"Lafra will co later," Stan said leisurely as he swallowed the Buffet whole.

"What’s wrong?" Chen Ze was a bit confused. Lafra’s coming was quite normal, unless she had sothing to do; otherwise, she would always co to the Dream Restaurant and take her cola.

"He still doesn’t know?" Stan looked toward Betty, who nodded gravely.

Stan looked thoughtfully at the bewildered Chen Ze. Originally, after he learned that Chen Ze had asked that person to deliver a cake to Lafra, he thought Chen Ze must have already gotten together with Lafra. He didn’t expect that Chen Ze was still clueless.

If it weren’t for the rich life aura emanating from Chen Ze, Stan might even think that Chen Ze was actually an emotionless Necromancer.

After all, only Necromancers are so insensitive to others’ feelings.

"What on earth are you talking about?" Chen Ze looked at Stan and Betty with a puzzled expression, noting the surprising uniformity of their expressions.

"It’s nothing, Manager," Betty said, patting Chen Ze’s shoulder with a look of sympathy.

"???" Chen Ze felt his expression could be used as a .

anwhile, in the Soul Abyss.

Beings of both the positive and negative planes knew that the Soul Abyss was a dreadful place, a hell for the faithless and those who desecrated the divine, but no sentient being had ever set foot in it.

Erin lay blankly on the empty ground. There was nothing here, just emptiness everywhere. The sky was white, the ground was white; looking around, one could see nothing.

Pure white hell.

How much ti had passed? Erin’s eyes were vacant. Here, souls could not rest, and Erin felt like she had been here for ten thousand years.

Ten thousand years... What is ten thousand years? What is my na again?

Erin looked at her hand. Without a way to asure ti, she only knew that it was always pure white no matter when.

It had been too long, so long that Erin was almost forgetting her own na, her past.

Erin stood up, turned her head, and looked around. There was nothing; there wasn’t even a sound here.

Erin instinctively clenched her claws, but she could grasp nothing.

"Oh... hmm... I? I..." Erin slowly opened her mouth, no longer rembering how to speak.

Why do I clutch my claws? Why? Erin felt she was forgetting sothing very important.

It was a terrible feeling. A voice inside Erin’s head told her that it was sothing very important, sothing that must not be forgotten, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t rember what it was.

What exactly... exactly... have I forgotten? Erin grasped her head in agony.

"Hmm... I..." Why am I crying? Erin touched her eyes, tears continuously welling up.

Why... why am I crying... What is crying? Erin looked blankly at the white sky as tears kept sliding down.

"The Soul Abyss is actually a very terrifying place," Lafra said, sitting on a chair, swinging her legs leisurely.

After resolving so complicated affairs, she finally had ti to rest.

"I heard that the souls there are subjected to endless tornt," Betty chid in, obviously aware of the formidable reputation of the Soul Abyss.

However, Succubi are inherently faithful followers of the God of Desire, so there is no chance of them being thrown into it.

"Actually, Soul Abyss is just blank," Lafra said, taking a sip of cola and lounging contentedly on the table.

Chen Ze watched Lafra’s relaxed deanor from the kitchen and smiled before continuing to prepare the ingredients for the garlic eggplant.

"It turns you to stone," Stan chid in, he had eaten an exceptional amount of Buffet today, forty-two servings already.

Fortunately, Chen Ze had prepared plenty of raw materials, otherwise he would have had to consider asking Stan to switch to sothing else.

"Right, a day on the outside is ten thousand years in there," Lafra leaned on the table, sneaking glances at Chen Ze, who was focused on cooking in the kitchen.

This damned guy, why is he so tender to that Flea too? Don’t you know you’re mine?

Lafra stamped her foot in irritation.

"There is nothing there, no sound, Oblivion constantly erodes the soul, making it into a stone that knows nothing and can rember nothing," Stan said all in one breath.

"Mr. Stan is eating a lot today," Chen Ze said as he served up five servings of Buffet, with Betty following with a plate of garlic eggplant, which she placed on Lafra’s table.

"This guy just plainly doesn’t want to take up a post at the Dark Council. Once I’m done with my business, he’s the next Chair," Lafra said gleefully, happy at the thought of this old guy, who only knew about cultivation, getting a headache over such trivial matters.

Chen Ze made a face; he didn’t quite understand why a position that sounded so glorious was t with such resistance from Stan and Lafra.

Perhaps these are just the troubles of the influential? Everyone has troubles; the influential do as well, it’s just their troubles are different from those of ordinary people.

"What is this? It tastes so good!" Lafra said delightedly, looking at the garlic eggplant in front of her. The flavor of this dish exceeded her expectations, even surpassing the Magical Mapo Tofu Chen Ze had made before.

"This is garlic eggplant, Lafra," Chen Ze said with a smile as he placed an apple on Lafra’s table.

After eating garlic, eating an apple can help remove the garlic sll, they say.

Chen Ze was particularly proud of this garlic eggplant dish, having received an excellent rating from the System.

Chen Ze felt maybe he had a talent for grilling eggplants and planned to feature garlic eggplant as a special recomnded dish for a week.

Stan did not look at Lafra; he could, of course, sll the fragrance perating the air, but he still preferred the Buffet.

The sweet taste made Stan very comfortable.

"Manager, this is tonight’s al, right?" Betty said, eyeing the garlic eggplant on Lafra’s table, continuously swallowing.

"Yeah, that’s right," Chen Ze said, feeling a little shaky under Betty’s gaze, thinking that if he said no, Betty would resort to all kinds of cutesy pleading.

But the problem was, Betty’s thods of acting cute and begging were all learned from ani, which could seem pretty out of place.

Chen Ze looked at the lively restaurant, feeling a bit dazed, when a very serious question suddenly occurred to him.

If Soul Abyss is what Stan and the others described, and if Erin, who had been thrown in there for who knows how many years, had already lost her mory?

If she had lost her mory, was she still Erin Charlotte Lingling? Was she still the mother that Flea had always wanted to see again?

If she had lost her mory, was she still herself?

Chen Ze shivered.
