Shannon Quinn’s response further infuriated Landon Sutton: "So all those stories you told before, they’re just stories, right?"

Hearing this, Shannon felt a pang of sadness.

Looking at the unfamiliar him, she was at a loss for what to do.

She wanted to tell him everything about the past, but feared those mories deeply imprinted in her mind were only stories he couldn’t relate to.

No matter how much she emphasized their love before; that she had never done anything that would betray him; that the child was really his...

Would he believe it?

In the end, he’d probably still have doubts about her character.

So Shannon said to him, "Let’s wait until you regain your mory, anyway, you won’t fully believe now, and I don’t have the energy to argue."

Landon Sutton: "I just want you to tell , what’s your relationship with him?"

He still minded the kiss he saw that night...

This was also the knot in his heart that he couldn’t let go, preventing him from fully believing her.

Shannon smiled lightly and said, "If it were you before, you wouldn’t question because of him."

Landon frowned, looking confused but didn’t question further.

The loss of past mories made it hard for him to see the present clearly, and he was a bit frustrated.

When Shannon was about to see him out, Catherine Yardley ca back.

Seeing Landon Sutton sitting in the living room, Catherine didn’t react for a mont.

Seeing Shannon’s expression, Catherine, who hadn’t seen her son-in-law in a long ti, still greeted Landon with a smile: "Nate, you’re back?"

Landon felt a bit unfamiliar with Catherine, but knew she was Shannon’s mother, so he quickly greeted, "Hello, Auntie."

Hearing Landon call her "Auntie" instead of "Mom," Catherine gave Shannon a surprised look, then heard Shannon say to Landon, "You should go back."

Catherine imdiately chid in, "Since you’re here, stay for lunch before you leave. I just bought so groceries."

Shannon obviously didn’t want Landon to stay: "No need to bother, he can..."

Before she finished, Landon’s "Okay" drowned out her voice.

Catherine smiled, "Alright, I’ll go and prepare, I’m making pork rib soup, is there anything else you’d like to eat, Sutton?"

Shannon glared at Catherine, seemingly in reproach.

But Catherine pretended not to see, heading to the kitchen while saying to Shannon, "Shannon, show Sutton around the yard, I’ll call you when it’s ti to eat."

Shannon sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, grumbling, "What’s there to see?"

Landon Sutton: "Take around, maybe it’ll jog my mory."

Shannon replied irritably, "Better if you can’t rember."

Landon furrowed his brow, asking her, "Do you not love anymore?"

Shannon scoffed, "Mr. Sutton, please get your own head straight before demanding I love you."

Landon Sutton: "Shouldn’t you join hands with to help regain my mory?"

Hearing this, Shannon felt a dull pain in her heart.

"Landon Sutton, stop talking to now."

Landon Sutton: "What’s wrong?"

Shannon: "Are you saying I haven’t worked with you to face the current difficulties and obstacles?"

Landon looked at her, feeling a bit heartbroken and helpless, and didn’t say anything anymore.

Shannon could no longer hold back her grievances: "From the day the accident happened, I waited by the shore every day, hoping you would return safely."

"Every day, I watched the rescue boats working, watched the bodies of perished victims being recovered. I wanted to hear news about you, yet feared hearing about you."

"When the retrieval work ended, you were on the missing list. During the ti without any news of you, I lived in a daze, supported only by our son and the child in my womb."

"I thought you were dead, prepared for the worst, yet still hoped for a miracle, believing you must have survived sowhere we hadn’t found, and it turned out to be true."

"That day, Mr. Rhodes told they found you and that you were alive, but... you had forgotten the past. At that ti, I was just happy you were alive, confident that amnesia was just a small matter, and you’d rember once we t."

"Nothing is more important than you being alive."

"The sa day, I flew to find you, filled with thoughts of our family reuniting."

Shannon inevitably recalled the dark tis, thinking of the regret of losing that child...

Her eyes reddened, but she held back her tears.

It was the first ti Landon heard her ntion these things.

Shannon took a deep breath and continued, "Later I realized many things weren’t as simple as I thought. I also understood that Landon Sutton was already dead; the person in front of was Hayden Bellamy, soone who looked exactly like the man I loved but was a stranger who would no longer cherish ."

Landon Sutton: "I’m sorry, during that ti, my heart was indeed in turmoil, I never expected that the child would..."

Shannon smiled and shook her head, "No need to say anymore."

The smile was full of bitterness.

Landon felt the need to explain, "I actually went to find you that night."

Shannon looked at him confused, clearly not rembering which night he was referring to.

Landon Sutton: "The night I first saw him, you were with him in the pavilion."

Shannon realized that the only man who had gone looking for her was Seth Fairchild and understood which night he was referring to.

That night, she waited for him almost until dawn.

Landon Sutton: "I wanted to go to you, but saw you and him... very close."

Shannon: "I was just sitting and chatting with him, and you call that very close?! Why didn’t you co to ask what it was about and instead just ignored my ssages, making it impossible for to find you?!"

Landon Sutton: "It wasn’t just chatting, was it? You should know well what you did with him that night."

Shannon felt they might not be talking about the sa night anymore, "I was clear with him, if I liked him why would I still co to find you? If you were dead, wouldn’t it be easier for to just marry him and save myself a lot of trouble?"

Landon Sutton: "I saw it with my own eyes, he kissed you, and you didn’t refuse."

Shannon felt his words were increasingly absurd, leaving her with no way to explain.

"Why didn’t you co ask what was going on at the ti? Why didn’t you co closer to see whether I was doing sothing wrong with him?! Why were you so sure you didn’t see wrong or misunderstand ?!" Shannon grew angrier the more she thought about it, increasingly regretful.

If any step had changed at that ti, if she had remained calm upon hearing the news of him marrying Joel Bellamy...

That unborn child wouldn’t have left her.
