Wen Ran’s chest was brimming with unbridled anger.

But she knew that safety always ca first while driving, especially during rush hour when the roads were crowded. A montary distraction could easily lead to an accident.

Still, she couldn’t deny that, given her current mood, she felt like crashing into sothing—right now!

Crash into Fu Chenlie and make him repair his car again. Crash into him so that his insurance premiums skyrocket next year!

But that was rely a thought; she didn’t actually act on it.

At a red light, Wen Ran finally took out her phone to check the restaurant details Liu Jing had sent. Oh, it happened to be in the sa direction as where she was headed.

Fu Chenlie noticed her checking her phone and remarked casually, "If Mrs. Fu doesn’t like dining with another woman, I can cancel right now, and we can go ho."

"Do what you want. Eat with whoever you please—even if you’d rather have a dog accompany you for a al—I wouldn’t care," she retorted.

"Wen Ran, are you insulting ?"

The light turned green.

As Wen Ran started driving again, her tone was calm and indifferent. "No, I was rely giving an example, Mr. Fu. No need to overthink it."

He let out a cold snicker. His brows knitted as his gaze swept over her hand gripping the steering wheel, noticing her ring finger was bare.

Was the wedding ring still on the desk?

With this thought, the man pulled out his phone and sent Cheng Cheng a WeChat ssage.

[Cheng Cheng, go to the driver’s lounge in my office and check Wen Ran’s desk. See if there’s a ring there. If you find it, put it in the drawer of my desk.]

Cheng Cheng quickly replied.

[Got it, Mr. Fu.]

Fu Chenlie put his phone away and sat quietly, waiting for Cheng Cheng’s response.

Since Cheng Cheng was likely still at the office, it didn’t take long for him to send back a photo: [Mr. Fu, is this the ring?]

Fu Chenlie: [Yes.]

Cheng Cheng: [I’ve placed it in this spot in your drawer.]

Fu Chenlie glanced at it and replied with a simple "Okay," before putting away the phone.

After about fifteen minutes, the car stopped outside a restaurant.

Wen Ran spoke coldly. "Boss, you’ve arrived at your dining location."

He responded with a curt "Mm" and started unbuckling his seatbelt to get out.

As he pushed the car door open and stepped out with one leg, he suddenly thought of sothing. Turning his head, he looked at Wen Ran. "Get out too. Have dinner with ."

She refused without hesitation. "No need. I’m just a driver. It wouldn’t be appropriate for to intrude on my boss’s date with another woman. I’m quite mindful of boundaries."

Her ambiguous statent made Fu Chenlie’s dark eyes narrow slightly. "You’re jealous and throwing a tantrum over this?"

Wen Ran’s tone remained flat and emotionless. "Boss, you’re joking. I don’t have the qualification nor the interest to feel that way. I simply don’t want to share a al with people I don’t wish to see."

Hearing this, he instinctively interpreted her "people I don’t wish to see" as referring to Liu Jing. His gaze lingered on her as he spoke again, his tone gentler this ti, even carrying a hint of placation. "Then we can go ho for dinner and not see her."

Maintaining eye contact with him through the windshield as they conversed, Wen Ran turned her head and t his eyes squarely. Her gaze was cold and composed, while her red lips parted to speak. "The person I don’t want to see isn’t Liu Jing."

Hearing this, Fu Chenlie’s face instantly darkened several degrees.

The aning of her words couldn’t have been laid out more clearly. How could he not understand now?

His clenched molars betrayed the fury bubbling up inside him. His whole being was teetering on the edge of an explosive rage, as icy snickers escaped between breaths.

So coaxing didn’t work, and she insisted he take the hard approach, did she?

Fu Chenlie suppressed the emotions spiraling wildly in his chest, nodding deliberately as his face turned as cold as ice.
