"I hope Kobe can trust , but I think it’s very likely, especially after seeing the door disappear, there shouldn’t be a problem." Chen Ze yawned as he was kneading dough, planning to make so Goubuli buns for display before letting Betty co for dinner.
He also needed to go upstairs and ask Lafra what she wanted to eat. Chen Ze glanced at his phone and realized it was alti. If there were still no custors after this, he planned to close the restaurant for the day.
"Manager, Manager!" Betty rushed in.
"What’s up?" Chen Ze looked at Betty in confusion. Could it be that Betty was already starving? But that shouldn’t be the case, Chen Ze rembered making a lot of food for lunch, and Betty ate quite a bit too.
"I found this thing." Betty took out a book and handed it to Chen Ze.
Chen Ze took it and saw at a glance that it was an English book, which he could understand. He had bought similar books before, although they later ended up boxed away and gathering dust over the years.
"Elentary Deduction? Where did you find it?" Chen Ze was a bit interested. The book must have been left by a previous custor, he just wasn’t sure which one. However, he felt it was unlikely to be sothing Kobe left behind and thought it was probably left by the two custors from before.
"It was on the floor. I found it while I was cleaning. But the book is so dark, I wouldn’t have noticed it if I hadn’t bumped into it," said Betty, looking curiously at the book. She didn’t understand English, although she had encountered so Chinese characters while studying in the past.
"The cover of the book is indeed quite dark, but I think it’s fine. It must be sothing a custor left behind. Let’s keep it here for now," Chen Ze decided. It was better not to touch others’ belongings, so he placed the book in the cupboard, planning to return it to the custors when they ca back.
Chen Ze had flipped through the book before; it was well-thumbed with many handwritten Chinese notes, so he figured it was most likely left by the compatriot who ordered the boiled beef.
Watching Betty leave to continue cleaning, Chen Ze shook his head. He wondered if Hastur and the others would co by, and also when the all-knowing, all-powerful Yog-Sothoth would visit. Chen Ze also planned to inquire if He knew how to make paper-wrapped fried chicken.
By the ti Chen Ze finished making the Goubuli buns, there still weren’t any custors in the restaurant.
"Betty, see you tomorrow then." Chen Ze smiled and saw Betty off. Looking forward to so alone ti with Lafra.
When Chen Ze went upstairs, he saw Lafra playing Pokémon, already challenging a gym. Wearing casual clothes, she didn’t look like a high and mighty Blood Ancestor, but more like an ordinary human girl.
Her golden hair draped over her snowy shoulders was so enticing that Chen Ze felt the urge to have a nosebleed, although in reality, n do not necessarily get nosebleeds from seeing such sights – it had just beco a fixed impression.
Just like if you ntioned a teddy bear, most people’s first association might be ’teddy day’. Chen Ze recalled seeing a GIF of a bus where a man sat in front of a buxom girl and suddenly had a nosebleed – it beca an iconic scene.
"My love, what are you watching?" Lafra didn’t turn her head, but she knew Chen Ze was there.
"Hehe, just admiring my dream lover," Chen Ze said with a smile, then went over and sat down beside Lafra.
"I feel like my dream lover must hate , I want to die," Destiny sat in the bar, drinking sullenly.
"Yes, exactly, she surely hates you. And did you not realize she’s an Orc girl?" Flea looked on dispassionately, thinking it wasn’t a big deal if her friend wanted to die anyway.
Especially since the gods were already fallen, it wouldn’t be easy for her friend to die, plus there was that particular existence, so Flea felt quite assured.
"Lawrence, you fell in love with her even without understanding her race?" Reinhardt looked disgusted, for, in his view, his friend wasn’t truly in love.
"Who said I didn’t figure it out? He Luo is a werewolf girl, I’ve known it all along, even with her hood," Lawrence replied, clearly unhappy. What kind of strength did he have? Although He Luo seed very mysterious, it was easy for Lawrence to find out about her.
"You’re just lusting after her body; you’re despicable!" Flea scorned her friend.
"Ah, my heart has been stolen by her, but He Luo has been avoiding lately," Lawrence rolled his eyes, too lazy to retort.
"I think it’s normal for her to avoid you. After all, you look so perverted. If I were targeted by you, I would probably report you to the city guards right away," Flea said seriously.
"If it were the old , I’d report to the Church of Light that there’s an evil worth fighting," Reinhardt said teasingly to Lawrence.
"Enough already – you know, during this ti, I have been dealing with the oracles from my lord, and you guys have been slacking off – is that really okay?" Lawrence looked at his two friends with a vacant gaze.
"Cough cough, I think you should go to the manager tomorrow. Last ti I saw him, he seed to have a very nice cake, and even if that werewolf girl doesn’t like cake, what if she likes barbecue? His barbecue is the most delicious I’ve ever had," Flea suggested, feeling a bit embarrassed. She had been so addicted to her shop simulation ga that she had almost forgotten her duties to her master.
"That... I think that’s a good idea," Lawrence nodded, liking the suggestion.
anwhile, at the Spices and Herbs shop, He Luo was lying on the table, looking at a Magic Crystal Stone in her hand, feeling nostalgic.
The next morning, Chen Ze got up from bed feeling refreshed, which validated the idea that a healthy adult man indeed needs seven to nine hours of sleep each night.
"My dear... good morning... I want breakfast," Lafra, who had gotten up at so point, stood behind Chen Ze, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"Okay, I’ll make so for you in a bit," Chen Ze said with a smile and patted Lafra’s head before he went downstairs to get ready.
Looking out the window at the bright sunshine, Chen Ze smiled, thinking it looked like it would be a good day.
