Since it was an engagent ring, the two didn't choose an overly extravagant diamond ring. Instead, they selected a platinum ring that Eriri liked, though the price was still considerable.

After the purchase, they didn't have to worry about anything else. The remaining ti was spent drawing or playing gas, leaving all the arrangents to the parents.

Having raised their son and daughter for over a decade and seeing them reach this point, the parents were all highly energized and exceptionally excited—one might even say more thrilled than the two people involved.

Then, on the evening of the second day of the New Year, Kaede and Eriri finally beca engaged, witnessed by many attending friends and relatives.

On the third, the two of them returned to their own apartnt, bringing the Cat with them.

After letting the Cat play on its own and putting away the luggage, Kaede and Eriri sat down together on the living room sofa.

Staring vaguely at the ceiling for a while, Eriri raised her hand, looked at the ring on her left ring finger, and softly said, "Kaede-kun, this isn't a dream, is it?"

"What, is it hard to believe?"

Kaede turned to look at Eriri and smiled, saying, "It's not a dream. We are indeed engaged."

"But it really does feel like a dream."

Eriri had said this more than once over the past few days, and the feeling still persisted.

Seeing her like this, Kaede pulled her into his arms and said, "You're already disoriented just from this? Then when we formally register later, are you going to faint?"

"Of course not!"

Eriri puffed out her cheeks, her twin tails gently flicking Kaede, and said, "No matter what, I wouldn't faint! Do you think this is a manga?"

"Then why haven't you recovered yet? After all, it's been a whole night; you should have cald down by now, shouldn't you? Besides, it's just an engagent, and it won't cause any major changes to our future life."

"How can it not!"

Pulling out of Kaede's embrace, Eriri knelt on the sofa and looked at Kaede, saying seriously, "Kaede-kun, did you forget? Everyone is scheduled to co over tomorrow!"

"I didn't forget. They're just coming over to hang out; it's not the first ti."

"That's not what I ant!!!"

Eriri cried out while clutching her head, then grabbed Kaede's hand and brought her own left hand close to it: "The rings, the rings! They are definitely going to notice them tomorrow!"

"Oh, you an that. Can't we just explain it to them?" Kaede looked at Eriri calmly. "After all, everyone knew about us when we first started dating and then moved in here. Adding an engagent now won't have a huge impact, so relax!"

"... How can you be so relaxed about this?"

"It's not that I'm relaxed; it's that your reaction is too dramatic." Kaede said with a helpless smile, "I thought you crying during the banquet yesterday was dramatic enough, but I didn't expect you to still be like this now."

"Waa!!! Don't bring that up!"

With that, Eriri finally snapped back from her previous state, reverting to the usual lively Eriri who liked to make a fuss at ho... It was the second day since they returned, the fourth day of the New Year.

After waking up, Eriri proactively took over the housework at ho, while Kaede, cheered on by her, put on thick clothes and went out to buy groceries. There was no helping it; they were hosting friends today, and since they hadn't been ho for the past few days, they needed to stock up heavily.

"It really is cold, isn't it? This weather lately."

Not wearing the extra-long scarf, but rather a regular one he used previously, Kaede shrugged his neck after getting off the train and headed toward the large supermarket he intended to visit.

As he walked, he checked the notes on his phone.

"There's a lot to buy. We still have so at stocked up at ho, so I can buy a little less of that. Just so chicken wings and chicken leg at for grilling and frying should be fine. The rest is mainly vegetables, so depleted seasonings, and finally, snacks."

Seeing the densely packed snack list that Eriri had written, he felt a headache coming on.

Although snacks weren't heavy, the sheer volu ant many bags, making them difficult to carry.

"Ugh, I shouldn't have let that girl Eriri stay ho alone. I should have dragged her out here too. She said she needed to clean, but the house isn't dirty; I mopped the floor yesterday."

Passing an electronics store, Kaede paused, staring at the billboard displayed outside the entrance, and couldn't help but stop.

"A robot vacuum... Hmm, that works. If I buy this, Eriri won't have an excuse to stay ho and not co out."

However, even though he had the idea, he wouldn't buy it today. He had too many groceries; he definitely couldn't carry an appliance like that.

After spending so ti, he bought many items, resulting in large and small bags—more than he had expected. With no other choice, Kaede simply called a taxi to make things easier for himself.

Arriving back downstairs at the apartnt building, paying the fare, and getting out of the taxi, Kaede happened to see Kitamura Yusaku, who had arrived just a few steps ahead of him.

"Happy New Year, Kitamura."

"Oh! Happy New Year, Asakura!" Kitamura replied with a smile, and seeing how many things Kaede was carrying, he quickly helped by taking two bags to lighten the load.

"That's a lot of stuff."

"Thanks," Kaede said, feeling the relief. "It's New Year's, so we're having a party. Eriri excitedly made a long list, and a lot of it is snacks."

"Hahaha, that's totally Sawamura's style."

The two chatted about their New Year's activities over the past couple of days as they entered the apartnt building together.

When Kaede opened the door, he realized that people had already arrived: a few girls—Utaha, Usami Mizuki, and Aisaka Taiga.

As they entered, the girls were surrounding Eriri, seemingly talking about sothing.

Seeing Kaede return, Eriri imdiately cried out, "Kaede-kun, save !!!"

Hearing Eriri's plea, Kaede put the groceries down and asked with a smile, "What exactly happened? Did you provoke them, Eriri?"

"No, it's this!"

Saying this, Eriri raised her left hand, and the dazzling ring imdiately drew the attention of the other girls again.

Kaede saw it and understood: so that was the reason.

Kitamura Yusaku also noticed it just then, and then looked down at Kaede's left hand, which also wore a ring.

"Oho~"

Pushing up his glasses, Kitamura Yusaku said with a laugh, "It looks like quite a lot has happened these past few days. Asakura, confession is good for the soul!"
