When she finished speaking, Fu Chenlie stared at her calm eyes, slightly moving, as if trying to decode the aning behind her question.
After a few seconds of silence, he suddenly smiled, "Are you concerned about and Xu Tong?"
Without thinking, Wen Ran blurted out, "Why would I care about her?"
The man nodded solemnly, but his gaze grew even more inscrutable as he raised his tone to probe further, "So, are you concerned about ?"
Wen Ran, "..."
Though what he said seed correct, why did she feel that her concern was so superfluous?!
Or rather, it wasn’t concern, but jealousy, jealousy that her husband was dining alone with another woman.
Though they had no love between them, they were still bound by a marriage contract.
She couldn’t help but care about his dealings with other won.
Fu Chenlie caught her hesitant expression, and slightly curved his lips, "Or are you... jealous?"
Jealous?
Wen Ran’s heart stirred, and she imdiately snapped back to reality.
She looked up at him, avoiding the topic of whether she was jealous or not, "You get angry when I pose as soone’s girlfriend, and I dislike that you dine alone with other won, even dropping them ho and letting them sit in the co-driver’s seat. Haven’t you heard that married n shouldn’t let other won sit in their co-driver’s seat so casually?"
"So, can married won sit as co-drivers with single n?"
"..."
He always had a way to counterattack precisely.
Wen Ran lowered her gaze, her face reflecting a deeper lancholy, "If you don’t want to tell why you went out with Ms. Xu, fine, I can’t control you anyway. It has always been you who makes feel dominated."
Watching her bite her lip and lower her gaze, Fu Chenlie felt as if she was the most aggrieved person in the whole world and couldn’t help but scoff coldly.
Yet, inexplicably, he didn’t want to see her looking so distressed.
He reached out, lifted her chin, and his handso face drew closer to hers again, their foreheads almost touching.
Wen Ran watched his sudden movent, nervous and sowhat puzzled, "What are you trying to do? You just said..."
Fu Chenlie cut her off, "Kiss once, and I’ll tell you."
"What?" She was stunned.
He patiently repeated his earlier statent, tempting her gently, "Little crybaby, kiss once, and I’ll tell you why I t with Xu Tong, hm?"
Wen Ran looked into his eyes, feeling as if there was a magnetic pull in them, making it hard for her to look away, but she still retained a shred of rationale and countered, "Who’s the little crybaby? Stop calling nas."
"Aren’t you? A few questions and you’re about to cry. Isn’t that a crybaby?"
"It’s because you’re too scary."
He disagreed, "Am I?"
Without thinking, she responded, "Yes, I’ve never seen anyone as scary as you; when you get angry, it’s as if you’re about to kill soone."
The man chuckled, but this ti, without any sarcasm or displeasure.
He asked her, "If you don’t provoke , would I get angry?"
"You don’t even like , do you really need to get that angry? It’s as if I betrayed you."
"You are Mrs. Fu, and as your husband, hearing others introduce Mrs. Fu as their son’s girlfriend, especially when they actually like you as their daughter-in-law, discussing how much dowry to prepare for you, just put yourself in my shoes, how would I feel?"
Wen Ran, "..."
She knew she was at fault here.
But she had already apologized to him over and over again, yet he was still unyielding.
"Kiss once, hm?" Fu Chenlie saw her dazed expression and spoke again, his voice carrying a guiding, tempting tone.
