Chen Ze was feeling a little ambivalent at the mont, partly fearful, probably a consequence of having watched the movie before.
On the other hand, Chen Ze was quite interested, as he had a powerful Magic Circle, his own safety wasn’t much of an issue.
"Clack... clack..." The hair-raising sound ca from the top of the stairs and then, a woman covered in blood crawled down.
Her pale face, sared with blood, and the bizarre, twisted posture made Chen Ze couldn’t help but remark.
It’s still the good old flavor.
Following the usual formula of Ju-On, maybe he should be sitting paralyzed on the ground now, helplessly scooting back, waiting for Kayako to press her definitely not beauty-filtered face against his?
When he first watched Ju-On, Chen Ze had really wanted to critique it, wondering why the characters didn’t run when it seed that even Kayako didn’t grab onto the victims’ legs.
After so thought, Chen Ze figured the only explanation was that the terror of seeing Kayako crawl down paralyzed the victims so much that they could do nothing but wait for death.
Although in reality running was futile, once you entered Kayako’s house, she pursued you as if you owed her millions, with no use in hiding even in a temple.
Speaking of which, Japanese temples really lost face for being unable to subdue any kind of evil spirits.
Kayako kept crawling closer, the clacking noise getting nearer as well.
Chen Ze silently activated the Magic Circle, and a flash of purple light later, Kayako was trapped in place.
Looking at the ensnared Kayako, Chen Ze curiously squatted down to take a closer look. Kayako’s hollow eyes showed no emotion. She kept squirming, trying to break through the Magic Circle’s barrier, but to no avail.
"Beauty?" Chen Ze greeted.
"Clack..." Kayako disappeared on the spot and was then pulled out by the Magic Circle again, so it seed Kayako’s ability to teleport was gone as well.
"Kayako, you must feel so much hatred, having been killed by your husband, your son being killed, even your cat died," Chen Ze attempted to reason with her, as many protagonists in Japanese animation liked to defeat their adversaries with a verbal barrage.
"Clack... clack clack..." Kayako showed no response, tears of blood flowed from the corners of her eyes, and she stretched out her hands desperately, but couldn’t grasp Chen Ze.
Chen Ze scratched his head, wondering if Kayako had really been assimilated into a monster of Ju-On? Lacking her own thought process, mindlessly killing everyone who entered the house, thereby intensifying the curse’s power?
But that didn’t quite make sense either. Chen Ze checked on Baidu and had seen a post analyzing that Kayako was in fact the master of the curse, not the curse itself.
After all, in one version of Ju-On, Kayako let the female lead experience her own fate, and then discovered that the female lead also died with the sa kind of hatred, which made her more firmly believe in her own reasoning.
But the Kayako in front of him was like a program, rely trying to kill him, completely devoid of reason, and lacking the ability to think.
"Forget it, might as well just kill her," Chen Ze shook his head, snapped his fingers, and with a flash of light from the Magic Circle, Kayako disappeared into thin air.
Chen Ze returned to the kitchen, planning to continue cutting his squid since there was a lot of work to do today.
"Clack..." A familiar sound, Chen Ze silently glanced down, and saw Kayako crawling out from under the kitchen cabinet, then getting trapped by the Magic Circle.
"What a joke?" Chen Ze felt a bit annoyed. Although he had watched Ju-On many tis, suddenly seeing Kayako’s ’peak beauty’ was still a bit too much to bear.
Chen Ze thought for a mont, and Kayako dispersed once again.
Chen Ze frowned and had the Magic Circle scan his body, then found that there was a grudge on his shoulder, from which Kayako’s energy fluctuations were surging.
After erasing the grudge, he didn’t see Kayako again.
"Good thing I noticed early, otherwise if I turned over in sleep and found Kayako lying on top of ..." Chen Ze shivered.
"Wait a second... Kayako is a woman... what am I afraid of? I would have known not to get rid of her." Chen Ze annoyingly slapped his own head.
With the Magic Circle, isn’t Kayako allowed to do whatever she wants?
Chen Ze shook his head and continued preparing the ingredients for the next day.
The afternoon hurried by, and when the Wind Chi sounded, Chen Ze had already made two buckets of roasted squid himself.
"Human boy, give a special dish," Chen Ze’s mouth twitched; he didn’t quite like Flea, that oddball.
Still, Chen Ze responded and began to prepare the special dish for today.
When Chen Ze brought out the special dish, he saw Flea lying on the table with a look of boredom.
"Please enjoy your al, guest," Chen Ze said as he placed the plate down and prepared to return to the kitchen; he didn’t want to interact too much with Flea.
"Wait!" Flea called out to Chen Ze.
"What is it?" Chen Ze turned to look back, seeing a main course, a side dish, a dessert, and a drink with no problems.
Flea didn’t speak but silently stared at Chen Ze, who was completely at a loss.
It took quite a while before Flea shifted her gaze and began to eat the dish Chen Ze had brought out.
"What’s the matter?" Chen Ze beca even more curious.
"It’s nothing, seeing the face of a virgin just significantly improved my mood," Flea said with a face full of pleasure.
Chen Ze took a deep breath, wishing he had poured Magma Juice into this bastard’s Nine Turns Intestine!
"Do you have any wine?" Flea spoke up again.
Chen Ze shook his head; his restaurant indeed didn’t serve alcohol, mainly because he didn’t like to drink much.
"Tch, a restaurant that doesn’t serve wine, what’s the point of running it?" Flea pouted.
Chen Ze scratched his head, thinking that this was true; most restaurants do offer so kind of alcohol, whether it’s liquor, beer, or red wine, at least a couple of them.
Perhaps he should stock so wine to sell tomorrow?
"I heard from Riesel that your place often hosts so important figures?" Flea asked leisurely as she took a bite of intestine.
"Yeah." Chen Ze nodded, it was true.
"Do you know any powerful beings who can go to the Soul Abyss?" Flea looked up at Chen Ze, who thought there was a sense of nervousness in her eyes for so reason.
"The Soul Abyss? What is that?" Chen Ze had never heard of this place.
"It’s said that powerful souls, if they don’t believe in gods, will be cast into the Soul Abyss to suffer endless tornt."
Chen Ze shook his head; he still had no idea.
"Could soone like Stan go?" Chen Ze felt that among his guests, aside from Hastur, Stan was the most powerful.
Saitama was incalculable since the realms were different.
"Even Stan can’t, the Undead can’t enter the Soul Abyss; that’s the Grim Reaper’s domain," Flea said, her mood sowhat downcast.
Chen Ze pondered; he didn’t think Flea was asking this question on a whim.
It seed Flea had her own story.
