Fu Chenlie looked at her with trepidation, his brow furrowing slightly, "Cut the crap, just answer the questions I ask. No need for extra words, I don’t want to hear them."
Wen Ran hesitated, so bewildered she even dared not look into his eyes.
What was this man on about?
She stole a glance at him and cautiously asked, "But don’t you hate ? Why suddenly do you want to be the man I like?"
"The little girl at the mall today was pretty, really cute. I want one too. According to your logic and theory, if I beco the man you like, you’d be willing to have a child for ."
"Even if I did, it’s not guaranteed to be a girl."
He looked down at her dismissively. "That’s not sothing you need to worry about."
"...Oh." It sounded like he thought he could control the gender of the child?
Was he that incredible?
Wen Ran couldn’t figure out Fu Chenlie.
But it was clear he didn’t need her to understand.
The man quickly started giving orders again: "Answer the first question I asked."
She pursed her lips, honestly describing, "I like stable guys, who treat well, who consider a priority, who know how to care for my feelings, and who are decent and responsible."
The man sneered mockingly, "Not bad for soone of average looks."
Wen Ran softly reminded him, "... You’ve admitted I’m pretty before, wouldn’t calling average be like slapping your own face?"
"Are you planning to talk about admitting you’re pretty for the rest of your life?"
"Oh, then no."
After saying that, she slowly continued, "Maybe all these rules I’ve set are just to cage myself in. If I really fall for soone, whoever they are, that’s the type of man I’ll like."
Fu Chenlie caught sothing important from her words, his eyes subtly shifting as he pressed, "So, you don’t have soone you like right now?"
Wen Ran said nonchalantly, "No, when did I ever say I did?"
This pleased Fu Chenlie to the point where he couldn’t help but curve his lips up slightly: "I thought you liked Qin Zeyu."
At the ntion of Qin Zeyu, the light in Wen Ran’s eyes dimd significantly.
She couldn’t help but recall the affairs of her youth, her voice inevitably turning downcast: "Back in school, I really liked him, I liked him so much that..."
Fu Chenlie, seeing her bring up Qin Zeyu with a look of regret and longing, lost interest instantly.
He even cut her off rcilessly, "Shut up, I’m not interested in hearing about you and other n."
Wen Ran, "..."
Alright then.
She obediently looked at him: "So we’re done talking, is there anything else, husband?"
"No."
"Then... may I go upstairs?"
He withdrew his gaze from her face, took out a cigarette again, and indifferently dropped two words: "Whatever."
Wen Ran simply uttered an "Oh" and turned to go upstairs.
At the first step, she shook her head to herself.
Ah, who knew what was going through this man’s head today.
Who was Fu Chenlie?
So proud, so conceited, so imperious.
And yet today, just because he saw a pretty little girl at the mall, he wanted a woman of his own, and was willing to lower himself to beco a man he’d always belittled and mocked... the man a woman would like?
That defies common sense, right?!
