Chen Yin was supported by Rob, with one hand propped on the table. Two forces supported him, allowing his weak limbs to stand steadily on the ground.

He felt as if he had been struck dumb with imnse joy. Although he was so happy that he almost couldn’t speak, he still looked earnestly at Du Xixi, letting her clearly see the incredulity in his eyes: "You’re not lying to ? Miao Miao is really coming to see ?"

Du Xixi nodded with amusent, seeing her brother who, a mont ago, had been lazily exuding his fatigue, now fully revitalized with energy, she thought Chen Yin really liked Miao Miao terribly much.

Chen Yin beca even more excited, his strength seed to increase due to the imnse joy, already freeing himself from Rob’s support. He was holding the table with both hands, sowhat wildly, "Then I must take a shower and change clothes later. Does Miao Miao like any pastries or snacks? She seems to like eating fish right..."

Du Xixi rested her elbows on her knees, propping her head, her entire expression softened, but the words she spoke pulled Chen Yin from his exuberance: "You have to be ntally prepared; I told Miao Miao about your infertility. She may just want to comfort you."

"You told her?" Chen Yin was suddenly deflated by Du Xixi’s words, but as he sat down in the chair Rob had helped him back onto, he was not angry with Du Xixi. Instead, he smiled relaxedly, "That’s also fine. Constantly avoiding it is not a solution. It’s a good opportunity to have a conversation with her again."

Chen Yin took a deep breath, and when he reopened his eyes, they were filled with determination. Du Xixi smiled too: "Actually, I also need to apologize. I was too presumptuous this ti; I shouldn’t have easily shared your privacy."

"If it’s for Miao Miao, I’m willing to lay everything bare in front of her, let her see and understand more about ." Chen Yin shook his head, "You are my sister, wanting to fight for more for , there’s nothing to apologize for."

Chen Yin understood Du Xixi’s intentions for telling Miao Miao, and with this understanding, she felt relieved. After settling the ti for the eting with Miao Miao, she urged him to go wash up and rest to et Miao Miao in a better state.

After the video call ended, Du Xixi put away the Light Computer. Facing Chen Yin’s earlier expectation, and slight apprehension, she couldn’t say much. But now, in the office with just the chanical Soldiers and herself, a long sigh she had kept in her heart finally overflowed from her throat.

She couldn’t quite understand Miao Miao’s attitude towards Chen Yin or dare to speculate on the shift in their emotions. She just privately hoped for their harmonious relationship, which in reality seed only her expectation.

The age gap, the disparity in status, and life experiences—no matter how one looked at it, Chen Yin and Miao Miao seed unlikely as a couple. Yet, things have progressed to this extent. Du Xixi could only hope the heavens would favor Chen Yin a bit, allowing him not to face too sorrowful an experience in this rare heart-stirring mont.

But if the heavens truly favored him, they wouldn’t have allowed Chen Yin to hurt his body, leaving him without offspring to rely on in the future.

The cold wind couldn’t blow through the window into the warm office, where Du Xixi lay on the sofa, gazing sowhat distractedly at a shaking yet resilient tree outside. Many leaves had fallen, but the sturdy branches tightly protected the remaining leaves, letting them safely reside there, ready to welco the winter.

Brother, good luck to you...

Miao Miao was waiting below the teaching building at half past twelve. Du Xixi told her that Chen Yin was free the entire afternoon and the chanical Soldiers would promptly send her to the Imperial Palace at twelve forty.

The chanical Soldiers hadn’t arrived yet, but the students coming and going had already excitedly put on their brand-new uniforms, strolling around the newly decorated campus to celebrate the lively annual school festival. This made Miao Miao, quietly standing under the tree, seem rather lonely.

Miao Miao looked down at a small pebble on the ground, her thoughts already drifting to Chen Yin. She still hadn’t developed feelings for Chen Yin, but she had to admit, because of what Du Xixi said today, her heart had stirred.

It wasn’t out of guilt for Chen Yin, nor pity for him, but gratitude for his sincere affection toward her. For a proud man to shed tears for her, regardless of her feelings towards him, eting with him and expressing her gratitude seed the right thing to do, Miao Miao thought.
