"Ronna, what do you think?" Chen Ze asked with confidence, looking at Ronna. With swamp eel at and his thod of cooking, Chen Ze had added a bit of honey for seasoning. Although it was a small amount, he believed it would still enhance the deliciousness of the eel.
"Uh..." Ronna looked at the eel pizza in front of her with a strange expression. In fact, it wasn’t her first ti eating Chen Ze’s pizza, as she almost visited every day. However, the problem was, the taste of this eel pizza was really indescribable, and Ronna didn’t know what to say.
To say it wasn’t tasty would be wrong because it did taste good. The flavor of the pizza was consistent as always, and the eel at on top slled very fragrant. Logically, this should an a double delight, a double enjoynt, but for so reason, Ronna found it very hard to describe her feelings after eating it.
The eel at, roasted to be tender and slightly sweet, was difficult to discern unless one paid close attention. Combined with the wonderful pairing of the eel and the pizza crust, the overall taste was quite unique. It was like eating a pork bun while simultaneously drinking a chilled Coke, and oh, don’t forget to stuff so cold lard in your mouth too.
Chen Ze’s mouth twitched. A child is still a child after all, so Ronna’s expression had completely betrayed her true thoughts. Moreover, if it were delicious, Ronna would have undoubtedly said so without hesitation. Therefore, Chen Ze felt his eel pizza might have been a disaster.
"Boss, let try it and spare Ronna the trouble," said Betty, who couldn’t bear to watch anymore. She rushed over, grabbed a slice of eel pizza, and took a bite, her expression turning bizarre.
"How should I put it..." Betty pinched the bridge of her nose, struggling to find words to describe it even though she was a demon used to Chen Ze’s cooking.
"All right, no need to say more, I get it," Chen Ze rolled his eyes and then handed Ronna a can of cola as compensation.
But following the current trend, would Ronna beco a ’Hei Zhen’ in the future? Or perhaps she might transform into a never-before-seen Queen Joan of Arc? Chen Ze thought this likely although he was unsure what Ronna would turn out to be.
"Thanks, Mr. Boss, the pizza is still very good," Ronna bowed and then left.
"Boss, how did you manage that?" Betty looked at Chen Ze with a puzzled expression. She had been praising him for his increasingly skillful poisoning outside, and in an instant, it had all gone awry, which was quite a slap in the face.
"Don’t ask, asking ans I was trying a new dish," Chen Ze stated, not wanting to talk; he just wanted to cool down.
Back in the kitchen, Chen Ze felt quite lancholic. He wished he had tried a slice of eel pizza earlier; perhaps he would have unlocked so new pose... knowledge.
"Forget it, if both Ronna and Betty didn’t like it, then it basically proves that this pizza appeals to a minority. I need to be more cautious next ti," Chen Ze shook his head.
Although the world’s definition of gourt food is broadly similar, it’s undeniable that there are always special enthusiasts whose tastes are different and even surpass the viewpoints of the vast majority.
One kind naturally prefers stinky dishes, the stinkier the better, and these people tend to enjoy stinky tofu, durian, and whatnot, but it has to taste good once eaten.
There’s another type who enjoys dark cuisine, the kind that the worse it tastes, the more they want to eat. Chen Ze felt his eel pizza would probably et the preferences of these people.
"Mr. Boss, do you have any recomnded dishes lately?" Momonga-san walked in, looking exhausted.
"Eel rice, but it’s made with higher-grade eel ingredients, so it’s still highly recomndable," Chen Ze said with a smile as he ca out to greet Momonga-san.
"Eel rice, huh... Thank you, Yarbei... Betty," Mr. Momonga said as he took the cola from Succubus Betty, almost calling her by the wrong na.
"Mr. Momonga seems a bit tired, what happened?" Chen Ze was curious. With Mr. Momonga’s strength, in the otherworld, aside from possibly outwitting the air, there couldn’t be much else to trouble him.
"Ah, first give a Thunderbrew Lager, then serve that eel rice you recomnded," Mr. Momonga sat down with a look of worry on his face.
Betty imdiately went to pour a large frothy mug of Thunderbrew Lager and then brought it out to Mr. Momonga.
"Ahh~ Without a doubt, this is the good stuff. It feels like my troubles have dissipated quite a bit," Mr. Momonga let out a contented sigh. The greatest benefit of eating here at Chen Ze’s was that his emotions weren’t suppressed, which gave Mr. Momonga a sense of being human again.
After all, humans are creatures of emotion. Without emotions, what’s the difference between us and trees or stones?
"Alright, let out whatever’s troubling you and make happy," Chen Ze said with a smile as he ca out and took a Thunderbrew Lager for himself, sitting opposite Mr. Momonga.
"Tsk, tsk, it’s a wonder you haven’t been beaten to death talking like that," Chen Ze noticed the red dots in Mr. Momonga’s eye sockets drifting upwards, pondered for a mont, and figured he must be rolling his eyes, probably sothing like that.
"Heh, I wouldn’t say that to just anyone," Chen Ze said unconcernedly, taking a sip of the chilled Thunderbrew Lager and letting out a satisfied breath.
"It’s just that another one of my subordinates might have betrayed ," Mr. Momonga took a big gulp of his drink.
"That’s not such a big deal, you’re not even sure if there’s been a betrayal yet. Besides, there’s always a way," Chen Ze’s mouth twitched slightly, thinking it might be sothing else.
"Hey, hey, hey, it’s a betrayal we’re talking about here, and it might be my fault," Mr. Momonga said, looking displeased. Since he had crossed over to the otherworld, he had placed great importance on the NPCs he and his companions had created.
"Yes, yes, yes, but since you’re not sure, go and check it out. I’m going back to cook," Chen Ze waved his hand, taking his Thunderbrew Lager back to the kitchen to start on Mr. Momonga’s eel rice.
"Really, Betty, another Thunderbrew Lager, please," Mr. Momonga put down his mug, just a few sips and the mug of lager was gone, but his mood had improved greatly.
The System shouldn’t make mistakes, and it didn’t show Sebas as having betrayed, so it was probably just an overreaction.
As long as it wasn’t another incident like with Shaltear.
"Mr. Momonga, here’s your Thunderbrew Lager," Betty said with a smile as she handed the lager to Mr. Momonga.
"Haha, another one for , I’m not stopping until I’m dead drunk today~" Having co to terms with his concerns, Mr. Momonga’s mood improved significantly.
Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, thinking it sure is hard for an Undead to get drunk, isn’t it?
