She imdiately distanced herself, valuing her life over anything, staying away from lunacy.
After two hours in the bar, Ye Lu saw quite a few bottles already piled up in front of Shang Jingchen.
He told her to accompany him, but he hadn’t spoken a word to her.
This guy must be in a bad mood, drinking mindlessly. She hardly cared, nor did she want to mingle.
Once he was ready to leave, she’d have an easy ten thousand yuan in hand, a good deal indeed.
Unexpectedly, her silence caused a ruckus.
A few n with ill intentions surrounded her, "Beauty, drinking alone, huh? Why not join us?"
An ominous feeling washed over Ye Lu, she quickly pointed to Shang Jingchen, "I ca here with my boyfriend. Please leave alone."
"That guy is your boyfriend? Doesn’t seem like it. He doesn’t even react to us surrounding you." One of the n smirked, "Beauty, do us a favor, co dance with us, we’ll make sure you have a blast."
After speaking, he forcefully grabbed her. Seeing no response from Shang Jingchen, Ye Lu’s face turned green.
That damn Golden Bastard doesn’t care about her at all, so heartless.
"Let go of or I’ll call the police," she whimpered.
"Oh, she wants to call the police. Go on, call them!" They laughed disorderly, dragging her outside.
"Let her go!" An icy cold voice suddenly echoed from behind.
Surprised, Ye Lu turned to find Shang Jingchen, his handso face frozen, his eyes as cold as ice, glaring at the goons.
"Looking to play knight in shining armor? I suggest you stay out of it, unless you wish to sign your death warrant." The goons sized him up. He looked strong and intimidating, but he was just one man and that wouldn’t be enough to pose a threat.
"I. Said. LET. HER. GO."
Shang Jingchen’s voice beca far more nacing, exuding a horrifying aura, like Asura from hell.
Roared at, the goon’s face darkened: "Even if we don’t, what can you do about it?"
With a loud bang, Shang Jingchen smashed a bottle onto the bar counter, shattering it into pieces. The sudden explosion scared the crowd who began to scream and run.
Then, the cold and unflinching Shang Jingchen holding the shattered bottle, charged at the goon who was pulling Ye Lu, aiming for his head.
Bang, blood spurted out, splashing onto Ye Lu’s face, her face went white with terror.
The goon scread, his hands clasped around his head.
Seeing their companion beaten, they lost control and charged at Shang Jingchen.
Having learned self-defense, Shang Jingchen calmly handled the goons despite being surrounded. His punches and kicks precise and ferocious, leaving them battered and bruised.
The bar erupted in chaos, people screaming and scurrying about.
Watching him ruthlessly beat the goons, with blood all over the floor, terrified that he might kill soone, Ye Lu quickly went to pull him away.
"Stop. Let’s go," she urged.
The damn Golden Bastard must be drunk, turned senseless. If he wouldn’t stop, soone might die.
She clung to his arm, trying her best to drag him outside.
They had barely taken a few steps, when a fierce noise echoed from behind.
"Bastard, you’re not getting away." The goon who’d had his head smashed charged at them, bottle in hand. Perhaps he was woozy and couldn’t aim properly, and instead, the bottle headed straight for Ye Lu’s head.
Ye Lu was caught off guard, her mind went blank, oh god, she was going to die.
In hindsight, she shouldn’t have been greedy for that ten thousand yuan.
This damned Golden Bastard, you’ve killed her.
There was a loud bang, an ominous noise underlining the pain that she should have felt, but Ye Lu felt no pain at all.
Because in that one second, Shang Jingchen had rushed in front of her, taking the blow himself. The force of the blow knocked them both down to the ground. Terribly shocked, Ye Lu stared wide-eyed at his face, now covered in bleeding cuts.
His determined, passionate gaze fluctuated with a tender and protective pain as he gazed at her.
Her heart skipped a beat.
