"Betty, thank you." The raggedly dressed succubus tightened her clothing, although it was hardly useful.

"Lindsay, how did you get caught by humans? You have an affinity for fire magic," Betty said with confusion as she gazed at her companion. She thought she was seeing things when she spotted her friend on an auction flyer.

"Fla Demons attacked us, and I was captured..." Lindsay sighed. Before she could continue, Betty understood what had happened.

Fla Demons, being hulking creatures with no interest in succubi bodies, would rather sell a succubus prisoner to slave traders than waste food keeping her.

"It’s so cold, Betty, how co you..." Lindsay followed Betty into her house. Although she had heard about her friend’s current situation on the way, she was still shocked to see it firsthand.

This was the Pri Material Plane, and Betty, a succubus, was living well without clinging to a human noble. It was almost unbelievable.

Many priests of the Church of Light wouldn’t mind sending a succubus like Betty to be burned at the stake.

"For many reasons, you can stay here. Don’t you plan to go back to your group?" Betty found an empty room.

"Why go back? If they didn’t co to redeem , it ans they have given up on ," Lindsay shook her head and sat on the bed.

"Alright, then you rest for a bit, change your clothes, and I’ll head off to work~" Betty was ready to close the door. She understood all too well the nature of slave traders and knew what was most needed after escaping ’that’ hell was ti to heal the wounds.

"Betty, it’s so cold..." Lindsay touched the windowsill, which still had ice on it.

"Lindsay, it’s already spring~" Betty closed the door with a smile.

When she got to the basent, Betty looked again at the door that appeared right in the center and laughed happily. She changed her clothes and stepped through the door.

Familiar chi of the wind chi, familiar place, and familiar restaurant manager made Betty feel at ease.

"Betty? You ca just in ti. Co, sit and eat," Chen Ze sat alone in the empty restaurant, slowly gnawing on a chicken leg.

"Eh, Manager, no business today?" Betty wiped the corner of her mouth and quickly sat down, putting on gloves and started gnawing at the piping hot fried chicken.

"Yeah, just sent off two custors," Chen Ze said sowhat helplessly. Flea had had teary eyes, and he simply couldn’t bear to refuse her.

Then Alisa returned the Gold Coins she owed Chen Ze, giving him another sum of money.

"How about you? Did the auction go smoothly?" Chen Ze took a big gulp of iced cola.

"Pretty well, thank you, Manager." Betty hadn’t expected Lindsay to finally sell for a high price of nine thousand Gold Coins.

"If you hadn’t given twelve thousand Gold Coins, I might not have been able to buy her freedom," Betty said, patting her chest, sowhat frightened.

She recalled how, at the auction, Lindsay’s surprise and joy at seeing her, and the longing, hopeful look during the final bidding phase had put imnse pressure on her.

"What are you talking about? I only gave you eight thousand Gold Coins, rember that," Chen Ze rolled his eyes and then glanced at his phone.

"I’m going to fetch sothing." Chen Ze darted out through a small door—the delivery had arrived.

Betty looked at the plate on the table, which still had four chicken legs left.

"I’ll just have one, or the Manager won’t have any left to eat..."

"The last one! I swear!"

"Why can’t I control my hands!"

Chen Ze watched the empty plates with a twitch at the corner of his mouth, took a deep breath, and thankfully, he was prepared, or else he might have gone hungry at lunch.

While storing Hastur’s items in the basent, Chen Ze thought about what dish he would make today.

Then Chen Ze rembered a dish he and his roommates used to order when they went out for teppanyaki during his university days, Garlic Eggplant.

At first, Chen Ze was resistant, because he didn’t like garlic that much; the intense garlic flavor was indeed morable.

Especially after eating garlic, speaking would always carry a breath, irresistibly so...

But Chen Ze’s view on garlic completely changed after he tasted Garlic Eggplant; he had to admit that garlic was indeed an important part of Huaxia cuisine.

Chen Ze took out an eggplant, washed it, and sliced it open from the middle, setting it aside for later use.

Although steaming was also a thod for making Garlic Eggplant, Chen Ze preferred to bake it, feeling that only baked eggplant had that special aroma.

Chen Ze then chopped up so garlic and started making the most important seasoning. The eggplant itself didn’t have a strong flavor, so if the seasoning wasn’t good enough, it would affect the quality of the dish.

Fortunately, Chen Ze had a sensitive nose, so after a couple of simple tries, he created his first Garlic Eggplant dish.

Chen Ze rubbed his nose; he could now sll the spices in the air more intensely, and even detect so of the aromas coming from the basent.

Chen Ze silently touched the stone slab, and thanks to the Nasal Protection Spell, he didn’t feel like sneezing.

However, Chen Ze liked this reward, for he could now sll any issues with the seasoning he had just mixed.

"Alright, let’s make the next one," Chen Ze said, rubbing his nose, confident that the next dish would be even better.

"Welco to Dream Restaurant—Lord Stan," Betty’s voice ca from the living room, alerting Chen Ze to which client had arrived.

"Let’s make the Buffet first." Without needing Betty to say anything, Chen Ze started on the Buffet, knowing Stan was fond of buffets.

"There’s a concert tomorrow," Stan suddenly ntioned.

"Concert? The Wind Moon Band’s?" Chen Ze was taken aback, but he soon understood Stan’s implication.

"Your opinion?" Stan’s words were as concise as ever.

"No, I initially told her to take it slow, but she insisted on holding a concert," Chen Ze said as he served five Buffets.

"She has requested her subordinates to attend," Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, finding conversations with Stan exhausting due to his curt speech.

It seed Hastur wasn’t as indifferent as he had claid; was this a request for Stan’s subordinates to attend the concert?

Chen Ze wondered who it was that suggested using an empty concert venue to motivate an idol group.

But for so reason, Chen Ze suddenly really wanted to see what a concert in another world would be like, curious about the experience.
