Just as it was almost ti to board, Claire Wilde heard a "ding" from her phone as she was about to turn it off; a new text ssage appeared on the screen.

There was no contact na, but she knew who it was, because she had personally deleted that na before.

The text contained only a picture, showing the airport terminal.

Claire instinctively looked out the window, but all she could see were a few employees on the ground.

For the semifinals that were so important to him, he still ca after her.

Unfortunately, everything was too late; her plane was already preparing to take off.

—Ding—

The text page popped up another brief ssage: Rember to wait for next ti.

Claire’s nose tingled, and her eyes reddened as she hesitated whether to reply, but the crew ca to remind her to switch off her phone.

She took a deep breath, turned off the phone, put it in her bag, and turned her head to look out the window. She wondered if the sky over there was as blue as this.

Compared to the excitent and anticipation of her classmates around her, Claire’s eyes were filled with more reluctance to leave.

Julian Yardley looked at the still unresponsive phone screen, standing outside the terminal, gazing at the planes taking off in the sky, unsure which one she would be on.

Shannon Quinn walked over and patted him on the shoulder, not knowing how to comfort him; she simply said, "Let’s go, if we drive fast enough, you might still catch the second half of the match."

Julian lowered his eyes, put away the phone, and said to himself, "It’s okay, it’s not like I won’t see her again. In a few days, I’ll hand in my resignation letter and go find her."

Shannon smiled and said, "Make sure you win quickly, Claire definitely knows about your ga, and she hopes you guys will win, so don’t let her down."

Julian replied blandly, "If she knew about my ga, she definitely wouldn’t have chosen today to leave."

Shannon said no more and pushed him into Simon Rhodes’ car.

She wasn’t sure if it was because of a bit of traffic on the road or so other reason, but Shannon felt her stomach turning.

After dropping Julian at the ga venue, she got out to get so fresh air and left only after watching Julian’s ga.

When Julian arrived, his team was at a disadvantage, but they hadn’t fallen too far behind. After he stepped onto the field, they slowly began to turn the tables and eventually won the ga.

Even though Shannon didn’t quite understand the ga, she could feel the passionate atmosphere at the scene.

Usually looking indifferent, Julian still displayed quite a charisma on the field.

It was no wonder that female teacher made such an inexplicable move.

After the ga ended, Shannon saw that female teacher: slender and tall, with long, chestnut wavy hair, appearing well-educated and even sowhat attractive.

But clearly, Julian had an issue with her.

Jamie Miller, as usual, bought drinks and so expensive sweets to entertain everyone, and naturally, the other team mbers adored her.

Julian ca out of the restroom, and the team started hooting, asking where to eat.

"I have things to do, you guys go ahead and eat, put it on my tab," was Julian’s answer.

As Shannon was waiting for Landon Sutton to co pick her up, she was just standing not too far from the excitent, when Julian walked over to her with his arm casually around her shoulder.

Shannon was well aware of Julian’s intentions, and imdiately noticed Jamie Miller frown, covering her hostility with a smile, and after exchanging a few words with the other mbers, she jogged over: "Julian, this lady is..."

Julian smiled and said, "My new girlfriend."

Shannon’s mouth twitched, feeling her brother was using her as a human shield.

Though Jamie was displeased, she didn’t show it in front of Shannon. Shannon got a glimpse of what a smile concealing a dagger looked like, and it was no wonder Claire had to leave; who could handle this?

Jamie looked Shannon over, then with a smile, said, "I don’t think I’ve seen you before, are you a student of his too?"

Still smiling, Julian mocked, "I wouldn’t dare date my students; if they couldn’t graduate because of you, wouldn’t it be all over again?"

Shannon just stood quietly, thinking this lady really had a pleasant voice, and still she could call her a student even when her son was already in school.

Jamie eyed Shannon with another smile, and being stared at made Shannon feel a bit uneasy.

Julian, not one to let things go, leaned down and whispered, "Let’s go, darling. What do you feel like having today? Western food or Japanese cuisine?"

Shannon secretly glared at him, and Jamie followed suit: "I know a good Japanese place nearby, and I have a mbership card. Why don’t we all go together?"

Shannon whispered quietly to Julian, "Your brother-in-law is about to arrive."

Julian was clearly just putting on a show and gracefully declined Jamie’s offer, saying, "It doesn’t really matter what we eat, the key is who you’re eating with."

Having said this, Julian didn’t even bother to look at Jamie’s struggling to maintain deanor as he put his arm around Shannon and stepped into the elevator.

Just as they entered the elevator, his phone received a text, and Shannon saw it too.

The ssage said: You think changing to another woman will keep from getting to her? I’m telling you, whoever’s with you is bound to be unlucky.

Shannon chuckled, "Well, that last sentence is quite right."

Julian forced a smile and looked at her, "She’s threatening you."

Shannon’s smile faded, "If anything happens to , don’t think you can escape responsibility."

Julian retorted, "What could possibly happen to you? With her little tricks, she’s no match for you, and she still has to ask your husband if she can even bother you."

Shannon rolled her eyes, "Oh, you just want her to provoke so my husband can deal with her on my behalf, getting rid of her without staining your hands. Smart plan."

The elevator door slowly opened, and Julian saw soone waiting outside the elevator and deliberately raised his voice, "Well, isn’t that because brother-in-law is quite capable!"

Shannon wondered why he was suddenly praising Landon Sutton, and only then did she see Landon standing by the elevator door.

"Why are you here so soon?"

Landon naturally took her hand and said, "I was just nearby for business, don’t be running around in this cold weather."

"I ca to watch my brother’s ga." Shannon hooked her arm around Landon’s and turned to Julian, "Let’s go, let’s get sothing to eat."

Julian pouted, "I don’t want to be the third wheel, you go ahead, I have so things to deal with at school."

"Alright then, we won’t wait for you."

"Go, go, go."

With a smile, Shannon linked arms with Landon, chatting as they walked out of the building.

Julian didn’t linger either, fearing Jamie might co after him; he caught a taxi by the door and headed to school.

In the car, Landon finally asked Shannon, "What were you discussing in the elevator?"

"Nothing in particular."

"What’s this about my capabilities?"

Turning her head to et Landon’s curious gaze, with a hint of sothing mischievous, Shannon realized he was probably thinking sothing else entirely. She yelled at him, "Just drive!"
