Fu Group flourished with talent, and only CEO Zhou knew the hardships of rising from an intern to the position of financial director.
It seed her affection for Fu Chenlie was truly deep in her bones.
Wen Ran felt a trace of admiration for her.
She glanced at the man while driving and asked, "So, how did you respond to CEO Zhou?"
"Wen Ran, are you even listening to ?"
"I am listening. It must not have been easy for CEO Zhou to work her way up to the financial director position, and despite all her efforts, you kept turning down her dinner invitations. She finally got up the courage to confess her feelings this ti, so how did you respond to her?"
Fu Chenlie, "..."
He brought up another woman’s confession to show her how he was worthy of being liked.
He asked her what extent she could go to if she fell for him.
But why was her focus on CEO Zhou who confessed to him?
Fu Chenlie helplessly pinched the bridge of his nose.
Finally, he answered her question, "I’m married already, what else could I say?"
"But you have to say sothing, don’t you? CEO Zhou is so inspirational. It mustn’t have been easy for her to co this far. She has put in so much for you, you can’t just say nothing, can you?"
"She said she liked , I told her not to think about things that are aningless."
Wen Ran, "..."
That was just too cruel.
She pressed on, "Aren’t you moved at all?"
"Why should I be moved?"
"You really are..."
Forgive her limited vocabulary; she couldn’t think of an appropriate adjective to save her life.
Wen Ran felt a bit sorry for CEO Zhou.
She had worked hard for many years, and even after becoming the Financial Director of Fu Group, she still couldn’t win the man she liked.
There really was no fairness in the world of love.
"Can you answer now? If you liked , to what extent could you go for ?" Fu Chenlie brought up his original question again.
Wen Ran was speechless, frowning, "Boss, don’t you think what you’re saying is rather pointless?"
The man shot her a sideways glance, his eyes conveying a "how dare you" sentint.
She hurriedly continued, "Hypothetical questions only get hypothetical answers, they’re not of any real value."
At a red traffic light, Wen Ran stepped on the brake, turned to look at him, her attractive almond eyes sparkling with a hint of amusent, "Boss, if you really want to know what I would do for you if I fell for you, then you can chase , make fall for you, and then you’ll find out."
Fu Chenlie first raised an eyebrow in surprise, then scoffed coldly, "You sure dare to dream."
"Everyone has the right to dream."
"Heh."
The light turned green, and Wen Ran drove off again.
Silence fell back inside the car.
Fu Chenlie leaned back in the passenger seat, his gaze fixed on Wen Ran’s profile, observing her focused on the road as she drove, a faint smile curling on his lips.
Chase her?
He was indeed inclined to do so.
After all, only if he caught her, she fell for him, and they slept together, could she possibly beco pregnant.
As long as she was pregnant, Grandma would tell him where Wan Ning was, and he could then bring Wan Ning back.
Fu Chenlie nearly arrived at this conclusion without hesitation.
But thinking further, the issues following Jiang Wan Ning’s return caused the smile on his lips to fade slightly.
He and Wen Ran were currently husband and wife.
What was he going to do after Wan Ning’s return?
Should he wait for the one-year agreent to end, divorce Wen Ran, and then marry Wan Ning?
Or wait until Wen Ran gave birth to their child before discussing divorce?
The man’s gaze shifted away from Wen Ran, and an indescribable feeling of irritation erged, causing displeasure.
