Shannon Quinn, with a forced smile, said to Ronan Rhodes, "Even a pregnant woman like isn’t complaining, do you, a grown man, have no sha?"

Ronan shrugged helplessly, "I swear, you two just love making trouble out of nothing."

Shannon pouted, waiting for Ronan to head inside before saying, "Thorne, can you do a favor?"

The word "Thorne" nearly made Ronan lose his balance, "Sister-in-law, just say what you need. I can’t handle such sweetness."

Shannon smiled and said, "Can you go over there, see what he’s up to, and lend him your phone, alright?"

Ronan’s mouth twitched a little, then he said, "Not only am I supposed to trek over hills to get news about your lover, but I also have to sacrifice my phone?"

Shannon: "Are you going to help or not?"

Ronan: "I can help, but there’s plenty of shady stuff on my phone. I’m afraid Master Nate might see sothing he shouldn’t."

Shannon: "Then hurry and delete it now."

Ronan sighed, muttering to himself while heading back inside, "I must have owed you two a ton in a past life."

Though Ronan grumbled, he quickly changed clothes inside and left, opening an umbrella as he went out.

The rain wasn’t heavy, but the mountain path was slippery after the downpour. Shannon watched from upstairs as Ronan set off, offering a token of concern, "Be careful."

Ronan waved without turning back, joking, "If I don’t return, make sure you inform those over 300 girls in my contact list."

Shannon: "Is it even more than 300?"

Ronan glanced back at Shannon with a grumble and continued moving forward, hearing her remind him, "You’d better delete those girls’ contacts on the way, or they might hassle my husband."

Ronan ignored her, noticeably quickening his pace.

Shannon paced upstairs for a while, then went downstairs to fix a little sothing to eat.

She kept her phone at hand, calculating roughly when Ronan might arrive and waiting eagerly for news.

She had arranged with Ronan to send a ssage once he got there and before handing the phone to Landon Sutton.

When Ronan climbed over the mountain, the rain had stopped, and his once-white shoes were now indistinguishable due to the mud.

Beyond the mountain, he could see a white house with a red roof. Squinting, he spotted two figures at the side of the house who seed to be Landon Sutton and Joel Bellamy.

They were sorting vegetables.

Upon seeing this, Ronan’s mind could only express four words: wasted potential.

Master Nate was ant for big business and making money, yet here a girl had tricked him into this remote place to engage in farming.

Knowing that girl was tricky, Ronan avoided a direct confrontation. As the girl went inside to fetch sothing, Ronan hid behind a large rock not far away and whistled in Landon Sutton’s direction.

Landon turned his head at the sound, frowning as he spotted Ronan. After checking to make sure Joel couldn’t see, he stood and walked over to Ronan.

"Master Nate," Ronan greeted with a fawning smile, "So diligent, are you planning to switch careers to farming?"

Landon put on a stern face and his voice was icy, "Get to the point."

He might have lost his mory, but that temper was clearly intact.

Of course, Ronan only dared to gripe about this internally.

Ronan dug out his phone, signaling Shannon’s success in passing the torch while saying to Landon, "Sister-in-law sent over; my phone is yours to use. She’ll be in touch shortly."

Landon: "Shannon Quinn?"

Ronan: "Yup, sister-in-law couldn’t handle a morning without seeing you, insisted I co to check."

Landon didn’t say anything, just reached over to take the phone.

Ronan asked, "Can you use it? Need a tutorial?"

Landon glanced at the phone, then slipped it into his pocket, "Anything else?"

Ronan’s mouth twitched slightly, "Is it easy for to co all this way just to hand over a phone? Can’t even get a thank you and you’re giving attitude!"

Landon remained expressionless and indifferent to Ronan’s words.

Ronan sighed, catching a glimpse of Joel coming out of the house, prompting a curious question, "Master Nate, with you two alone here, did anything happen that would upset sister-in-law?"

Before Landon could reply, Joel called out, "Brother?"

Landon turned and walked over, giving Ronan a nudge into the brush behind the rock. Ronan felt utterly disgraced.

It made him feel like a secret lover sneaking around.

Once Landon diverted Joel’s attention, Ronan sheepishly began his retreat.

After Shannon received Ronan’s ssage, she took a few minutes to compose herself before texting him, "Why didn’t you co over this morning? Busy with sothing?"

She stared at her phone for a few minutes but got no reply.

Probably because he just got the phone and hasn’t figured it out yet.

In truth, Landon was waiting for the right mont, not wanting Joel to notice he was in touch with Shannon.

He didn’t co over this morning, not because of the rain, but because Joel stuck to him, giving him no opportunity to leave.

After sorting the vegetables, Landon returned to his room, turned on the phone, and read Shannon’s ssage.

When replying to Shannon, Landon didn’t ntion Joel but instead used the rain as an excuse.

After receiving his response, Shannon quickly typed back, "Now that we can keep in touch by phone, it’s much more convenient. I was worried sothing might have happened to you on the way."

The two continued to exchange ssages, and Shannon sensed that while Landon’s words seed sowhat unfamiliar and reserved, he wasn’t rejecting her.

Shannon wanted to arrange to et him in the afternoon, but he said he was busy and promised to visit her when he had ti.

For the past couple of days, they had been communicating via phone, but Shannon still waited early each morning on the porch for him to appear on the path he always took, only to be disappointed.

The weekend was upon them, and tomorrow Simon Rhodes and Leo were coming over. They’d arrive in the afternoon if they left in the morning.

She was eager for Landon and Leo to et, hoping seeing the child might trigger so mories.

But judging by these past couple of days, it was uncertain if he’d have a chance to co by.

"Knock knock—" Joel knocked on Landon’s wooden door.

A mont later, Landon ca to open the door.

Joel observed him, saying, "Brother, you’ve been cooped up in your room these past few days. Are you feeling unwell? Should I call Uncle to check on you?"

Landon: "No need, I’m just idle and sleeping."

Joel thought for a mont before suggesting, "How about I take you for a walk in the village?"

Landon considered it before nodding, "Alright."
