Gao Daniu glanced at Sikong Wuyou, "My little brother is mischievous, better let hold him, so as not to dirty your clothes, my lord."
The hostility from Gao Daniu was quite evident, and Sikong Wuyou wasn’t insistent on holding the child. He casually handed Xiaoniu over.
Having soone take the child was even better; he had been holding him rely to prevent An Ning from getting tired.
However, glancing at his now dirty white clothes and the spot of drool on his chest, Sikong Wuyou helplessly touched his forehead.
If this wasn’t his future brother-in-law, he’d have thrown him ten thousand miles away.
After entering the room, An Ning asked Gao Daniu, "Brother Daniu hasn’t ntioned, what brings you here?"
Gao Daniu replied, "Yesterday, my uncle said that grandma is seriously ill, so I had to visit her, stayed overnight. I was really worried about ho, so I left Erniu and little sister there, and I returned. As soon as I got back, I heard from dad that you were injured and brought Xiaoniu back. This rascal is sturdy, worried he might hurt you again, so I rushed here."
"It’s nothing, just small wounds, and they’ve healed already. It’s pretty dull at ho during winter, letting Xiaoniu stay with for a few days is good," said An Ning.
"Is that so, as long as you’re not tired, today Xiaoniu can stay. I’ll co tomorrow to help take care of him," Gao Daniu said, casting a subtle glance at Sikong Wuyou.
Gao Daniu’s glance did not escape Sikong Wuyou’s keen senses.
Yet, a Gao Daniu wasn’t enough to be considered an opponent.
It’s not about looking down on people; rather, if the two of them stood together, anyone with eyes would know whom to choose.
Besides, Sikong Wuyou had long noticed, An Ning is actually most attracted to looks.
For the first ti, being good-looking beca a source of pride for Sikong Wuyou.
As dusk fell, Sikong Wuyou was leisurely sipping tea, while Gao Daniu held Xiaoniu beside him, neither showing any sign of leaving.
An Ning felt awkward, "It’s late, Brother Daniu, why not stay for dinner?"
Gao Daniu, however, asked Sikong Wuyou, "The County Office isn’t close from here; my lord, aren’t you going back?"
Sikong Wuyou put down the rough cup with his slender jade-like fingers and suddenly stood up, saying, "Naturally, I must return."
After speaking, Sikong Wuyou again looked at An Ning, "I’m leaving."
His deep affection seed natural, his tone relaxed, reflecting his familiarity with An Ning.
"Well... take care on the road." Though she knew he was good at martial arts, she couldn’t help but worry.
Sikong Wuyou slightly raised the corner of his mouth and left without looking back.
An Ning kept looking at his back, feeling sowhat lancholic, wondering if he left so briskly because he didn’t care.
With pursed lips, she turned back as Gao Daniu walked over, "Second sister, it’s getting late, I won’t stay either."
"Alright, be careful on the road, big brother." An Ning took Xiaoniu over and said.
Gao Daniu took a few steps toward the door, then turned back, "Second sister, are you and Lord County Magistrate... very familiar?"
Familiar, of course they were.
They are currently a couple, though in such ancient tis, it’s inconvenient to make it public.
"Not very familiar, my lord is a really nice person; he has helped several tis. When I was injured, he even brought back," An Ning said.
An Ning, who had never been in a relationship, was oblivious of the hurt her words might cause Gao Daniu at this mont.
