Aidan Lockwood only drove away after dropping Shannon Quinn off at the apartnt building entrance. When Shannon Quinn entered the building, the elevator happened to be stationed on the ground floor.

She stepped into the elevator, pressed the floor button and the door-close button, then lowered her head to rummage for her keys in her bag.

At this mont, a hand blocked the closing elevator doors, causing the doors to sense the obstruction and reopen.

Shannon Quinn looked up to see who it was, and when she recognized the man walking into the elevator, her expression was more horrified than if she’d seen a ghost.

"Are you following ?!"

Landon Sutton, in no rush, closed the elevator door and turned to look at her, answering flatly: "Yes."

"You really are a freak, aren’t you?!" Shannon Quinn felt it was utterly unreasonable.

"Why didn’t you answer my call?"

"Call?" Shannon Quinn feigned ignorance, "I didn’t receive any call."

He snatched her phone swiftly, requiring the unlock.

Shannon Quinn imdiately reached to grab her phone back, but he caught her hand and placed her thumb on the fingerprint scanner, successfully unlocking it.

"Landon Sutton!" Shannon Quinn was furious but clueless about what to do with him.

Landon Sutton stored his number in her phone contacts, typed his na, and handed the phone back to her: "Rember now, try ignoring my call next ti."

Shannon Quinn looked at the phone, her mind cursing him as she frowned.

"Who was that guy?" Landon Sutton asked sternly.

Shannon Quinn paused before realizing that since he followed her all the way here, it ant he saw her get out of Aidan Lockwood’s car earlier.

"None of your business."

Landon Sutton turned to look at her, his face devoid of the usual smile: "Do you like him? Or does he like you?"

The interrogatory tone seed so justified, like he was her husband or sothing.

To dispel Landon Sutton’s notion, Shannon Quinn smiled and said, "We like each other mutually."

Landon Sutton’s face visibly darkened, uncertain of the truthfulness of her words, but even if they were false, they made him uncomfortable.

Suddenly, he realized that maybe her unwillingness to accept him wasn’t due to marital constraints, but because there was another man in her heart?

That’s unacceptable. He had to warn her sohow, and also make that man retreat.

"Ding" — the elevator door opened at that mont, and Shannon Quinn squeezed past him. As she passed, she deliberately bumped into him.

Landon Sutton, with his long strides, leisurely followed behind her. Shannon Quinn took two steps and turned back to look at him.

Considering his twisted mind, it’s not certain he won’t forcibly break into her apartnt later.

She might still be bold with words, but when it ca to strength, she’d definitely be in a losing battle.

She didn’t want a repeat of what happened that night.

"You’re still not leaving? If you don’t go, I’m calling the cops!"

Landon Sutton looked at her calmly and said, "We’ve co this far, are you not going to invite inside?"

"Dream on! The elevator hasn’t gone down yet, you’d better leave quickly! The soundproofing in these apartnts is terrible, every unit is occupied, the guy next door is a two-hundred-pound boxing enthusiast, and the adjacent unit has a taekwondo coach who’s won awards. If you don’t leave, I’ll scream harassnt here. See how you weigh that up."

Landon Sutton knew well enough the kind of people living nearby. Besides, the years he spent secretly training in combat at Dragonspire weren’t in vain; even if there was a real fight, it’s uncertain who’d suffer.

He stood still, almost provoking Shannon Quinn into shouting.

Shannon Quinn was also worried; she’d never t the neighboring tenants and wasn’t sure if anyone actually lived there. If Landon Sutton really wanted to do sothing to her, she’d have no way to stop it.

Seeing her gulp, clutching tightly onto her bag strap, truly frightened, Landon Sutton didn’t want to leave her with any psychological scars; he simply said: "As a woman out and about, it’s best to carry so self-defense items."

Shannon Quinn didn’t respond, though she was indeed planning on that, primarily to defend against him.

"I’m leaving. Good night."

He said as he pressed the elevator button and stepped inside, watching the elevator doors close, the numbers descending smoothly, only then did Shannon Quinn’s heart loosen.

She quickly unlocked her apartnt door with the keys and, after entering, double locked it several tis before she slightly relaxed.

That night she slept with the lights on again. Ever since Vincent Rhodes appeared, she had been feeling paranoid when going to bed and kept having nightmares.

Yet, Vincent Rhodes had not made another appearance.

"Ding-dong."

In the morning, Shannon Quinn was awakened by the doorbell.
