As Karnstein fled through the forest, he heard the footsteps of the pursuers slowly lessen in ferocity. The biggest danger the vampires could face was the [Regeneration Blocker] provided by the Shadow Hunter System. The fact that the strength of the ability stacked with nearby people with the sa ability ant that with enough people, you could block the regeneration of even the strongest vampires.

Without their regeneration, they were just vulnerable to attacks as humans were, especially to projectiles. This thod could likely take down Marquee or even so of the weaker Duke-ranked vampires.

However, this strategy ca at a cost. There were only so many humans on the planet with the [Regeneration Blocker] ability, not only that but the ability doesn't actually weaken the vampires in any way. If you couldn't land a hit on the vampire in the first place, there was no difference whether you had [Regeneration Blocker] or not.

In the distance, Karnstein noticed so other vampires who seed to be strolling by.

Turns out, it was the Second Progenitor's offspring, Lest and Fuola.

Karnstein could still sense that the humans were still chasing him from behind. Their footsteps, however, faint was still there. It seed that the humans had so sort of system to take down the stronger vampires, aning that they weren't just going to give up once they began running.

Karnestein saw that his only hope was to get aid from Lest and Fuola.

He stopped in front of them as Fuola drew his weapon and took a step back in shock. Lest on the other hand, didn't move a muscle even after the surprise.

"My my, what do we have here?"

"You're the Second Progenitor's Duke aren't you?"

"Oh ? I don't know what you're talking about."

"I know you are, you're pretty famous after all."

"Am I~"

"There's a big group of humans chasing , you might be interested in them."

"Why would I be interested in them?"

"Don't you want so blood?"

"Well, I actually just had lunch, so I'm pretty full."

"Ugh..."

Karnstein appeared to be quite stressed by the situation. He just needed to stall Lest for long enough so that the humans would catch up, and so Lest would be forced to fight as a result.

"You guys are looking for strong offspring, right?"

"I guess~"

"Well, there are so pretty strong humans in this group."

"You think so? How co you aren't going for them."

"Uh... they're a bit too strong for ."

"A bit too strong for you? A Marquee of the Seventh Progenitor?"

"Erm... I'm not in shape right now."

"Eh? Well, now I'm interested."

In the distance, the sound of ruffling of vegetation and stampeding of footsteps loudened, until finally, dark-clothed humans appeared from behind the forest. Lest sensed the danger and quickly drew his crimson sword.

"So... how strong are they exactly?"

As he looked at Karnstein, he noticed that there was a very slight scratch on his hand.

"Ah, they've got the regeneration-blocking tool, don't they?"

"I guess you've figured it out."

"It sounds a bit like you've lured into a trap~"

"Would I do sothing like that?"

"Yes."

As much as they wanted to argue, there wasn't exactly much ti to do so. They were imdiately surrounded by the humans as they began raining various projectiles upon them. The entire area was filled with explosions and debris, filling the air to the point that no one could really see anything anymore.

In the chaos, the deep, musical voice of Lest could be heard.

"Sword, drink my blood~"

In the smoke, an imnse amount of aura began to gather. It was nothing like anything the humans had ever seen. Compared to the other vampires, Lest's strength seed astronomically greater. A rich red aura began surrounding the area as Lest gathered more and more strength into his blade, feeding it with his own blood.

In one strike, he launched a powerful shockwave, instantly blowing away all of the dust and projectiles. The attack was so powerful that entire rows of trees snapped, littering the ground with bark and dark green leaves.

,m "Oh man, I had to feed it so much of my blood~"

The humans who were hiding behind the trees could only watch in awe as this god-like creature walked toward them.

Fuola walked beside Lest, looking around at the various people. Several humans drew their magical weapons and charged at Lest, in an attempt to sowhat subdue him. However, it was to no avail. With hardly any movents, he easily blocked the attacks, appearing apathetic at the entire situation.

"Break him, Raikiri!"

A human began gathering strength within a bright yellow demonic weapon. Lightning gathered at the blade, illuminating the dark forest with a pupil-piercing yellow light. Even Lest was forced to cover his eyes for a mont, before seeing the girl swinging her sword at him.

He quickly blocked with his vampiric blade, but the girl was moving at such a great speed that even he struggled to keep up. However, only a few strikes in, the girl appeared to be slowing down. It seed that her strength didn't last very long.

In one big swing, Lest knocked the girl's demonic weapon straight out of her hand. Her sword flew through the air, digging itself into the dirt a few tres away.

"You're pretty strong, I like you~"

As he walked closer to the girl, he noticed that she had summoned another weapon from her inventory.

"Hey, that's not going to work on , you know?"

However, instead of stabbing Lest, she turned the knife onto herself.

"Ah, I can't have you doing that either."

Before she could stick the blade into her neck. Lest swiftly grabbed her wrist and disard her before picking her up by the neck.

"You'd make a pretty strong vampire, what's your na?"

"...d-die, you filthy bloo...d s-sucker."

"Eh, I can't really hear what you're saying."

Loosening his grip on her neck, he slowly moved his jaws toward her.

Before he could stick his fangs into her neck, he felt a tallic taste in his mouth. It seed that his mouth had been pierced by a blade.

"Co on Fuola... she's such a good specin..."
