazzil Traveler's Academy was divided in a way that it was possible to evaluate each mber by their fighting style. After all a mage would be physically weaker than a berserker, but if one considered mana, this would be an opposite case. Still, the classification of what defines soone as strong or weak was a more ambiguous question when taken into dungeons, since an unprepared strong mage is worse than a crazed berserker.
Still, there were two important factors. The first, the number of duels and battles won by soone, the second the number of portals closed by that person. Only one girl in Neodrazzil and Khalazhan could excel in both of these. And her na is Rin Silvermoon.
That short and apparently weak girl was monstrous in any magical or military art. She had joined the sa year as Ryan, but because of her performance, she was given the option to join the guild as an SS Rank traveler. With ease, she won the regional magic championship, defeating all the prodigies from Khalazhan, the empire's capital, and even so who ca from outside the continent.
She was not only formidable in any physical battle but also clearing dungeons, managing with ease to exterminate hordes of over ten thousand monsters. Her staying at the academy was a simple matter of formality, as her strength easily surpassed most of the institution's professors.
"Have you guys seen her?" Sara questioned the two, Ryan shook his head saying no.
"Yeah" Alice said, and with an apprehensive look on her face, she seed bothered by the mory "That girl is like a perfect doll, there is no better description than that. Be careful Ryan. She's dangerous."
'You saying that is a bit hypocritical' he thought, but kept his mouth shut. Even though he joked about the situation, this doubt consud him inside. If Alice found Rin strange, that ans Rin is far more unusual than he could have imagined.
Sighing, he looked up, and again one of the teachers ca in to teach the class. The students sat down, and a look of hatred ca toward Ryan, this ti he could see exactly where it was coming from. About four rows back, a skinny boy was watching him intently.
His gaze was completely neutral, there was nothing unusual about him. A strange feeling ca over Ryan when they exchanged glances, it was as if he had seen that classmate sowhere before. But his system wasn't lying, an intense feeling of hatred was emanating from that boy, who hid behind his glasses as he looked toward the board.
After a few seconds, the pieces fell into place 'I rember him, he was hanging out with a tank boy. But how is he cultivating such pure hatred?' The biggest doubt in Ryan's mind was how that intense sense of aggression could be camouflaged behind a serene face, that would take years of training.
The last ti he had detected that look of anger, it had been easy to identify where it was coming from. But now, it was confusing, more so than it should be. Taking a deep breath, Ryan tried to remain calm, as he did not want to create another burst of demonic energy. At that very instant, his mind began to work with surprising speed, his eyes began to try to see a few seconds into the future, but no interesting information appeared in front of him.
Closing both eyes, Ryan tried to think about what might be going on.
'This skinny guy is camouflaging his anger, if he and his allies were letting out hatred naturally, Nyx would have found them easily. That ans that soone is helping them. If that is the case, then this problem is bigger than I was imagining.
Even thinking about what might happen, there were few options for how to counteract it now. The most he could do would be to look after each of the girls and keep them safe, sighing, he thought about his possibilities.
'That manuscript... I can replicate that' he thought, as he looked at the guild teleport watch. 'I'll already talk to Syl today, I just need to ask her for help' he thought, with a smile on his face.
As his thoughts lined up, a ssage popped into his mind. The girls had news.
