"Go on," Halian Jing’s face gradually turned frosty.
"That girl is quite manipulative. She invited Ling Kong to dance to catch my sister’s attention, which made my sister like her and pay special attention to her."
Halian Jing frowned, "Didn’t Ling Kong dislike dancing? I’ve never seen him show interest in any girl."
Nancy smiled strangely, "Yes, I found it odd too. Maybe it was love at first sight. I heard that young lady is both bold and beautiful, so it’s not surprising if he’s smitten."
"Hmph." Halian Jing snorted through his nose, clearly displeased.
Nancy secretly rejoiced and continued, "My sister didn’t guard herself since she saw her son showing favor towards the girl. That’s why when she invited my sister on stage, my sister went up, resulting in this incident. Sigh, Ling Kong should have been more cautious. Even if he liked that girl, he shouldn’t have let my sister go up alone, leaving the protection of the bodyguards. Whenever I accompanied my sister to charity events, I never dared let her leave my protection. After all, we went along to ensure her safety, not letting any harm co to her."
She sighed again.
"But you can’t bla him too much. He’s young and hasn’t seen much of the world. He was easily captivated by that girl."
Halian Jing snorted again.
"Hasn’t that girl been caught? How’s the interrogation going these past few days? Why haven’t I heard any reports from below?"
Nancy’s gaze shifted, "How can the judiciary below submit a report when Ling Kong took her away? They couldn’t interrogate her at all and dared not say anything. But Ling Kong is probably too worried about my sister and wants to interrogate her himself to find out who attempted to assassinate her. But isn’t this taking too long? A proper judiciary would have extracted a confession in a day or two. Sigh, young n are always gentle with beautiful girls, finding it hard to be ruthless."
Halian Jing’s brows furrowed tighter, his eyes growing colder.
Nancy noticed his emotional change and knew it was ti for the final strike.
She began tearing up, sighing deeply.
"But my sister can’t wait that long. If the culprit isn’t found, and the bacteria on those fragnts aren’t dealt with, her body won’t hold out much longer. How can Ling Kong act so leisurely? After all, he’s not her biological son, but he shouldn’t just watch my sister suffer like this..."
"Enough!" Halian Jing cut her off, his face displeased. After all, Ling Kong is his adopted son, and her words implied bla that he wasn’t biological and therefore not in a hurry.
He is family, after all, and it’s not for outsiders to criticize.
However, deep down, Halian Jing indeed felt a bit of dissatisfaction with Ling Kong’s behavior. Ling Kong accompanied his wife to the charity event because he was to take care of and protect her, and yet this happened.
Moreover, he took the girl away but hasn’t yielded any interrogation results, delaying his wife’s treatnt.
That remark about not being biological struck a chord in him.

"Alright, I’m not angry with you. You’re just concerned for your sister."
At this mont, an official from the security departnt rushed in with urgency on his face.
"What’s happening?" Halian Jing was sowhat displeased; he didn’t like others disturbing his wife. Were these people tired of living?
