"Has Zifeng gone to sleep yet?"
"Not yet."
Yuying’s voice ca from outside the door, Shao Zifeng quickly picked up Qiqi from the lounge chair and stood up: "Qiuqiu, go open the door."
"Ying ying~"
Qiuqiu hopped off Shao Zifeng’s shoulder and flew towards the door with its small wings flapping.
Qiqi’s ears twitched, and it rubbed its eyes with its little paws: "Zifeng, what’s wrong?"
"Mom’s here," Shao Zifeng rubbed its little head: "Go back to sleep."
"ow~" Qiqi nuzzled Shao Zifeng’s palm and fell asleep again, reassured.
"Ah, it’s little Qiuqiu who opened the door, what a good job Qiuqiu."
"Ying ying~"
Qiuqiu happily landed on Yuying’s shoulder, wrapping its little paws around her neck and nuzzling back and forth while Yueyue followed behind, carrying a stool in her mouth, her slender tail swaying this way and that.
"Mom, why have you co?"

Shao Zifeng listened quietly without arguing. He knew Yuying, who had beco accustod to living alone, used to have company at work before she retired, spending ti with a bunch of kids. Since retiring, she had had no one to talk to but the little animals she took in.
"Speaking of which, it reminds ," his mother paused in her movents: "Zifeng, you aren’t getting any younger, shouldn’t you be looking for a partner now?"
"Huh?" Shao Zifeng was startled at the ntion, he hadn’t thought about it at all.
"Look at you, you’re twenty-three this year, almost twenty-four, practically twenty-five. Round it up, and you’re almost thirty," she said, smacking her lips: "If you don’t find soone soon, it’ll beco harder to find a match."
Qiuqiu earnestly spread out its little paws and gestured, soon looking utterly baffled.
Shao Zifeng’s mouth twitched: "Mom, who calculates age like that? And you were a math teacher."
Slap!
Yuying gently smacked him: "I don’t care, I’ve already asked around for you. There are two girls around your age in the whole Shanshui Garden. Tomorrow, I’ll ask Yixing to inquire for you."
"It’s just that they both graduated from prestigious universities, I’m not sure if they’d be interested in you."

The atmosphere suddenly fell silent; the night breeze gently brushed by, and the barking of a dog ca from afar.

The next morning, their mother woke them up on ti, scolding Shao Zifeng like always, seemingly unaffected by his imminent departure.
After breakfast, Shao Yuying dragged Shao Zifeng to the mall to shop for several sets of clothes. She had also planned for him to get his haircut, but Qiuqiu staunchly refused, so she let it be.
Back ho, their mother started preparing lunch while the easily bored Qiqi pulled Shao Zifeng to play gas with her.
During this ti, Shao Zifeng wanted to talk to Qiqi about those energy crystals left by the spirits, but since he himself wasn’t certain, he decided to drop the subject.

Qiqi put down her phone, wrapping herself in her small blanket and rolling around on the bed.
Shao Zifeng stretched and turned his head to look at Qiqi who was gleefully buried in her blanket, "By the way, I haven’t seen Duke around these past few days?"
Qiqi lifted her head, half of it swaddled in the blanket, "I don’t know either, that guy is so skittish, you might not see him for days on end."
Shao Zifeng mused for a mont, "But you know where he hides his treasures, right?"
Qiqi’s eyes lit up, "I’ll take you to them!"
