"Let’s talk when we et again." Simon Forrester gave her the address, "Have Butler Pierce take you directly. Don’t worry, you don’t need to worry about Third Master Yates getting jealous, I’ve already inford him."

Renee Winslow thought that Jack Yates might not be jealous per se, it was just his strong possessiveness.

However, she couldn’t say these things to Simon Forrester, Jack Yates’s friend; it wouldn’t be appropriate.

"Okay." She replied with a smile.

Simon Forrester was a typical high-ranking official’s son, perfectly embodying the deanor of a pampered and privileged young master of The Capital Circle.

Utilizing his connections, he managed several entertainnt venues in The Quadrangle, such as bars, clubs, and lounges, all opened at pri locations teeming with people.

"Prospect Hill" was his most luxurious club, closed to the public, mainly for entertaining friends and expanding his connections.

Those who could enter Prospect Hill were either young masters within the circle or Crown Princes from various places.

Besides those entertainnt places, Simon Forrester also owned a few hotels that catered to a broader clientele, all in bustling areas.

His ambition wasn’t as large as Jack Yates’s; earning enough to squander was sufficient for him.

Renee Winslow arrived at the place Simon Forrester specified, a bar at Westlake with a modern Chinese decor and an artsy na, The Wanderer’s Tavern.

It was just past three in the afternoon, the bar wasn’t open yet, and Simon Forrester was the only person inside.

Standing behind the wooden bar, Simon Forrester smiled and asked, "Want a drink?" Without waiting for Renee to answer, he added, "Oh, I forgot, Third Brother Yates forbids you from drinking."

Renee smiled a bit. "It’s not that he forbids , it’s that I’m not allowed to drink in front of other n, but in front of him, it’s fine."

Many tis, to add fun, Jack Yates would purposely pour two glasses of red wine before bed and forcibly feed her with his mouth.

Her alcohol tolerance was low, and after a glass of red wine, she’d feel a bit tipsy, her face turned red, and her eyes beca blurry.

At such monts, Jack Yates’s excitent would peak, both intense and tender.

His actions were intense, galloping wildly like a horse across the plains.

His gaze was tender though, during those monts, Jack Yates looked at her so softly, as if water could drip from his gaze, slightly obsessed, gazing through the Wind and Moon Treasure Mirror as if looking at an ancient love story.

And then, Renee would also be imrsed in his gentleness and intensity, getting lost in ecstasy with him, soaring into the clouds.

At that mont, she forgot their status difference, forgot their age, forgot the love-hate entanglent between them, leaving only their physical and emotional joy in union.

"Ha." Simon Forrester chuckled, "With his personality, those who love him will love him madly, and those who hate him will hate him intensely."

Renee snapped back to reality from Simon Forrester’s laughter, calmly replying, "No one would love his personality madly, right?"

If they love him, it’s for his wealth and family background, not for his controlling, perverted personality.

Simon Forrester shook his head, smiling, "There’s a saying, ’One man’s poison is another man’s honey.’ Just because you don’t like it, how do you know others don’t?"

Renee chuckled, "That’s true."

In reality, it wasn’t that she didn’t like Jack Yates, she just hadn’t reached the point of liking him recklessly.

Her affection for Jack Yates had always been restrained, repressed, not daring to invest too deeply.

Simon Forrester brought out a contract and pushed it toward her: "This is the gift transfer contract, you only need to sign it, and I’ll handle the procedures."

Renee glanced at it indifferently and declined again, "It’s not a big deal, you really don’t have to do this."

Simon Forrester handed her a pen, "Sign it. If Third Brother Yates finds out you didn’t take the bar and instead chatted with for over ten minutes, we’ll both have a hard ti. Especially , even if he doesn’t drown in a pig cage, he might beat half to death."

Renee was amused, reached out for the pen, "Okay, I’ll sign."

After signing her na, Renee closed the pen and asked, "Is his company’s situation serious?"

Simon Forrester handed her a glass of orange juice, shaking his head, "I don’t know the specifics either, but I know he’s caught up in sothing big this ti, enough to keep him busy for a while."

What he didn’t say was that Jack Yates and Renee’s relationship was probably nearing its end too.

Out of goodwill, Simon Forrester hinted, "You probably know about his expansion in Southeast Asia."

During the National Day holiday, Renee’s trip to Southeast Asia was known by those close to Jack Yates in the circle.

After all, that extrely romantic drone fireworks show in Maekong not only lit up the night of the tropical monsoon climate but also ignited the hearts of countless people in The Quadrangle.

In that night, hearts full of jealousy and hatred were completely ignited.

The raging fire of the seven emotions and six desires burned in the hearts of countless people, turning into a sharp sword piercing Jack Yates.

Jack Yates was too smooth, and too audacious.

So many people wanted to pull him into the abyss, to see him shattered into pieces.

Renee didn’t hide anything: "I went with him and played there for a few days, but I don’t know about his business matters. He never told about them."

Simon Forrester smiled faintly: "His ambition is too big, and too arrogant. He always thinks he can get whatever he wants, but he’s not aware that many things don’t always go his way."

Renee listened to Simon Forrester’s deliberately ambiguous words but pretended not to understand, and didn’t respond.

Simon Forrester stopped there, not pressing further, and continued talking about Jack Yates.

"He extended his reach to The South, but The South is Matthew Shaw and Declan Donovan’s turf, and those two are not easy to deal with, especially Matthew Shaw, a classic smiling tiger, very insidious."

In Renee’s mind flashed a gentle and elegant face, really not related to "insidious."

But that’s how it normally is; real villains don’t wear the word "evil" on their face.

Just like many corrupt officials, they don’t wear the words "corrupt official" on their face either.

Instead, those big corrupt officials often appear very simple and approachable.

Simon Forrester continued: "Matthew Shaw is hidden, he’s exposed, prone to losing out, yet he doesn’t hold back, but rather becos outrageously bold, even ddling in the military governnt’s affairs over there. This was initially a small issue or a big one, just business if the authorities don’t pursue it, but if they investigate, it’s not as simple as business."

Renee knew what Simon Forrester ant. Even if she didn’t understand politics, she grasps this simple truth.

Simon Forrester sighed: "Anyway, this ti he’s indeed in so trouble, tonight see if he cos ho on ti. If he’s ho on ti, it ans it’s not serious. But if he doesn’t co back all night..."

At this point, Simon Forrester stopped and looked deeply at Renee.

Renee felt a bit uneasy under his gaze, smiled: "What if he doesn’t co ho?"

Simon Forrester: "If Jack Yates can’t protect himself, Renee Winslow, what will you do? Have you thought about it?"

Renee pressed her lips tightly, not speaking; in that mont, in her mind flashed The Western Warlord’s verse.

Oh Yu, oh Yu, how shall I treat you?

Simon Forrester added: "I can assure you Lily Thatcher won’t harm you again, but what about The Yates Family, what about Rina Bell?"

Renee still didn’t speak.

Simon Forrester: "When Jack Yates can’t protect you, on that day, you can’t avoid suffering. I’m not trying to scare you."

Simon Forrester curved his lips into a smile: "Back in the eighties, we had a young maid co to our house, a Shan girl, very pretty, but with a hot temper. My fourth uncle and my little uncle both fell for her, fought over her like a feud for the crown."

"My little uncle frad my fourth uncle for smuggling arms, my fourth uncle frad my little uncle for drug dealing, which gave the rival family an opportunity to sabotage. Both my uncles got caught up and went down, and on the day they did, the young maid committed suicide by jumping off a building."

Leaving The Wanderer’s Tavern, Renee only felt icy, as if plunged into an ice cellar.

Simon Forrester’s words, she listened carefully, and pondered thoroughly.

Though her contact with Simon Forrester wasn’t deep, she felt Simon Forrester wasn’t intentionally trying to scare her, but seed more like giving her a hint.

After getting in the car, Renee looked at Butler Pierce, and asked: "Uncle Pierce, do you think Jack Yates will fail?"

Butler Pierce asked in return: "Which aspect are you referring to?"

Renee: "Any aspect." Then feeling inaccurate, she hurriedly added, "Business aspect then."

Butler Pierce chuckled: "That’s really uncertain, in business, there are profits and losses. As for anything else, nobody is always a winner."

Renee’s heart sank completely, tears involuntarily streaming down her cheeks.

Through the tears, she seed to see the scene Simon Forrester described, of the young maid falling from the building.

A bang, blood everywhere.

And outside, there suddenly ca a bang, scaring Renee into a scream.

Butler Pierce was also startled, quickly turning the steering wheel to avoid an obstacle ahead.

Renee held her phone tightly, and suddenly it rang again, startling her, causing her to drop the phone to the floor.

She hurriedly picked it up, seeing the caller ID "Third Master Yates," tears flowed instantly.

"Hello, Jack Yates." She answered the call crying, "How are you? Will you be back tonight?"

Jack Yates comforted her: "Renee, don’t cry. I’m fine, there’s an engagent tonight, don’t wait for , sleep early."

"No, I’ll wait. I won’t sleep if you don’t co ho."

Jack Yates patiently consoled her: "Listen, sleep early. When you wake up, I’ll be ho."

Renee sniffed, her voice choked: "Jack Yates, if we went back a year and chose again, would you still want with you?"
