Ye Lu looked at Su Feiman and then at Third Young Master Jun, an ominous premonition already brewing in her heart, leaving her chest ice-cold.
"What do you an I don’t understand? What is this so-called unacceptable thing? Tell !" She questioned angrily and anxiously.
Third Young Master Jun looked at her: "Since it’s sothing hard to accept, why ask? Why put yourself through pain?"
Ye Lu mocked herself: "I’d rather endure pain and know the truth than be a fool who’s kept in the dark."
It made her feel so disheartened. All this ti, she had been tirelessly working on what she thought was a plan to take down the Godfather, but now it felt like all her efforts were aningless.
Like a fool, she knew nothing, yet thought she was fighting for their future.
"If he’s unwilling to tell you, then let reveal it—after all, you’ll know eventually. Knowing earlier makes no real difference." Su Feiman’s voice was calm almost to the point of cruelty, with the sharp ruthlessness of soone determined to destroy everything flickering darkly in his eyes. "Since you already know my true identity and know that he has returned to my side, you should also understand what he might do under my command."
Ye Lu’s lips turned pale, and she almost didn’t dare to think any further.
She could guess, but she dared not guess, because such a thought filled her with terror.
"That’s right. He’s helping traffic drugs!"
Ye Lu’s whole body trembled, her entire being frozen with cold, and her fingertips quivered lightly.
Su Feiman watched her expression, seeing her struggle to accept it, and felt very satisfied. This blade to the heart was enough to unravel her completely and form an irreparable rift between her and Third Young Master Jun.
"This ’important matter’ he’s working on refers to this. Know this: recently, I’ve been preparing for a major drug transaction, targeting the North Arican market. The person in charge of this operation is none other than King."
Ye Lu stared at Third Young Master Jun with a pallid face: "So everything you’ve been secretly working on recently—this is what it’s all about?"
"Yes. The scale of this deal is enormous and easy to attract scrutiny from North Arican authorities, which is why I’ve had to ticulously plan everything in secret." Third Young Master Jun showed no hesitation in admitting it.
Ye Lu looked at his calm, expressionless face, and her heart felt frozen. She had hoped he might deny it or offer so explanation, but there was nothing—he spoke of these cruel deeds with such detachnt, as though he were a stranger.
"Jun Huang, do you realize what you’re doing?"
"I do."
Seeing his apathetic expression, Ye Lu suddenly exploded with intense rage, slapping him hard across the face: "Since you know, then why do it? You’re trafficking drugs, harming people—don’t you realize how many lives drugs will destroy? Are you insane? This is murder, murder on an enormous scale."
Flooding the North Arican market with such a large quantity of drugs would ruin countless lives—how many people would die, how many families would be destroyed?
Drug trafficking is the most heinous and unforgivable cri. How could he touch sothing like this?
No matter what plan he had, he couldn’t justify harming people like this. Even if they survived, the burden of so many lives would be an intolerable weight of guilt.
So lines should never be crossed.
"I would rather see you dead than watch you destroy lives like this," Ye Lu said, burying her face in her hands, tears seeping through her fingers.
Third Young Master Jun trembled, touched the cheek she had slapped red, and then smiled indifferently: "This is why I didn’t tell you. Lu’er, you’re ultimately a good person, while I... I’ve never been one. I don’t carry moral burdens—other people’s lives an nothing to ."
