A bad premonition suddenly welled up in Jett's heart, and a trace of fear flickered in his eyes. Fly's previous Skill had cast too deep a shadow over him. First ca the blinding white light, followed by the oppressive wave of heat (although Fly had attacked the wall of the Gravity Chamber, the radiating heat was already enough to make a Beast Warrior of Jett's level extrely uncomfortable), which truly left a considerable psychological shadow on him.

Horoom teacher Mr. Carter also furrowed his brows, taking several steps back in succession.

In the very next second, the figure of the Spectral Roach suddenly vanished right before their eyes!

This was imdiately followed by a thunderous "Boom!"

The ground where the Spectral Roach had just been standing shattered into pieces, resembling a woven spiderweb. The cracks continuously expanded, reaching all the way to everyone's feet.

Jett was already sowhat wary of this Spectral Roach to begin with. Now, with this sudden turn of events, he directly lost his footing and fell hard onto his rear.

Genevieve and 'Emperor' Valerius were also quite startled, hastily executing their lightness skill to leap backward. By the ti they steadied themselves and looked over, the cracks on the ground were pitch-black, making it impossible to tell how deep they went.

Did it self-destruct?

This thought simultaneously surfaced in the minds of Genevieve, 'Emperor' Valerius, and Jett; even Mr. Carter was montarily dumbfounded.

If it was a self-destruction, wasn't this power a bit too weak?

Boom!

Before the group could react, a series of explosions echoed from the distance.

They all snapped their heads toward the source of the sound, only to see that the large white pig created by the Inner Realm AI had been directly blasted to pieces. Chunks of charred at fell like a blizzard of snow, and splattered blood dyed that patch of ground a dark red. The previously vanished Spectral Roach was currently standing not far from the epicenter of the explosion.

It stood there motionless, as streaks of deep blue gradually blood across its crimson body.

"Hiss..." Mr. Carter couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath of cold air. He made a quick visual estimate; the Spectral Roach's current position was at least thirty ters away from them.

From the Spectral Roach's initial disappearance to the sound of the explosion, not even a single breath of ti had passed.

"This..." Jett's pupils quaked wildly. "Can anyone explain what in the world just happened?"

"Did anyone see clearly what just happened?" Even the usually arrogant 'Emperor' Valerius couldn't help but ask.

Genevieve and Mr. Carter shook their heads at the sa ti.

"I think... I know what 'Stand-In Attack' is all about." Staring at the blast marks in the distance, Fly felt a surreal sense of realization, as if from another lifeti.

Everyone else's gazes imdiately converged on Fly, unable to wait to press him for answers.

"What kind of Skill is Stand-In Attack anyway?"

"Was that a self-destruction just now?"

"Or was it teleportation?"

The jumbled barrage of questions hit him all at once.

"No, it's not..." Fly shook his head slightly. Although he hadn't clearly seen what happened either, he had a faint feeling in his gut that the Spectral Roach had actually dashed over.

As for the chanics of the Stand-In Attack Skill...

"I have a hard ti explaining this with scientific theory, but I'm guessing that 'Stand-In Attack' summons a Spectral Roach, and then uses it as a dium to cast Skills. Since the Skill I was visualizing in my mind just now was the fire attack converted from Thunder Strike, the Spectral Roach executed a fire-attribute Skill."

"As for the principle behind the 'teleportation', it's because the Thunder Strike Skill stimulated the Spectral Roach's body, instantly enhancing its physical strength, speed, and neural reflex capabilities. It's just like what I tested on the Husks before."

But, Fly didn't figure this out thanks to so god-like comprehension of energy.

Rather, he had seen similar thods in TV shows.

To be precise, it was an ani.

Fly recalled in his mind, that ani was called Naruto. In it, the Fourth Raikage used the 'Lightning Release Chakra Mode' to increase his own physical prowess.

From Fly's perspective, the display of power when the Spectral Roach charged out was sowhat similar to the Fourth Raikage's Lightning Armor. Because the speed was simply too fast for the naked eye of an ordinary person to track, it created the illusion of teleportation.

Of course, Naruto was an ani from Fly's past life. Naturally, he wouldn't offer too many explanations regarding the source of his inspiration. Besides, even if he did explain it, they probably wouldn't be able to wrap their heads around it anyti soon.

Fly rely tried to use the simplest terms possible to help Genevieve and the others understand exactly what kind of Skill "Stand-In Attack" was.

"It's that insane?" Upon hearing Fly's explanation, 'Emperor' Valerius stood absolutely dumbfounded. He had thought his family's innate talent, 'Infernal Transformation', which could instantaneously amplify a Beast Warrior's various abilities, was already incredibly overpowered.

Yet, compared to Fly right now, he instantly felt his own ability was rely child's play.

His 'Infernal Transformation' was indeed much stronger at boosting his own capabilities than Fly's thod of stimulating the body with lightning. But now, Fly could actually apply this ability directly to a Spectral Roach!

The Husks from before had already given 'Emperor' Valerius a very hard ti. Now, they were replaced by an even tougher Spectral Roach, and one that could unleash incredibly lethal Skills to boot!

What kind of ultimate killing machine was this?

Too terrifying!

It was simply invincible!

Even a trace of envy flashed through Genevieve's eyes.

The power of the "Thunder Strike" Skill, which he had automatically learned after The Roach Matriarch evolved, was already quite formidable. Afterwards, using "Thunder Strike" as a foundation, Fly had independently created fire-attribute and light-attribute Skills.

If it had stopped there, it would have been fine.

Yet, out of nowhere, Fly had suddenly learned this completely unreasonable Skill, "Stand-In Attack"!

If he used this as his trump card and suddenly pulled it out in the middle of a battle, there probably wasn't a single Beast Warrior in the sa tier who could react in ti.

It was a guaranteed one-hit kill on the first encounter!

"No..."

The mont this thought popped up, Genevieve shook her head.

"What one-hit kill? With that kind of terrifying speed, even a Beast Warrior of the sa tier who understood the 'Stand-In Attack' Skill would probably find it incredibly difficult to defend against or dodge."

"Coupled with Fly himself running interference on the side..."

Just imagining that scenario made Genevieve feel an imnse amount of pressure.

Perhaps there really was a chance in the Jade State League.

"If we're lucky and he uses this Skill as a trump card, he might actually be able to take down those 'monsters' from Sovereign High. If that happens, winning the championship might really not just be a dream."

No matter how you looked at it, Genevieve was Fly's teammate, not his competitor. Not to ntion, they weren't just teammates for the Jade State League, but also comrades-in-arms fighting against the Student Council together.

Thinking about how she had suddenly gained such a powerful asset, even Genevieve couldn't help but feel a little lightheaded with joy.

But, Genevieve wasn't naive enough to believe that Fly alone could sweep through the geniuses of Sovereign High.

After all, the Jade State League was a state-level tournant; it wasn't the kind of competition that wrapped up in a single day like the Freshman Invitational.

The group stages.

The quarter-finals.

The semi-finals.

The finals!

The downti in between would be more than enough for the elites of Sovereign High to research and develop a tactical counter-strategy against Fly.

Only if the geniuses from the other high schools failed to push Fly to his limits, could Fly rely on his trump card, "Stand-In Attack," to catch Sovereign High off guard and eliminate them.

Otherwise, they would still have to rely on raw, hard power to seize the championship.

But...

Fly had achieved such massive progress in such a short amount of ti.

There was still quite so ti left before the opening of the Jade State League.

There was an even longer amount of ti before they would clash with Sovereign High.

Who knew to what heights Fly would continue to ascend during this period?

Although the geniuses of Sovereign High had a resounding reputation, Fly could probably more than hold his own against them.

"Kinda looking forward to this now."

At this thought, Genevieve suddenly felt her blood boiling, wishing the Jade State League would start this very instant.

Jett, anwhile, shot Fly an envious glance.

Back when school first started, he hadn't thought much of Fly. Even after being tactically defeated by him later on, he didn't lose heart. He had always thought that with his own talent and the resources his family provided, there would co a day when he would surpass Fly.

But now...

The gap between him and Fly had only grown wider and wider. Looking at Fly's back, it was gradually starting to blur out of reach.

It truly made him realize the harsh truth: comparing yourself to a freak of nature will only drive you to an early grave.

"This is fantastic, Fly!" Mr. Carter was so thrilled he was practically dancing with joy. "With your ability to convert attributes and your new 'Stand-In Attack' Skill, we'll definitely achieve spectacular results at the Jade State League this ti!"

Invincible!

As far as Mr. Carter was concerned, the current Fly could truly be called invincible among his peers!

For a mont, everyone's blood pumped with excitent, and the team's morale soared to unprecedented heights.

However, just as they were drowning in excitent, the Spectral Roach not far away suddenly collapsed onto the ground.

"Huh?" Mr. Carter was startled by this sight. "What happened?"

Fly's gaze also followed to look at the Spectral Roach.

"Could it be..."

"Run, everyone!"
