If just separation now caused her such pain, then, in the future, how would she face the despair of a life-and-death parting, how would she continue to live?

A tily separation is, at least, less painful than one later on; watching him die with her own eyes, unable to do anything, that’s the true despair.

He didn’t want her to experience that most painful feeling.

So, he put on a façade of indifference and sighed as he began to speak.

"Ye Lu, you really are a fool. How could there be so many troubles in the world? If I, Third Young Master Jun, truly loved you, do you think I would let you go? I would firmly hold on to you, wanting you to be by my side even if it ant dying together in danger."

Third Young Master Jun wiped away her tears, as if mocking her girlish, stubborn foolishness, his finger trembling slightly as it traced her tear-streaked cheek.

If she could shed so many tears for him, it was worth it.

"Ye Lu, I, Jun Huang, am not the type to make sacrifices for love, so great that it’s ridiculous. So stop fantasizing. You’re like a child, never cherishing what you hold in your hand until you lose it, and then stubbornly trying to grasp it back. In this world, there’s no such thing; much like ti, once lost, it can never be regained."

Listening to his cold words, Ye Lu’s tears flowed more fiercely, her vision entirely blurred.

He really didn’t want her anymore.

Her heart ached terribly, agonizingly, filled with such despair that the whole world seed to collapse.

He had finally rejected her again. Was this retribution? She had rejected his marriage proposal twice, and he had now rejected her wish to co back twice.

Ye Lu, you deserve it!

Yet, she still didn’t want to lose him.

"Jun Huang, but if you chose to love , why not love to the end and go all the way?"

She cried her heart out.

"Even if I’m not worthy, please don’t abandon again, okay? Can’t you just love a little more? Just a little bit will do, alright?" she pleaded with him, as if clutching at the last straw.

Third Young Master Jun felt as if his heart was being twisted, angry and frustrated. This fool, after all that had been said, why was she still saying this? How could she be so stubborn, wasn’t she the one who could be resolute and heartless?

She could let go of her seven-year relationship with Gu Yan; eventually, she would let go of theirs too.

"I can’t. Don’t continue to beg so pathetically; it’s not like you."

The faint glimr of hope in Ye Lu’s eyes dimd, flickered out, leaving nothing but a dark void.

Her complexion was paler than it had ever been, like the whitest sheet of paper, devoid of any sign of life, numbed and lost after extre sorrow.

Third Young Master Jun couldn’t bear to see her so hopelessly hollow and spoke with pained coldness, "Leave now!"

Ye Lu stood up chanically, her eyes dull and scattered. As she stood, her vision darkened, and her weak and exhausted body fell forward uncontrollably.

Third Young Master Jun’s face changed drastically, he sprang up instinctively, disregarding his injury to catch her.

Ye Lu collapsed into his arms, hitting his wound and causing him pain, but he felt nothing, only fear as he looked at her pale face and tightly closed eyes.

"Lulu, Lulu, what’s wrong?" he cried out in panic, calling her na urgently.

But she lay motionless, her breathing weak.

Third Young Master Jun’s eyes filled with complete panic as he shouted, "Yan Su, co here, quick, save her."

Yan Su rushed over, lifting Ye Lu and quickly examining her, and then breathed a sigh of relief: "It’s okay, she just fainted from being too emotionally overwheld."
