Qiu Zhengxun responded after the man’s remark, "You’ve misunderstood, I’m just worried about Ranran. But seeing that she has married such a handso husband, who also graduated from a prestigious university abroad, I think Ranran must have made the right choice and I can rest assured."

Fu Chenlie looked at him coldly, "And what position do you have to be at ease?"

The other man spoke up, "I’ve known Ranran since we were little, and I’ve always treated her like a sister."

He laughed lightly, full of disdain, "A sister?"

Wen Ran felt that Fu Chenlie looked like he wanted to hit soone, so she quickly interrupted their conversation and said to Qiu Zhengxun, "Brother Zhengxun, my grandma made stewed noodles for lunch, would you like to stay and have so?"

"No need, I’ve got things to do, so I’ll be going. Ranran, I wish you and your husband a lifeti of happiness."

"Thank you, Brother Zhengxun."

Qiu Zhengxun smiled, nodded at Fu Chenlie, and turned to leave.

As soon as he left, Wen Ran moved to the side, stepping out of Fu Chenlie’s embrace to stand by herself, her eyes fixed on him with a hint of dissatisfaction.

The man furrowed his brows and asked, "What’s with that look?"

"Who’s hopelessly in love with you?"

"You."

Without even thinking, Wen Ran denied, "Not ."

Fu Chenlie scoffed dismissively, "Really? Then why don’t you run after him now and clarify things with your Brother Zhengxun?"

She frowned and turned to sit back down on the stone bench.

The man quickly followed and sat down beside her before speaking, "Is he the PhD that Grandma talked about?"

Wen Ran responded with a faint "Hmm."

Little did she know—

Fu Chenlie contemptuously dropped a remark, "To think he could compare to , looking like that?"

Wen Ran, "..."

She frowned slightly, "Then you go tell Grandma in the kitchen not to compare Brother Zhengxun with you."

Fu Chenlie’s lazy gaze fell on her face, "Talking back to again? Have you forgotten all our rules?"

"No, I rember them all, but it seems you must have forgotten them, right? Otherwise, why would you tell Brother Zhengxun that you’re my husband? Weren’t you the one who didn’t want to reveal our relationship?"

"Yes, I told you not to reveal it, but that doesn’t an I can’t."

"..."

At that mont, Grandma ca out of the kitchen and asked them, "Who was that just now?"

"The PhD ca over; he brought so sweet potato flour."

"Zhengxun is a good man. After graduating, he returned to our town and has really contributed a lot here."

Wen Ran smiled, "Yes, there aren’t many young people like Brother Zhengxun who are so dedicated to the developnt of their hotown."

Fu Chenlie listened to the grandmother and granddaughter praising another person indifferently.

Hearing the water boiling in the kitchen, Grandma turned towards Wen Ran and said, "The water is boiling, I’m going to cook the noodles. Lunch will be ready in a little while."

"Okay, Grandma."

As soon as Grandma returned to the kitchen, Fu Chenlie’s ambiguous gaze once again fell on Wen Ran, looking her up and down as if he were appreciating sothing.

Wen Ran felt uncomfortable under his gaze and frowned slightly, "What are you looking at for?"

The man scoffed lightly, "I’m just very surprised."

"Surprised by what?"

"Surprised that Ms. Wen actually has so many admirers."

Wen Ran, "..."

What on earth is he talking about?

While Wen Ran was silently exasperated, Fu Chenlie spoke coolly, "Zhao Xiuyun, Qin Zeyu, your Brother Mo Bei, Qiu Zhengxun—whenever Ms. Wen is free, you could gather these people together for a ga of mahjong."

She imdiately frowned and reminded him, "Don’t talk nonsense; Zhao Xiuyun is just a classmate and Brother Zhengxun is just a friend I grew up with, not what you’re imagining."

"Really? Then what’s the story with Qin Zeyu and your Brother Mo Bei?"
