"The Manager’s cooking is so delicious!" Ronna said happily, her eyes squinting with joy as she took small bites of the stir-fried sea cucumber with green onions.

"Hehe, of course, after all, it’s the Manager we’re talking about." Betty ate quickly, and Chen Ze felt she was almost eating fast enough to leave afterimages, her chopsticks flying.

"Eat slower, be careful not to choke," Chen Ze said, sowhat speechlessly. Betty ate as if her throat didn’t exist, and Chen Ze even thought that if she tilted her head back, he could’ve just poured the food in.

Chen Ze ate at a leisurely pace, patiently waiting for the Goubuli buns. Although he had already wrapped the at filling with sea cucumber mbrane, he was still unsure if it would work.

It made Chen Ze quite nervous.

"Manager, I want to beco a great hero like Destiny!" Ronna lifted her head and looked at Chen Ze with earnest eyes.

The grains of rice at the corner of her mouth, however, made her look rather comical. Chen Ze passed her a napkin with a chuckle.

"Ronna will certainly beco a great hero," Chen Ze nodded earnestly.

After all, you’re Joan of Arc, the one who will lead France to overthrow England. Compared to the France of later generations, with their ’light-speed surrender,’ Joan of Arc is truly a role model.

Those who chant ’Today’s disgrace to France’ every day will not deny that Joan of Arc is a heroic figure.

"Thank you, Manager!" Ronna bowed respectfully and then left with the large pizza Chen Ze had given her.

"Manager, can Ronna really beco a hero?" Betty asked curiously. She had thought all along that Chen Ze was just consoling Ronna.

"Of course," Chen Ze nodded with conviction. It was inevitable for Ronna to beco a hero.

Unless he did sothing sneaky, like keeping Ronna by his side, corrupting her with delicious food and the pleasures of modern life until she fell.

However, Chen Ze had no intention of doing that because he felt it would be quite pointless. Besides, corrupting Joan of Arc, such a remarkable historical figure, and preventing her from making an appearance would be a loss.

[You have made a barely acceptable Goubuli bun, and your lost cuisine experience has increased by 5 points.]

[You have devised the rough thod for making Goubuli buns on your own, rewarded with one Goubuli bun recipe.]

[First successful research on lost cuisine, rewarded with 500 points of lost cuisine experience.]

Suddenly, three notification boxes smacked Chen Ze right in the face, causing him to cover his nose involuntarily.

"Hiss... it hurts, it hurts!" Chen Ze grimaced, holding his nose. The System was particularly inhumane; the notification boxes would stack up and accumulate, causing physical harm to Chen Ze.

"This darned System. But what’s this Goubuli bun recipe?" Chen Ze was curious. He felt that the Goubuli bun recipe in his mory had changed...

Chen Ze took out a pen and recorded the Goubuli bun recipe on paper, astonishnt dawning on him as he realized the ingredients listed had changed.

"Is this... the real Goubuli bun recipe?" Chen Ze was stunned. He hadn’t expected the System to actually give him the authentic Goubuli bun recipe.

"Betty, watch the restaurant!" Chen Ze dashed out imdiately, not even bothering to change out of his chef’s clothes. He was so excited that he couldn’t wait to try making these lost Goubuli buns.

"Eh?" Betty watched Chen Ze with a dazed expression.

"Why does the manager keep going out today..." Betty scratched her head, then continued to wash dishes with her head down.

"The wisdom of the ancients," Chen Ze sighed. He had never thought of using these ingredients to make Tianjin at-stuffed buns, and to also be able to blend the fresh flavor of seafood into the broth.

"But my rough thod was about right," Chen Ze nodded, finding the idea of using sea cucumber’s inner lining to wrap the frozen at indeed feasible, even though the actual recipe called for sothing else.

Having purchased the necessary ingredients, Chen Ze hurried back to the restaurant and imdiately dived into the kitchen.

"Oh, Betty, you eat these buns," Chen Ze said, taking out the barely acceptable Tianjin at-stuffed buns and placing them in a plastic bag for Betty.

"Thank you, Manager~" Betty happily accepted them, as she was indeed not yet full.

Betty blew on the bun to cool it down before taking a bite.

With each bite, the hot juice shot straight into Betty’s mouth, with every bite rich in umami, and pork filling seemingly containing a hint of seafood flavor.

"Mmm, it’s so de-lish!" Betty said, unable to speak clearly because of the heat, yet she was reluctant to put down the bun in her hand.

Chen Ze smiled, for this was only a makeshift attempt at Tianjin at-stuffed buns. What would the taste be like if he used the original recipe?

Chen Ze was very curious.

"Manager, I want to ask, it’s been really hot recently at our place, and it seems like the custors don’t really want to eat burgers. What should we do?" Betty stood outside, asking worriedly.

"Hot weather? Generally, when it’s really hot, people indeed don’t feel like eating much. So, at such tis, sothing appetizing is often needed to stimulate the appetite," Chen Ze was making the filling and answered Betty’s question.

"What sort of things?" Betty’s tail swayed left and right.

"There are quite a few options, but the simplest one is hawthorn juice. Chill it, and it’s not bad for cooling off and stimulating the appetite," Chen Ze said as he started heating the soup and then began to knead the dough.

"Hawthorn? That can be used to make juice?" Betty blinked, recalling the last ti she saw hawthorn was in a movie channel, in sothing called ’The Story of the Hawthorn Tree’ or the like.

"Sure, not to ntion hawthorn. In Africa, so people even make cakes out of mosquitoes. What’s so strange about that?" Chen Ze gave Betty an odd look, not understanding what was strange about hawthorn.

"Eww, Manager, can you pick sothing else?" Betty shuddered at the thought. Could mosquitoes really be eaten? She couldn’t imagine how those people made mosquito cakes.

"Then how about Tom Yum Soup? It’s also used as an appetizer," Chen Ze thought for a mont before he rembered another option.

As a Thai delicacy, Tom Yum Soup was even used for a heritage application, showing its deliciousness in a roundabout way.

Thailand, as a Southeast Asian country with hot weather, also needed appetizing dishes to avoid affecting the appetite.

However, Southeast Asian countries generally share so similarities with India, such as a liking for spices, and Tom Yum Soup is naturally one of them.

"Tom... Tom Yum Soup? What is that?" Betty grew even more curious.

"It’s a kind of appetizing soup. Here, let make it for you later, and you’ll know. It’s pretty good for stimulating the appetite." Although the English translation of Tom Yum Soup is Sour and Spicy Shrimp, it can also be paired with pork, beef, and lamb.

Chen Ze set the dough aside as he still needed to add a few things to it.
